How many of those games sold numbers comparable to a Mass Effect or Dragon Age game? Obsidian has never been a studio that broke mainstream, beyond NV.

Josh and Chris has stated publicly that they can only make NV in 18 months because of the tools provided by Bethesda.
I am not sure why you're gassing up the 18 months thing anybody who peeked outside rpg cuckdex bubble already know this.
Yes, investment to profit ratio, NV maybe produced larger margin, only because they don't have to spent resources to develop the engine.
Obsidian time better spent on developing their own IP. They already have The Outer Worlds, they have built the tool, and new classless RPG system (thanks to Tim Cain hu Akbar, praise be upon him), Avowed and TOW2 will reaped the benefits of tools developed by TOW1. We want Pillars of Eternity 3, Pentiment 2: Islam Edition, and Grounded 2: Iraq Warfare.

Did I say I'm owed anything? But if they weren't butthurt and looked at it strictly as business it was a no brainer to use Obsidian more(when they had actual talent), even acquire them + they even ignored the obvious improvements in game and designed F4 as if NV didn't exist, this mindset eventually led to Shitfield.

Shitfield is an Okay game that couldn't cope with the player expectation. The only way Shitfield can be perceived as good, is if the game can bringing back Jesus himself from heaven, stopped war in Iraq and Afghanistan, solved global poverty and give me a mean blowjob.
Personally, I think it's just too big for 1st IP. It's trying to be the Forever Game that it shouldn't be, it lacked focus. That's why casuals (i.e. larger market) couldn't easily latched on to it as they did to Fallout 4.
It'll be easier for you to cope if you accept that Fallout is dead in 2010. I've accepted that Fallout died in 1998 and now I can enjoy whatever shit product bethesda put out to the market as is.

Knights of the Old Republic 2, New Vegas, South Park, The Outer Worlds sold millions. Today's Bioware is a zombie studio that hasn't had a success in 10 years.

Let's not pretend like there isn't only one "recent" release there also. Outer Worlds aside (and you really gotta ask yourself how many of those sales were because of the gamepass system) every other game there came out over a decade ago.

Outer Worlds selling millions because of a rental service would be even greater in its favor. They specifically stated units sold, not total players.
Grounded was a gamepass hit, Pentiment, the Pillars games, and Tyranny were received well and did pretty decently for their budgets (with Deadfire and Tyranny turning a profit over time), not intended to be big games meant to appeal to millions. Armored Warfare did well with tank fans. Bioware's output: Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem, received poorly, sold poorly.

No one gives a shit about your gazillions, tranny. Yes both companies are in a sorry state, but at least Bioware made Baldur's Gate. They made BG I and II, NwN and SWKotOR. Four classic RPGs. Meanwhile Obsidian never produced a good RPG after SWKotOR II. Therefore their first game was the only above-average RPG they ever made. And it was made by Avellone and Feargus, former Black Isle guys, and as a sequel to the weakest Bioware game. Lmao. Obsidian's B team led by Sawyer isn't even worth discussing.

Yes, they made those games in the 90s and early 2000s. Their titles to fame are more distant than the good games Obsidian made, not to mention most of the people who created them are gone (Obsidian somehow managed to retain more of its veterans, even if it lost a lot).
All in all, Bioware is in much worse state and most likely one poor release from getting shut.

Both companies deserve to die. I really don't care which will go first. But Bioware under Muzyka and Zechuk had a name. The only time Obsidian did, was during SWKotOR II. Anything made afterwards by Soyer, etc., is laughable. That's not real Obsidian lol.

Not a rpg, sure. But it's got a pretty good story, knows how to tell it and does not overstay its welcome. A fine visual novel I'd say.
FNV and Alpha Protocol are good rpgs though.

First of all Pentiment is barely a videogame lol. Alpha Protocol has perennially had mixed reception. Among them New Vegas is probably the best. But just like any Fallout game since Tactics, New Vegas is a parody of the original IP. And like its predecessor Fallout 3, it is a console game for fucks sake. Get real dude. None of these titles is even above average in the world of RPGs.
