So the game has Elizabeth's used tampon on display? Gross and, probably a first for video games.

Since when did Ken turn into a storyfag anyway?

He so often exclaimed how player-driven narrative á la Thief, Shock2 etc. is important....until he showed his true colors with this Bullshit: Infinite fiasco. Guess the cinema-fever got him too, now.

It's not a real 'storyfag' game. Hell, it's 90% gameplay. Don't know how someone could say there's less gameplay in it that there was in Bioshock.

Even if the gameplay outnumbers the story, the focus was clearly on the story. The gameplay is shit and serves as nothing more than a vehicle to get you from one story bit to the next.

But the story is shit too. It's just a shitty, mediocre at best game in every aspect (maybe except the artstyle, if you are into disney-esque crap).

Why would they go through all that trouble to put so much gameplay in their game then? We're talking about a guy (Levine) who held a discourse about how not to beat players with the story elements of your game over the head and to let players who only have patience for the action skip many of those segments. The fact is that games with gameplay (however shitty) have always been a mainstream affair and true 'storyfag' games have always been 'niche' (albeit potentially successful) enterprises.

It would've been longer had they focused on storytelling entirely. Haven't finished the game, but so far it only has a total of a few minutes worth of cutscenes. Maybe it's because people want gameplay?

I don't believe building a dynamic system of content, i.e. combat, that only requires unit placement to be included elsewhere would be equal in either effort or cost to extending an already barely coherent storyline.

It's not because people want gameplay per se, rather they need a reason to still call it a game.

Indeed. The entire thing was shit. It was basically just a game praised by pseudo-intellectuals in an attempt to appear smart.

Because otherwise the game would be 1 hour long?

Err, no. There are hardly any extended cutscenes, and my steam hours played count is at 11 hours, despite only being about a third of the way through the game.

I'm disappointed that this isn't really a * Shock game, but it nevertheless is a pretty enjoyable shooter. Just wish it was something more than a shooter.

I might be missing something, but that's exactly my point? Remove the gameplay and you're left with 1-2 hours worth of cutscenes, which doesn't sound like a very enticing purchase for 50 usd.

These guys are edgy idiots that claim that it's an interactive story when it hardly has any cutscenes, and practically none that wrests the control from you, conservatives that are butthurt because it makes fun of their worship of the founding fathers, hipsters that hate it because it is almost universally loved and highly popular, and of course pocahaunted who has completely legit reasons for hating the game. I wouldn't bother.

They wouldn't need a reason to call it a game if they didn't want one. Point is, most core gamers prefer Bethesda or Blizzard to BioWare and Obsidian. Core gamers do want gameplay. They want to shoot things. They don't want developers like Quantic Dream to take over the entire industry. Sometimes people act like the latter are the devil when in fact, they're mostly just a successful niche. Ken Levine is right -- the masses of people who play video games for fun don't care all that much about stories.

Good thing Bioware wasn't behind it or there would be 200 page dissertations on the taste of the tampon.

You don't understand, that tampon came from the past on a universe that because of quantum dynamics the taste of the tampon is bittersweet, the organic molecular arrangement create a really good aroma, a man could smell that tampon for hours and don't get tired. Oh, sweet Elizabeth, your tampon couldn't be any different and it smell like roses . Imagine Elizabeth being 13 year old having her first tampon it is a simbolism of woman independence from nature, if it was my game I would show what is true art. I would get her first diaper and her last diaper of her future self to get a complete circle of life.

While many gamers complain about the cover’s supposed appeal towards the mainstream gamer demographic, designer Ken Levine says that the original cover with a focus on Elizabeth’s breasts was much worse.

“While it tested well with the general male demographic, we found that many women were turned off by the cover,” says Levine when asked about the original cover, “The response was so horrendous that we left it off the reversible cover poll.”

“When we allowed men to play through a demo of the game, many of them were frustrated that they couldn’t get to the scene where Elizabeth gets naked. That scene does not exist in the game in any form,” he continues, “We had no choice but to change the cover to Booker holding a gun to show that this was a game where you shoot people and not one where you have sex with the female main character.”

“Even when they were told that there was no such scene, many men continued to ask whether or not there would be a sex scene with her in the full version of the game or if you could play with her breasts during a cutscene like in Metal Gear Solid 4,” laments Levine, “One even asked if they could see Mrs. Moleva (official Elizabeth cosplayer) only to make a grab for her breasts. It was very embarrassing.”

“I can safely say that despite not being completely satisfied with the new cover, I would rather have it in this form than any other,” concludes Levine.

Irrational Games, BioShock Infinite developers, continue to receive over 300 e-mails per day asking for an inclusion of a naked Elizabeth in some form.

I was just looking around at that site, and found this. Look at the comments section, it's amazing. Almost none of them figured out that it's a joke.

I know it's a spoof site.
