Activision close studios for one reason. money. They are in the business to make money. If a studio isn't making them any or very little then they have full rights to close them. In a few weeks their name will be forgotten anyway because noone actually cares, and plus, if closing down these studios result in CoD getting better and better than so be it. It's why Activision are so successful. Bobby Kotick has the right idea.

I know it's trollbait but I'm really wondering if Kotick has actual fans regarding gamers.

I never thought of it that way before, but he kinda is like the Bill Gates of gaming. The only difference is that we'll never see a decent product (Windows 7) come out of the whole mess. Next CoD will probably have real $$$ weapon upgrades instead of better features.

I don't see anything interesting there. Hell if I was megarich I too would buy studios that make trash like Prototype just so I could shut them down and make them and their families starve.

Any Sierra wasn't a "studio", it was a publisher.

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Hmm, subtle pro-EA propaganda? EA is more famous for its history of shutting down developers than Acti. This looks like an attempt to show that "the other guys are doing it too!"

Well at least Activision seems to have been shutting down shitty studios instead of excellent ones.
