GreenMagicSpell is your ex working on this new game?
Adrian? No, I don ' t think he will, but not sure. He is barely on messenger since they got back from Costa Rice end of June. (Customs at Paris air port almost arrested them his cousin is a biologist she brought a herb called ^Jackass bitters^ this plantation really exists no kidding). Last B.Geyser info I hard is that he had a quarrel with the team because he prefers fast coding to commenting the code (<- does this make sense??).

Alas - it probably means he loves the flow state of writing code but doesn't want to spend any time making it maintainable/readable for others when they have to touch that stuff themselves. Most young coders are like this. Given that code is read/maintained far more often than it is written - people high on the spectrum of your bf's behavior is defined as "shit dev" behavior.

There's a spectrum though to be fair.

ex-bf. Just ex. But got it. Thank you. He is of the bad boy type so i am not surprised. Also looks like customs found some other leaves mixed into those jackass shit and that was the reason. Better don't bring home anything from summer holidays.

This game is pretty crap - thank god I didn't buy it; for anyone simply curious about what it is, the amount of C&C available and the story, there is a whole playthrough with images here (maybe it was already published before in this thread): https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=4003995

Suffice to be said, it has a lot of half-assed ideas without the true depth that should be there. The writing makes the player wanting to try certain things or simply deviate from being a slave to the script, only to not allow at all the deserved options in many scenarios: you are simply denied your agency.

As for this thread, makes me smile how you guys are actually believing the user above is a girl. You are degenerates.

Is there anything that hurts you in RL? Haven't seen a projection as big as this for some time.

The game - well, strong ly limited budget thing, and still won awards including "Game of the Year" Bronze Award 2022 at RPG Watchers . To each her own , I guess . The 73% steam rating is realistic IMO . Yes my ex-bf worked on it so I am tad bit biased but steam rating speaks for itself isn it
Whoever doubts this poster is a girl, just look at the punctuation and these weird spaces before commas and periods. I can testify that it’s a 100% girly thing. God knows why they do it.

Default typing settings on most of phones to do spaces after words. Most women doesn't bother to change it, that's why.

Dual Wielding And Other Improvements
04cf91597fe931de7e5720e828bdb50712040338.png

Greetings, adventurers!

Some long-awaited features of the Fixpack have been released! They include dual-wielding, Steam Cloud support, fast-travel (single loading screen) to questgivers, and monster respawn in areas. Moreover, already known recipes are now marked in shops. We are working hard on the DLC and the other planned features (the remaining part of the Fixpack) of the base game as well.

We will release at least one additional major update before the end of the year. This will include a very important editor (tool) to provide improved modding support for the game.

Since the game has translations in 11 (eleven) languages, localization of new texts is a bigger challenge than we previously believed. Therefore, we will have to postpone all text-heavy features of the Fixpack (such as companion-specific epilogues and expanded romances lines) to next year. As a result of this optimization, their release is expectable at the same time or somewhat earlier than the DLC.

You can take a look at the full changelist below:

  • Dual-wielding for warrior and outlaw classes
  • Fast-travel to questgivers using the quest journal
  • Item tooltips now show which classes can use the item
  • Monster respawn in areas
  • Already known recipes are marked in shop UI
  • Added savegame file compression to reduce file size
  • Added Steam cloud save support
  • Added GOG achievements
  • Skeletons are now immune to Crimson Plague
  • Changed curative sap sounds
  • Siracca is now recruitable during To The Quick quest
  • The game is now available in two more resolutions
  • Corrected a visual bug that appeared on resolutions other than 16:9
  • Corpses of ghouls required for Destroy Them All quest no longer despawn if left unlooted before the quest is finished
  • Hearts required for Destroy Them All can no longer be stolen from ghouls and cultists
  • Trapped under the surface quest now fails if the player reports to the Spymaster before finishing it
  • Love's Labours Found quest now properly ends when the player pacifies mourning Beran
  • Urghos' aura no longer reacts to ranged attacks
  • Overlapping cutscenes concerning the stairs in Rothgor's Realm no longer block the player from progressing
As always and for all of you who continue to support Black Geyser and who continue to provide feedback here or on Discord, thank you so much!

Not sure how I feel about QoL features like "fast-travel to quest givers using the quest journal."

It might separate the world from the quest when it feels like you're just instant traveling between relevant quest points. Makes it not feel like part of the world.

I like that change, actually. However, everything else except dual wielding is basically a bugfix that should be released long time ago.

This kind of feature gets added when a bunch of people complain about how tedious backtracking is.

Maintainability is a great thing to have, but I've always wondered does it pay off specifically in game development projects, if you are not about to start off a series of games based on the same engine. In the real world you just hack theat indie ame together and if it takes off, you'll have a bigger budget next time, and you can start over with a better engine and a bigger team. Then you will think of maintainability, but at the start, this code will likely be needed for this one game only and never again. It's ok to have a "codebase guru" at this point

Come on, it was the figure of that fat girl at the party who's pushy and you wish you were somewhere else, but people are watching. This miniboss was nothing short of a catarrhal transfer.

No, but it punished you with a game over screen if you dared to kiss one of the hot chicks in the game.
That's a good thing, romances are a bane on rpgs
Just like rape, romances are only good when they're tasteful and Black Geyser romances are tasteful indeed without any lewd- or cuckshit.

I don't know what tempts me more: you telling me about the "tasteful" vision of romance or the "tasteful" vision of rape?

I'm always a bit dubious about fast travel options in a game out of the box, it's definitely worth something for deeper immersion to have a sense of scale of the world.

But I think such "QOL" options should be unlocked automatically once you've played a game once - all of them, respeccing all characters at will for zero cost, fast travel everywhere, etc., basically the whole "Toybox"-like kit (the vast cheat mod for the latter two Owlcat games).

Once you've popped your cherry with a story in an RPG all playthroughs after that are just sandbox-fun - buildfaggotry, etc. - and developers should acknowledge that.

I think that's the best compromise (other than just modding in whatever QOL you want ofc).
