Can you say anything about the Anabasis DLC? Is it worth it to buy the game for this? Is it good for longterm play? What I actually really want to play is managing a fleet while fleeing through space, trying to gather ressources on the way, doing repairs and managing crew.

Never played it, it did not seems interesting enough to me on paper.

Colonial Fleet radio chatter voice pack

A new radio chatter system featuring over 1,100 unique recordings injects more drama and tension into the combats of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, bringing knife-edge encounters to life. Radio chatter is present both in combat, and during cinematic replays, making the Battlestar Galactica fleet experience even more immersive.
Hell yeah, I'm playing the Awakening of the Rebellion mod for Empire at War and that feature makes space battles twice as enjoyable for me :bounce:

New campaign looks like more of the same, only difference is you can start it from scratch with some starting cash and tech unlocked or import a save file from the vanilla/broken alliance campaign to transfer over the experienced ships (since they will add veterancy in the patch) and officers.

While a new campaign is nice and all, why isn't it a Cylon campaign?
fleet chatter is nice though

I heard the chatter in the stream yesterday and the delivery is kind of meh "not today tin can" etc. I wasn't impressed. Homeworld 2 did it better IMO.

My main guess is there is no Cylon campaign because then they would have to peel away the mystery behind the Cylons and that is the only thing Universal currently has if it wants to explore the RDM contuinity in a new show/movie. For one they would have to answer why the Cylons went to war instead of just fucking off into deep space. So there is probably a lot they cannot do/show due to the possibility of studio veto. I know they needed to have other things rubber-stamped by Universal, all the ship classes are canon for example.

Season One of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is coming to an end
Posted: Monday, March 18, 2019 by Alberto Casulini

Type: News

Tomorrow we are going to release the fourth DLC for Battlestar Galactica Deadlock called Sin and Sacrifice.

It will be released alongside a new free update introducing new features, such as the ships Veterancy option and the music player. This new update is named after its main feature: the Veterancy Update.

Together, Sin and Sacrifice and the Veterancy Update mark the end of Season One for Battlestar Galactica Deadlock.

Back when the game was first released, the team had no idea yet that it would keep growing as much as it did. After four DLCs and plenty new free updates, the game has been constantly improved by Black Lab Games, always eager to listen to feedback from players.

The game was extremely well received at launch, but there was always room for further improvement. Thanks to all the suggestions and ideas players gave them Black Lab kept working on the game, expanding on existing concepts and implementing new ones. The game saw improvements in pretty much every aspect: visual, audio, AI, UI, in the strategy and the tactical layer alike.

We have prepared infographics to showcase the type of work which was put into Season One.

We're really thankful for all the support and feedback players gave us. It is also thanks to you that Deadlock kept growing.

But what happens after tomorrow? Well, there can't be a Season One without a Season Two! Black Lab have already started working on new content and new features, and you can expect some really nice surprises for Season Two! I bet you can't wait.

So say we all!

finally tried out the new DLC, kinda meh if you ask me, it's more of the same of the main campaign which was already starting to drag a bit by the time you finish it simply because there's only so much of skirmish you can do and many of the main missions fail to break out of the "destroy all enemy forces" stick so far.
New ships don't seem to properly slot in a role and are too expensive to justify over doing adamant and battlestar fleets. They either need to expand battle size in terms of points or introduce some kind of system where you fill up a fleet with a style of ship, like X battlestars per fleet and X cruisers/frigates/etc. Otherwise there's not a ton of incentive to use the other ships
Colonial Fleet still kicks the shit out of equivalent Cylon forces in pretty much every category from what I've seen, but I'd bet the AI really isn't using Cylon abilities effectively

I wonder if they will expand the campaign map to other star systems or half-ass it like they usually do. Cylon threat mechanic sounds interesting, but in the end I doubt it will do something to reduce the tedium of constant skirmishes.

I think I will wait until this season 2 ends to get all the DLC.

Steam summer sale in progress. Wondering if this is worth getting. Battlefleet Gothic 2 looks much cooler and like it has a lot more variety of weapons and ships, but it's real-time. Not sure whether you can pause it and give orders. I know this game is turn based with battle animations to resolve the orders.

Went with Deadlock with no DLC, and BGA 1.

The amount of DLC for Deadlock perplexes me, given how limited the IP material is. Got turned off when I saw battlestars fighting other battlestars in the videos. Psyched to try the base game though.

Its pretty fun for awhile. I got burnt out, but I do like the combat engine, I just feel the game could be better somehow, needs more options in the strategy and technology layer maybe, not sure. But I do hope they keep expanding the combat engine, its fun to watch the battles as little movies at the end and see which of your ships did damage. Watching the battle stars shoot their long range Battlestar Artillery is especially satisfying.

Got about 1.5 hours into the tutorials and got a refund before it was too late. Forgot how much I dislike WEGO, especially with very short resolution phases. Way too incremental for me.

Yeah, I played this a few hours but bounced off it. It doesn't do a good job of telling you wtf is actually going on. I had to repeatedly watch each round following different ships and squinting at the little bullets flying around to try to guess who was hitting who and why. There's really important stuff like vertical firing arcs that just aren't shown at all in the interface.

If there was one single thing that I could express to game developers of this era, it's that you need to tell me what's happening. If I don't have that information, then my choices are all meaningless because they're not well-informed.

I was kind of glad two of my three ships got "hacked" and couldn't fire in the tutorial. This is such an irritating "feature" that I was glad to see it before my time to get a refund ran out.

Yeah, as far as I can tell there's no explanation in the game or anywhere else how hacking works. Why the hell would I want to play a game where I have to guess what the rules are?

Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock comes to an end on September 24th

Published on September 04, 2020
On September 24th Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock comes to an end with the release of the last two DLCs, Armistice and Modern Ships Pack, and the free Daybreak update.

Following the Ghost Fleet Offensive, the Cylons are losing their iron grip on the war.
But when whispers of a new super weapon reach the Colonial Fleet, BSG-75 embarks on a race against time to uncover the Cylon secret, and prevent the annihilation of the human race...

Features

⦁ New 8-mission story campaign, set at the final days of the First Cylon War.
⦁ 9 new resource missions, which can be used in any Season Two campaign.
⦁ 3 new music tracks by composer Ash Gibson Grieg

The Final Chapter

Armistice is an explosive 8-mission story campaign that brings Season Two of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock to a thrilling conclusion! Unravel Clothos’ plot for dominion, and take part in the legendary Operation Raptor Talon.

New Resource Mission

Nine resource missions available for you to challenge in any Season Two story campaign.

New Music

Three epic musical pieces from award-winning composer Ash Gibson Greig that bring the world of Battlestar Galactica Deadlock to life.

From the behemoth Mercury class battlestar, to the iconic Modern Basestar, this ship pack contains six ships of the modern era of Battlestar Galactica. These ships can be used in Skirmish, Multiplayer and Anabasis.

Please note that these ships are not playable in the story campaigns.

Colonial Ships

Colonial Mercury - Heavy Modern Battlestar
The Mercury class battlestar is a pinnacle of Colonial Fleet naval engineering. Equipped with unprecedented armour and firepower, the Mercury is perhaps best known for its stacked inverted ventral flightpods for exceptional fighter support.

Colonial Valkyrie - Support Battlestar
The Battlestar Valkyrie is a type of battlestar that would prove popular in the years following the First Cylon War. Its small frame is heavily armed, allowing for a highly maneuverable artillery package.

Colonial Viper Mk VII - Modern Space Superiority Fighter
The unparalleled Colonial fighter.

Cylon Ships

Cylon Modern Basestar - Command Ship
Unlike their predecessors, these basestars relied solely on missile and fighter deployments for protection. These modern basestar utilised an organic hull resin, which allowed structural damage to be repaired quickly.

Cylon Guardian Basestar - Basestar Prototype
Although the development of this basestar is shrouded in secrecy, it is understood that it escaped Operation Raptor Talon with the prophetic Hybrid prototype, and a cadre of Centurions.

Modern Raider - Modern Cylon Fighter
The ultimate evolution of Cylon fighter technology.

Daybreak Free Update Features

Photo Mode

Pause the action during your replays, and capture stunning screenshots of your epic battles. Features a host of customization tools, including fly-through camera controls, depth of field, colour balancing, and filters. PC users can also use their favourite captures as loading screens!

Increase Fleet Caps

The caps for fleet composition have been increased to 16k points and 10 ships for Skirmish, Multiplayer, and Operation Anabasis. Multiplayer includes two new fleet point tiers (12k and 16k) for matches.

Multiplayer Enhancements

Three new modes to play BSGD multiplayer:

⦁ Demolition In Demolition mode one fleet is tasked with destroying a mission critical station; the other with defending it at all costs. The attacking player wins if the station is destroyed.

⦁ Extraction. A refugee fleet of defectors is ambushed while their FTL drives are spooling. In Extraction the defending player wins when at least one civilian ship jumps out of the battle.

⦁ Propaganda. A strategic satellite relay is ready to broadcast your political manifesto, but you will have to fight for control of the network. The more satellites you control, the faster your opponents counter decreases. The match ends when one player’s counter reaches zero. The player with the most points wins.

Also included in the update are:

⦁ Custom team colours to select your own personal style.
⦁ More co-operative mode Cylon fleets to choose from and challenge.

Fleet Builder Improvements

Quality of life improvements to the Fleet Builder UI to make composing your epic fleets faster. Also includes more filter options when searching for your favourite build.

Accuracy Printout Panel

When selecting a Focus Fire target, information will be displayed for any weapon type that can hit that target, including your current accuracy rating versus that particular opponent.

Pre-Battle Fleet List

While fighting the Cylons in any of the story campaigns, you can now view your fleet list before proceeding to the upcoming battle.

Combat Balancing

A whole host of updates and balancing changes, including:
⦁ Exclusion ranges for Tactical Jump,
⦁ Reworking of the Irradiated Clusterbomb and EMP mechanics,
⦁ Subsystem Repair Rate boost added to the Defender’s Tech Support ability,
⦁ Mines can now be disarmed mid-armament,
⦁ Plus many more balance updates for Cylon and Colonial fleets!

Performance Improvements

We’ve performed a raft of bug fixes and performance improvements for all platforms.

why? apparently the game is good. i just hope it's not as good as the show, which turned out the worst concentration of pure distilled retardation ever.

There is a good reason wego is far less popular than real-time or turn based igo-ugo and this game demonstrates why. A lot of time giving orders for a few seconds of combat animation. As if capital ships were changing orders every few seconds. If the combat periods were much longer and you plotted moves and attack orders for like a minute of combat at a time it might work but this felt like a lot of work for a brief moment of action.

Also the hacking thing where you lose control of your ships is not a fun feature.

I can't say more, 90 minutes and then refund was as far as I got.

If you are the type who likes wego wargames with incredibly incremental combat segments like Operational Art of War then you might like this.

I get sad every time I think about the show.
