Gothic As someone who loved playing Gothic 1 and Gothic 2, will I be able to enjoy Gothic 3?

I never bothered playing Gothic 3, because of its bad reputation, however I keep reading that with all the community patches, mods and whatnot, it actually becomes a somewhat decent game. So, what do my fellow Codexians think? Is it worth playing at least once?

It's worth playing once (or at least until you meet Xardas) but you will not be able to enjoy it because the combat is completely fucked and the game is combat heavy.

Early game is tricky with melee, especially with the community patch since you no longer stunlock. Mid game you can start to rely on homing fireball, and late game you can just get the firestorm spell and run around nuking everything from orbit. It does the trick and frees you up to enjoy what makes the game shine: exploration.
