I loved the original Alone in the Dark into too but it probably doesn't seem impressive now.
There's something underrated about intros that show the locations you're about to go through. Shame there's no good upload of it on Youtube.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
I never figured that I'd be putting a Commodore 64-title in a 'best intros'... well, anything, but considering the hardware, this intro is phenomenal. The build-up is amazing:

And from what I can tell, it runs on a regular C-64 (though it's cartridge-only).

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I don't dare to rate final fantasy. Never played the series.
The Arcanum intro is great though, even if I found it a bit odd back in the day. Flying orcs, wut. 7/10

Dinos fighting cavemen in brutal combat, what not to like?

Always found this one very atmospheric, immediately sets the tone too. And you just know that you eventually have to travel down there into the depths of society.

Awesome future war dystopia. Poor guy getting crushed ;)

(By the way you were supposed to rate each other intros otherwise it’s just a video dump like the other thread about the subject was. The idea being to have some interaction with what is shared as opposed to individually putting up videos individually).

The intro of Ultima 6 sends shivers down my spine almost every single time. Such a wonderful atmosphere, and the AdLib music is superb.

I love the general tone of Ultima Underworld's intro sequence and the voice actors bring so much character to the whole thing.

The intro of Powermonger is one my all time favourites on the Amiga, very atmospheric and the pixel gfx is wonderful.

Supreme Commander and Forged Alliance had fairly good intros.

The Stronghold intro was also funny

And I still laugh at the slapstick humor from Giants; allmost all cutscenes were great there.
