First you may want to watch the next Alpha Brotocol <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsMKKgcUzqg&feature=player_embedded">NPC-introducing trailer.</a>

If taken too long though the game will pick one for you based upon the way that your character has developed until that intersection in the storyline. If you are the "badass taking names later and bust heads now" type of guy, then the dialogue will be chosen as such. The choices will be made with three diverse attitudes that the developers have named the "three J.B.'s": Jason Bourne (professional), James Bond (suave), and Jack Bauer (aggressive). Sometimes there will also be a fourth that will usually be there to end the conversation hastily. Each person you encounter will react to the stances differently and you may not even see the repercussions of what you have said or what choices have been made until late into the story.

Will this dialogue system *slam head into table* be as awesome as it sounds? *kick in the balls* But of course, have a little trust in MCA. *push out of the window*

So TNO was the original Collar-Grab-EXTREME main character?

Clearly crosses the line from a Max Payne so-bad-it's-good campy-ness to aggressively childish and awful.

So, boy, this is going to be interesting to watch:'rudimentary visuals aside'-- it's a campy romp' versus 'it's the worst-written game of all time' will no doubt be the arguments when this thing is released.

I was looking forward to this game.
But we shouldn't judge a game by its trailers right?

The Spy Who Tried Too Hard versus unconvincing psycho with shitty one-liners and two gold-plated submachine guns.

I really, really want to respect Obsidian, and I do, because it's damn hard work making a game and their choice of genres is even harder. But how can I see a trailer like this and honestly look forward to the game? I mean, how? What the fuck is there to get excited about? Dammit, Obsidian, I'd much rather give you money than Bioware or (God forbid) Bethesda, but if this is what you give me to work with, I... I...

    ...don't know. :?

Technology improves, characters can be made to look more distinguishable, but yet no-one seems to really know how to make characters actually seem alive. I was hoping for a little more flair from Obsidian, but this trailer put a damper on that; still dealing with flat, stiffly animated characters with expressions lacking the energy of the voices behind them.

Scary that RPG touting games seem to be the ones with the least soul in these areas.

Agreed, the animation looks terrible. The over the top villain with gold-plated guns stuff was way, way cool. But at least from the trailer, it looks like the game lacks the properly Bond-like dialogue & atmosphere necessary to make it silly fun instead of pathetic.

Some great roleplaying in that trailer. "The espionage RPG" at the end was a great punchline.

Granted, that was a pretty terrible trailer (I don't see how an intentionally annoying NPC and some people shooting into the air is even supposed to get me to want to play it? Was that put together by an intern?) but I expect it will be playable and maybe even fun like ME2 if you're into 3rd person shooters. I really, really hate vehicles in action games though.

Also, it seems more Splinter Cell than Casino Royale.

I'll play the game just out of pity for Obsidian and hope there's actually something good to it. The game indeed seem to lack good writing and atmosphere, judging from the trailers.
