There's no chance this'll run on my steam-powered computer, so I'll probably buy this in 2017. Let me know if it has a decent single-player campaign.

Grenade throwing is way too fast and unrealistic.

Aside from that, I'm seriously considering buying a new computer now. If only they could create some quality content as well, because I'm not going to pay for another shitty uplayable wannabe CoD special forces campaign.

Overall, looks a lot like Battlefield 3, except for the same old wooden and stiff animations. :troll:

Same goes for stance switching. I guess it's an attempt to make it more responsive than just realistic since what you see in 3rd person is what you see in 1st. It's still slower than stance-hopping of BF3 and CoD however.

In any case this is alpha and they will be gathering feedback.

Of course I also hope ACE3 mod will come soon enough. ACE team gotta do something really glorious with new stuff.

I wouldn't hold my breath here either. The campaign is designed by the same people that did Operation Arrowhead and PMC campaigns. First one was a mediocre techdemo of new features, the other one was shitty CoD-wannabe.

Except that BF3 is a mini arcade game in comparison.

I really like the new stances and the addition of tactical speed. Seem to have improved the animations (which don't matter that much in a fire fight) and anything that helps grenade throwing is a good thing. In Arma 2 it's often suicidal to yourself or teammates unless you really have the hang of it.

The SP campaigns for Arma 2 and it's expansions were a mixed bag but mostly shit, in my opinion. There were a couple of missions I liked but I found it to be a fairly clunky and annoying affair overall.

Then again, Arma2 isn't a single player game so who cares except for learning the mechanics and controls?

Good point, from what I've heard that's true yet I somehow missed out on OFP for some reason. I only have Arma 2 campaigns to form an opinion on.

Well, OFP did have one of the best campaigns ever, so you'd expect them to at least try.

People who designed Cold War Crisis and Resistance are long gone from BIS.
Viktor Bocan for example works for Warhorse now on quests for crappy Vavra's Skyrim-wannabe

MASSIVE incline

The new movement/combat animations are fucking awesome, but the fires are still ungodly ugly. Are there seriously noone working for those people that know how to make a proper fire with proper smoke/flame trails?

* THANK GOD they fixed the fucking grenades. Now grenades are actually useful since they can be instantly deployed with your primary weapon now.

No doubt. Arma underwear, the most requested feature ever. Notice how they don't show the demo with a female model. They put more attention on this than getting their explosion/fire/particle system working properly. Definitely a faggot game.

B-but what's up with paying for an unfinished product, Skyway? I thought it was a no-no.

DayZ was a shit load of fun for several months. Probably one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. But then again, I didn't hang out in Cherno with the normal crowd. I even made a couple of trades with VotS, that really creeped me out.

One thing I like about BIS is that you don't lose content from other games when you move to a new one.
Even with all the changes they've made - ArmA2 stuff is still compatible

Of course it won't magically become up-to-date

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
If someone wants to get rid of a spare alpha key I would like one, even if just to check out how it runs on my PC.

That's amazing really. I'm thinking it's Moglevka. Being able to convert all of those maps and assets will help a lot as there is a shit load of Arma 2 content out there. I might buy into the pre-load/thing whatever it's called, tomorrow.

EDIT: It's been a few months, I can't figure out which town that is. I was almost thinking Gorka.

Anyone tried it yet? Is it stable enough to get past the load-screen?
