Start from where ToB left.

Then you need 2 separate games - for god and mortal bhaalspawn. C&C.:rpgcodex:
They can add an additional starting area where they give the player good reason for going back and achieving godhood. It could be something like an assasain mage throwing some curse that will kill you unless you find a way to achieve godhood. And then you move from there. I can imagine the starting area having multiple locations and multiple quests.

Unfortunately, we are getting way ahead of ourselves. Lets see if Beamdog first survives their own suicide attempt.

Heh, just read this - Bhaal.

Didn't know Bhaal also got resurrected in the 5th Edition.

Which basically means that the entire Bhaalspawn saga was pointless :D
Don't forget that according to canon, the Slayer form is a level 3 monster with 33 hp.

According to canon, CHARNAME (Abdel Adrian) renounces godhood, gets pegged back as a level 4 scrub and then gets killed like a bitch by that bhaalspawn who teleports involuntarily from ToB.

Lilura, you're way off. From looking at the number of people who have gotten SoD-specific Steam achievements, there can't be more than a few thousand people who bought it.
Well, according to Steamspy the average number of players for BG:EE spiked from consistent 15k to upwards of 50k after SoD's release and, yet, median playtime is at an abysmal single hour, which wouldn't be enough to get the first of the expansion's achievements and in some cases not even finishing character creation.

Most likely because people bought BG:EE for five bucks during the SoD PR blitz, started playing the base game, and then recoiled in mainstream horror.

People would buy anything that's on sale, actually. Muh backlog and that faggotry.
It was a fucking huge mistake to not sell SoD discounted just like the EEs. Especially when the DLC is just as expensive as the base game.

So I participated in the first 100 pages of this circle-jerk. Has anything happened in the last 25 pages?

This is a great RPG though. It has dynamic systems, choices and consequences, good mechanics, epic tier comedy...

Now if only I were talking about the actual game and not the meta humor associated with it we wouldn't have hundreds of pages of lulz.

It's not the first and will not be the last thing fucked by 4th and 5th edition lore retcons and changes.

For a time it was believed that Bhaal's resurrection had been ended. The last known Bhaalspawn, Abdel Adrian, resisted the murderous impulses caused by his lineage and became a famed and beloved figure in the city of Baldur's Gate. Near the beginning of the era known as "The Sundering" another Bhaalspawn, Viekang, who was thought dead, attacked Adrian as he spoke to a crowd in the portion of town known as The Wide. The ultimate winner of the duel is unknown, although it matters not as the victor transformed into a massive, blood soaked creature and began a rampage which was only stopped when a group of adventurers new to Baldur's Gate defeated and killed the monstrosity.

I'm surprised no-one has commented on that 'ho, wench' dialogue. The responses are as cringe inducing as you can imagine.

Agreed and the whole pricing could have been handled much better i guess. If you must tie it to bgee keep the discount on bgee for longer or have a reduced price for any of the ee editions owners. Now i have to pay 40 bucks to play a dlc (i do have bg2 ee btw) which isnt going to happen. Also the pricepoint of 20 dollars/euros is too high on itself for a glorified mod/dlc.

I can see them going this route.

Typical banter:
I saw racist militarist cis-Lawful baatezu today. He said that I would be a good soldier in Blood War. Absolutely awful, so bad, yuck!

I notice they're slightly cheaper than the original games. Maybe trying to get people to buy the EE's before the originals get taken off?
