The BattleTech Kickstarter has concluded its successful 36 day campaign, with $2,865,422 of funding raised from over 41,733 backers. Thanks to the deep-pocketed BattleTech fanbase, it ended up smashing through all of its stretch goals with ease, making it the most successful turn-based Kickstarter in years by a large margin. All backer mission rewards have been unlocked as well, adding a panoply of enemy units and character cameos to the game. The latest Kickstarter update has all the information on that, along with a video of the campaign's final moments at Harebrained Schemes HQ.

Harebrained will be opening BackerKit accounts for BattleTech Kickstarter backers in early December, and a "Second Chance Backer" site is already available on BackerKit for those who missed the campaign. They've also launched a fancy discussion forum for the game, which is already seeing plenty of activity. But I guess the focus is now going to shift to the Shadowrun: Hong Kong mini-campaign, while BattleTech enters what will probably be a lengthy preproduction phase.

Congrats to HBS, a well run campaign.

Had to chuckle at this mech picture posted by a fan: The renowned King Crab

Zero Sum … NO … Gain

This day, for my BATTLETECH KIckstarter pledge …

Anybody have their credit card deny a Kickstarter pledge charge because Kickstarter was trying to bill $0.00?

No. Not the amount that appears on the pledge payment page … ZERO Dollars.

Kickstarter has an infuriating maze of self inflicting help questions,

and it took dogged grinding, and a few choice innovated POW_AH WORDS to stay the course to where one can email for help.

So happy to find a place to text to, restrained / refrained from ALL CAP’S. :D Collateral impact of Anger Management Counseling(tm)!!1! :salute:

Oh, Kickstarter’s reply is to try again rechecking all the usual suspects, but I have already talked to my credit card provider, and they kicked the can back into Kickstarters court!

Oh, last line from Kickstarter was try again tomorrow as they check into the issue. Hurrah. ;)

Hundreds of people had the same problem, but it seemed pretty random as it worked for some when they changed cards and other eventually gave up to try again tomorrow. Same issue - KS claiming it was rejected but the bank saying Ks had only tried to take 0.00

”We few, we happy few …”

Hundreds out of thousands REJECTED.

Will the Millennial-s waver and weep frustrated at the altar of immediate gratification?

A continuing drama!

“Tomorrow is another day!”

Same credit worked in the past. Will not expose another card for Kickstarter.

Trust KS will beaver on in their own self interest, and resolve so their invisible hand can shake my invisible hand. :)

This is the reason I haven't bothered with kickstarter. It happened the first time I tried giving money for Wasteland 2.

Looking forward to this game, but deep down inside, I wish it was another CRPG in the vein of Crescent Hawks Inception (only ten times better, with a decent ending)

First time I've heard of this sort of thing happening on a large scale, personally.

I have the same issue with the rejected pledge. Pledged through Codex but kept the 1$ pledge to keep up with updates. Never happened to me before. I hope this won't cause any big issues for HBS. I mean, they can probably live without my one buck but since its apparently happening on a bigger scale.

Trickling Up, Take The Money And Run!

After the “storm and drain”, … tempestuous stress in a teapot!

This day, got an email at 10:39 EST, KS successfully transacted the correct means of exchange.

As all boats rise, incline on the experiential learning curve!

Step right up, every one a winner. :o

Ha, you are right, its been collected already. Thank god, there I was thinking for a moment they would not be able to put my one buck to good use.

Bravo HBS, hopefully reaching every single goal makes them feel good, they deserve it. After releasing SR Hong Kong on time (and having it be as great as DF) they've proven themselves to be super competent, and they're my personal fav. crpg studio working today.

I wish they'd post more concept art though. Or the list of 'Mechs they're planning to make available.

I'm surprised they made it with such ease. I like the studio, the SR games have been of pretty good quality, good tone and the studio seems to be able to aim for the proper scope of the game according to their budget. I may not have liked HK as much as DF but it was still good.
I know fuckall about Battle Tech but I think I'll try it anyway.

All right, thank you!

And how do you get these cool icons under your avatar?

By donating to Codex fundraisers. But why would you spend your hard earned cash when you can sail the high seas for everything? 'Wear' your lack of icons as a badge of honour. :troll:

When you are part of Codex fundraisers for KS campaigns

I see, thanks again!

Oh, I usually try to back the projects I like (backed Hong Kong, Pathalogic remake, Serpent in the Staglands and Battletech) but the problem is that in Russian Steam store backed games are usually 2-3 times cheaper when released...

Not to mention ungiftable. Otherwise I would be showering my russian steam contacts with money to gift me everything. :rage:
