Armagan, the inventor of mounted combat in games, a feat previously thought of as impossible and gravity defying, has announced that the new version .700 of Mount & Blade will be released shortly, and that he has rented an office and plans to expand his team.

I'll be releasing version 0.700 in a day or two, which counts as good news I guess, but there's some other development I wish to announce to you. As you may know, Ipek and I were developing the game in our home-office in Istanbul. However, we were thinking of moving into an office some time. This month, we finally got the opportunity we were looking for and rented an office in a new technology center building that will be ideal for us. The new office is in another town than the one we're living in, and it will be quite a big difference for us to move there. As you may guess, we are very happy and excited, not only because this means quite a big change in our lives, but also because working in an office will give us the opportunity to expand our team.

I want to thank you folks for the support you have given us. I hope that in our new office and with a larger team, we will be able to provide much more content and new features for the game...

Who needs mainstream crap and publishers when we have indie developers and the internet? I do hope that armagan would add some Turkish flavor to his game(s) though.

Thanks for the heads up, Pr()ZaC

Huh? I thought we've agreed to keep our fatal attraction to each other a secret?

I might even agree with you, except for that little bug that keeps their game from playing at all on my computer. Apparently because of a bug in the copy protection. On a freeware beta. duh.
Maybe we need big bad companies to pull of a decent quality control? - btw, when they start an office and hire more staff they will soon be indie no longer.

Still, I hope this version will run for me so that I too can bash bethesda for not including mounted combat. :)

They are just trying to keep with the industry standards.

Why not?

Checked your Codex emails recently, V?
I did that when I got that cryptic message above. It took awhile to go through 600+ spam emails, but I finally got yours. Thanks a lot, really.

Sounds great!

Here's to mounted combat, and the best damn foot combat I've ever played in a game.

ToEE isn't real time. You can't compare it to M&B. They're two different systems.

You have earned your title well.

At least he lives up to it. Some people might get the title and then try to act smart to relieve themselves of its burden, but not Sarvis.

I might agree with you, if it wasn't well known that the copy protection employed by big bad companies has already caused similar problems for many of their customers.
Also, I didn't have any such problem. Common sense dictates that your computer is crap and you are not worthy. Kidding, of course. :P

You didn't say real time, and JE and D2 have better real time combat anyway...

I thought JE's controls were too spongy. Now that you've got an Xbox you should check out Ninja Gaiden to see how fluent and responsive real-time combat can be.

Heh. You know what's going to happen? Mount and Blade is going to become huge because the minute Oblivion is released and everyone cries "mounted combat?" M&B will be mentioned everywhere you look.

I'm willing to bet a few reviews will mention Mount & Blade too. M&B has all the actiony combat like Oblivion plus horses and maybe, just maybe, by the time Oblivion is out, it'll have a decent enough story behind it and few more role-playing elements.

I was talking RPGs. For pure action games God of War or Tekken 4 would probably be hte best I've played.

Do want to play Ninja Gaiden though, just haven't had the time..

Well, question is, even foot combat in M&B is feeling very realistic.
Yea, sure, it stil don't have parries, and AI is not the best out there, but it's still one of the best I've played.
Expecially since knockdowns and other nifty stuff were included.
