People power play Oblivion and all they do is hack n slash and complete the main qeusts and all the the guilds and then they say their done and keep bashing it and saying Gothic 3 is better. I'm not saying you have to super rp it like a nerd and pretend its actually real but man, people just can't appreciate a good game! Anyone agree?

I think that you need to stop making love to your imaginary straw man.

In an effort to promote diversity in the Best Thread Ever, here's a thread that has nothing to do with Oblivion or the ESF! (I would have continued the thread, but GameFAQs has a limit on how many posts you can have per day(?).)

Nah, you just have to get more karma until you're a certain rank. It is pretty gay though.

Scary...
Yes it's safe. don't worry, because I don't purposely look at shock porn.

But it's ugly anyways.

LIAR!
I guess you'd consider Oblivion which has a ton of Freedom and plot-changing points to be more an RPG or Star Ocean? (2 that is, which is a GREAT GREAT game, lol )

Oblivion may be more your style, but the term fit's both, in both, you take on the role of a charecter and play that charecter throughout the game.

I love how you went out as an Oblivion-fanboy :D

I'm fascinated by your aberrant concept of "good game" when applied to the shallow psuedo-RPG that is Oblivion. Have you actually played any good cRPGs (the older stuff -- like the Ultima series, or Daggerfall) or are you basing your observations of what makes a good RPG on the black hole of hype that is Oblivion?

If you are, you seriously need to broaden your horizons with some much, much better games. Ignore the fact that the graphics are way out of date (from your perspective), just play the game for the gameplay. Then come back and tell us your opinions

Another proof that Oblivion is an RPG:
http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/inde ... pic=590389

Today I went to the video store to rent a game, the selection was limited so I picked up Oblivion IV. Now I have never played an RPG before, and you will usually find me playing first person shooters or other similar action games.

All I can say is I cant believe how addictive this game is, and im not usually interested in RPG's.
The combat is fun and the story is interesting, its good fun to build a character and find new armour and weapons. It can be jumpy at times but I guess thats the trade off for having large enviroments.

I have been playing for the last 4 hours solid and all of a sudden its time to sleep, but this game is immense fun. I know the game got good reviews but I have never tried it before because I didnt think it would interest me. I have to return the game tomorrow so now I need to go out and buy it because im so impressed.

A little late I know but im hooked now.

I wonder why they marketed it as RPG and scared away a lot of potential customers?
They should have went 'DMofM&M' way. At least, it would me more fair.

That guy has played exactly two "RPGs" - Oblivion and Mario RPG.
