Everytime a Liberal rises to the throne he should start a purge of the top vassals and their families and elevate new ones in their stead, much like Glyphwright the Great Chaste did.

:obviously: Fixed for historical accuracy.

Baby Steps, or Koba Rising

Upon his father's death, little Koba Liberal inherited the shit-tier kingdom that is Georgia.

A beautiful land, a mountainous land, but a poor land nonetheless. It wraps around the Black Sea coast, as if the nation itself were desperately striving to leave the continent and go toward European civilization. This is the kingdom little Koba has ascended to rule, while barely being out of his diapers. Because of this reality, Georgia will be governed by Koba's steward and regent, Gabrieli of Kutaisi, a brilliant, yet ambitious motherfucker.

Because he is yet a child, and his father didn't exactly leave a favorable impression on his council, the first order of business is to...

Give out honorary titles like candy, such as cupbearer to the spymaster, and go by the honor system that he won't poison little four year-old Koba's sippy juice. With the formalities out of the way, it is time to begin the game proper! Watch as tiny Koba grows up into the king his father would be proud of!

Or get the urge to knock his regent off a balcony and potentially kill him. He's a good lad though, and decides not to act on his childish impulse to murder adults (for now). In the meantime,

His castle from which he rules Mother Georgia, gets a village. Now the dirt farmers of Gugeti will have proper hovels to sleep in. They give thanks to God and life continues on unabated in our quiet little corner of Asia Europe. But there is one problem that nags little Koba,

The magnificent city of Tbilisi is ruled by Moslems! Thankfully, the previous ruler of the province died and went straight to hell for being a heathen sunuvabitch and left a mere boy to rule instead (much like Koba's little predicament). The Moslem sheikh is also isolated and without friends. A worthy rival for Georgian power!

War is declared for the rightful return of Kartli to Mother Georgia's bosom. While men and steeds are called to war, bitter news is received from Regent Gabrieli!

The peasants attempt to finish the job little Koba on his wooden horse did not do. Hopefully he will survive, and not die before we can exploit his talents for the rest of his life. But back to the action!

The climactic clash of two civilizations, 1209 brave Georgian warriors do battle with 372 innumerable Asian hordes. But with God's infinite mercy, he grants Georgia victory and drives away the vile Muhammadens to the rocky crevices, to recoup and lick their wounds. The army marches onto Tbilisi to liberate it! The heathens defend it still, though, and must be pushed off with force before it is reunited with Mother Georgia. Months pass, and the soldiers of the original Moslem horde regroup and lay siege to Panaskerti. But then, something miraculous happens,

Peasant rebels patriots, no doubt sent by God Himself in Georgia's most desperate hour, rise up and attack the invaders. The Moslems are quickly routed and destroyed piecemeal. Leaving the main army to concentrate on their duty and liberate Tbilisi. Months pass, autumn arrives, and little Koba becomes five years-old, and it is time to choose his guardian who will guide him through the confusing passage of life, imparting his wisdom and--

Holy shit! This guy's got a flaming sword! Koba immediately chooses him to educate him in the ways of holy warrior-ness and get a kickass fire sword of his own. And then,

Tbilisi, city of light, city of magic, is liberated. With its magnificence taken from him, the Muhammaden sheikh concedes defeat.

All in all, little Koba is becoming a rising star and has reunited the core Georgian lands under his rule, and made it look more pleasing to look at on the map.

There is one small issue, however:

An even bigger Moslem threat exists, now directly bordering Georgian land. The Greeks fought like jobbers and lost a lot of territory, giving the Seljuks an open shot at Mother Georgia, and consequently, Europe. There is a silver lining, however small:

The current basileus is a mere child like Koba, but his empire still has some bite, and Koba needs a strong ally. Koba has two sisters, as well...

So, will their be another purge when Koba comes of age?

Also, I noticed that the sheikh you just beat had a tutor named Hassan i-Sabbah. Not the famous one I suppose, or the whole Liberal dynasty would have been murdered by now.

There are enemies everywhere, in the court, in the keep, in the politburo, in the villages and in the cities. They have to be shot, strangled and deported.

Zero tolerance for enemies of the people of House Liberal.
