We know we have some people here who just hate the idea of open world games. They are not invited here. For everyone else, what are your favorite open world games of all time, or the five that you consider to be the best?

Why is MMVI the only one on this poll. At the very least Isles of Terra and WoX should be on there.

It has continous movement. I think that's one of the requirements for an open world game.

If Morrowind doesn't win by a landslide the Codex is canceled.

An argument can be made, but for now, I am keeping roguelikes out. If they were in, Dwarf Fortress would win anyway.

I'd say fallout 3 is more of an open world than fallout new vegas cause in new vegas you're more railroaded.

I've only played the first STALKER game (Shadows of Chernobyl) so far, but that one wasn't open world. It was a bunch of adjacent, relatively small zones. Are later STALKER games one continous world?

It depends on your definition of open world. Despite the relatively small areas and the loading screens, even Shadow of Chernobyl is not hub-based but open world.

No, but CoP is two wide open spaces. If MGSV counts, it would too.

Yeah, despite being pretty tight, Fallout 1 is open world. We run around farming encounters and revisit old towns aplenty. Same with Fallout 2

And M&M 7-8 is lacking. They are open world.

Fallout 1 and 2 are hubs with no travel restrictions, they're not open world. :rpgcodex:

I have a serious problem with the options in this poll. Far Cry 2 and STALKER should be in there. Probably Darklands too.
