how strange, because in game
if you are catholic u can get crusaders to defend your kingdom for free if the pagans or muslims dare to attack you.
if you are orthodox, the only advantage is that the church always pays its taxes to you.

PEACEFUL AND HAPPY KINGDUM OF GEORGIA
1070 - the year of Great Reformation of Georgia

01.jpg

The King knew he needed new subjects to govern his land and all talented men of Georgia were summoned to the castle for election purpose. There is the matter of cities and churches to manage.

02.jpg

Among all the top candidates - Gabrieli Androni-whateverhisnameis gets the top pick as the Steward and was given two cities and a church. Ambitious as he is, the three prizes given away was enough to buy off his loyalty.

Aleksandre and the other two Gabrielis, competent stewards were also given a bishopry and city each to govern.

Many smiling faces left the Castle that day.

A new Council is also re-elected. But no skilled diplomat nor marshall can replace the old guard - they're going to hate the King, but it's a risk we are willing to take.

Later that year, the King announced the institution of Harsh City Tax law.

For the Kingdom's progress and development funds, he said.

And as promised, the coastal cities are getting new harbors to boost trade income.

A daughter was born, his wife suggested Bedisa, but the King would have none of it. Her name will be Georgia.

And soon, winter arrive.
Wishing to end the year in a good note, the Good King summoned dancers and cooks to the castle - preparing a winter feast for his vassals to attend!

No expenses were spared to entertain the guests.

PEACEFUL REST

Shouldn't rest easy - threat from the north is Cumania with its young Khan.

He does not like us very much.

The year is 1072 - the Byzantine Empire continue to lose more ground to the Seljuks.

04.jpg

A minor celebration as the King gains another daughter - Georgia II.

Alas, the joy is short-lived.

King Glyphwright summoned the court to his bedside one day and said 'I'm leaving' and without much ado, left this mortal coil. Everyone present watches in disbelief as the healer declared it a natural death. His time has come.

Young Koba is only 4 years old. How will the throne cope with this sudden change of rulership?

As a chapter ends, another begins anew.

My son, Koba aka corvus

I fear I have very little time left - and must write whatever I can into this letter.
You are my only son. And your life will be in danger from now on. I always feared this day would come, but I never thought it would be this soon.
If you are reading this, then I am no more. You, my son is now the King of Georgia. Protect the land from outsiders, and do not falter in your beliefs, for God protects the faithful.

You have my mandate to rule, my son. I will watch you from the Heavens above.

Your loving father,

King Glyphwright of Georgia

Everytime a Liberal rises to the throne he should start a purge of the top vassals and their families and elevate new ones in their stead, much like Glyphwright the Great did.

I'm very worried about Koba. Will Georgia's independence fade into nothingness, will the horde of Cumania take it away ? Or will fair Georgia fall to the Muslim infidels?
Good luck corvus - You'll need it.
