The story-based campaign serves as an introduction to the gameplay for newcomers, without there being an overt tutorial for you to wade through. It follows the Reikland Reavers, a human team that was once at the top of the game but has fallen on hard times. It’s up to you to lead them back to glory, with the campaign starting with the relative basics and progressing through to more and more complex games and scenarios. With introductions from American Football style commentators Bob and Jim, each match will have a unique tweak and event that makes it different, whether it’s a Cabalcopter – a camera mounted onto a goblin powered pedal-bike helicopter – crashing into the ground and creating a flaming wreck that you can push players into. These kinds of events are scripted during the campaign but randomised events will also come into play in other matches.

In a quite fascinating move to balance them, Cyanide are having the AI teams controlled server side, so that they can adjust and tweak their behaviours without having to develop and submit costly patches to Sony and Microsoft for the console versions of the game.

It's DRM, plain and simple. Keep part of the game on the servers under the pretext of adding extra functionality and force always-online.

To be fair, hasn't it been revealed that it does cost tens of thousands to get Sony/Microsoft to patch things? It really does sound like they are just trying to save some cash but like you said that always on connectivity has some pretty harsh drawbacks. I mean it's nothing new for your multiplayer game's servers to be shut down on consoles (and even pcs) but your single player content as well?

Hopefully the always on crap is just limited to the consoles like the article says or a :mob: might be in order.

That trailer soundtrack certainly captures the spirit of Bloodbowl.

"Cyanide now let you buy and upgrade stadiums for online games. Increasing a stadium’s capacity nets you higher winnings in matches, whereas replacing the grass with astrogranite means players knocked to the ground have a higher chance of being injured. Alternatively, you can invest in a Bloodweiser beer stand who’ll get the crowd so drunk they’ll pounce on any player knocked off the pitch."

Smiled a bit at "astrogranite." Shame that's the only positive feeling this game is likely to ellicit from me.

It's for online games. From Cyanide. I'd say the chances of it being sold for real money are about 70-85%.

It's the same as leveling your players...... now you can level your stadium, sounds gud.

I highly doubt you will have to pay real money, it would be pretty stupid.

Yeah man, Cyanide is just too good of a developer for such things :troll:

Also fucking LOL at astrogranite. Thought Claw+POMB was too much? Just wait until chaos can pay2CAS.

But hey, at least we can finally play as the fucking Bretonnians.

Because playing a slightly different human team was anyone's dream?
Obvious sarcasm is obvious. I'm not even sure why they decided to bother with them, brets are p boring.
Yeah... honestly all the teams they chose to include are pretty much the most boring of their type. With the exception of skaven I guess. Skaven are cool.
