The BattleTech Kickstarter has concluded its successful 36 day campaign, with $2,865,422 of funding raised from over 41,733 backers. Thanks to the deep-pocketed BattleTech fanbase, it ended up smashing through all of its stretch goals with ease, making it the most successful turn-based Kickstarter in years by a large margin. All backer mission rewards have been unlocked as well, adding a panoply of enemy units and character cameos to the game. The latest Kickstarter update has all the information on that, along with a video of the campaign's final moments at Harebrained Schemes HQ.
Harebrained will be opening BackerKit accounts for BattleTech Kickstarter backers in early December, and a "Second Chance Backer" site is already available on BackerKit for those who missed the campaign. They've also launched a fancy discussion forum for the game, which is already seeing plenty of activity. But I guess the focus is now going to shift to the Shadowrun: Hong Kong mini-campaign, while BattleTech enters what will probably be a lengthy preproduction phase.
