Is anyone else looking forward to this?

Unfortunately whillst relying on stealth is imperative, Batman also has regenerating health which I'm afraid will ruin the atmosphere; and while they have Kevin Conroy back as Batman and Mark Hamill back as the Joker, I don't think their voices gel very well with this medium.

The only plus point that I can find unchallenged is that they have Dini writing it.

Health kits add unnecessary complexity, durr. i rather liked halo's first system, with a regenerating shield plus health and med kits, but this new call of duty shit pisses me off. far cry 2, despite its many, many flaws, had a nice way of handling health as well, segmented regeneration + carrying health boosters or whatever was in those needles.

OT: it sure looks purty.

I dislike the plastic doll look of people in this game.

Especially for a Batman game.

Looks pretty smooth actually, Batman fights exactly how he does in the comics if a bit more fancy.

I played it.

It felt like a really really easy Assassin's Creed. Except you're the god damn Batman and you've got no where to run.

It all animates beautifully, the counters being exceptional in how easily it flows into the regular combat moves. And god damn, when you're walking towards your next victim if it doesn't look like the most menacing walk cycle ever given a video game hero.

I would very much like to see more, or at least get a better understanding of the combat system to rack up better scores instead of just surviving.

i consider generating health a cheat, simply duck into cover for a few seconds and voila'! fit for a fight again.

But then again this is Batman we are talking about. This time it sort of makes sense.

But he's not suppose to have superhuman powers. Even in the comic when he gets fucked up he has to heal like a normal human. He should have some sort of bat-medipack that's shaped like... a bat. :D

What's with all these steroid body builder types? Batman looks like he is straight from smack down and each boss is one bigger blob of ridiculous muscle.

BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM - Imagine playing those old 2D beat’em up games, where you mash buttons and pulverize everybody in sight. This game was kind of like that, just in 3D. There’s a bit of puzzle solving going on, finding a place to use your batarang or grappling hook, etc. But for the most part, it seemed pretty simple. The graphics were awesome. It’s fun, but I was drawn to it mostly just because it’s Batman.
Shame, thought there would be more of a tactical side to it.

Yeah I just watched that video.

And just what is wrong with the camera? Why Batman is on the extreme left side of the screen covering 1/3 of it while camera is too low? And why when he flies he's covering half of the screen with his cape?

Just what is with the gameplay? Yeah I know that gamepads are slow, but they slow down time when batman fights against even ridiculously passive enemies?
And after that he just runs through linear paths for minutes without anything happening.
Imagine you will be forced to play like that for all 4 hours of the game.
This game already looks like an awful boring half-assed action piece. Of shit.
Is this what next-gen crowd finds fun today?

Did anyone here read the Eidos review scandal? They allowed magazines to publish reviews of this game ONLY if they gave them above 9 score. All other magazines had to wait until the games release. Take this review with a pinch of salt.

Didn't Konami (or perhaps someone else involved with the game) do the same with with Metal Gear Solid 4?

Anyway, I'm kinda looking forward to this game. But with it being a console game, I'm positive that the adventure and puzzle parts will be extremely simple/easy and/or be a very small part of the game. I don't foresee this as anything more than a (hopefully) nice beat-em-up.
