Hail Mary! Always hail mary!

Ok, maybe nerves of steel then. (does cyanide's bb have leader as a passing skill?)

Your game against Wanimals 2 was much better than mine. Sustained 5 injuries, two of them deaths. Rerolled one death to a smashed hip..
First game ever with my norse team. I think I might have to start it over.

Bro it's a bad idea to fight Chaos for SPP farming. Seriously. They're dangerous and very unproductive. I'm deliberating whether to keep challenging this guy or not - but honestly - Chaos is like playing a super high defense team. A one-TD victory grind is the best outcome while a draw is acceptable.

Your AV 7 is just gravy for his mashed norse potatoes.

He's already joined the Live Season as Orks, you're playing with a feeder league team - the metagame changes for him.
If he loses - no big loss. If you lose - you lose big. :X Let's play later? I'll wake up at 6. I'd recommend you go for Orcs since it's the safest option for starters.

You might get outmaneuvered like Ulminati said, but you'll rarely get slaughtered.

Hail Mary Pass on XenomorphII :smug:?
We're going for maximum human drama.

Or Nerve of Steel / Safe Throw?

2-3 more. I'll stop at 10 or 1400 TV. Whichever comes first. We can hit 1450 TV, just ditch the Apothecary and buy it later. :smug:

Deadline for Pre-seasons is 10th Feb - there's no limit to how many matches actually.

As for Xenomorph, the safe choice is to give him block. That makes him useful even when he hasn't got the ball and helps protect him if someone makes it past your defenses for a 1-die blitz.
You could go with safe throw too. I'd get it on an elven passer, but it really depends on how much of a passing game you want to play versus a running one. It'll be handy against the dwarves.

Nerves of Steel/Dump off are both ok. But NoS is more fun once you got block and safe pass. Because then you can have your thrower walk up and mark an enemy before passing the ball to a receiver (and rolling snake eyes and failing in a hilarious fashion). Dump off is the better defensive option imo, although it requires you have a reciever within quick pass range.

Don't bother with leader. Human RRs are cheap.

The reason why I didn't use apothecary to bring any players back is because we're drawing ever closer to the end of pre-season. It'd be very disastrous if a key player like Whitewolf / Xenomorph gets killed/crippled without an apothecary at this point. So every time someone gets Badly Hurt - I will not spend an apothecary on them.

I know that, its just that I NEED TO MURDER MORE THINGS!

Looking forward to actually getting my orc team rolling. Yes. That's right. I ditched the Norse after a horrid feeder league match against the same chaos opponent RK47 has been up against three times. Too many injured, no skillups. I felt like playing a more bashy team, that isn't as frail.

Possibly. My orcs have been accepted into the feeder league now, so we can match off without facing disqualification.

- Your BoBs will need skilling asap. Blocking without the block skill is always a little unreliable, so the sooner you get that, the better. (you could go for MB or guard too if you're MANMODE). This means make sure your BoBs throw 2-dice blocks once the critical move for the turn is over and hope to cause a few CAS. Once the BoB gets the first skill or two they become really solid cornerstones of your cage. If the other team fucks up a kick-off roll and the ball scatters off-pitch, consider giving the ball to a BoB. Ag2 sucks for picking up the ball. but if you have a full 8 turns to grind a cage to the endzone, a TD is a great way to get your BoB skilled up. (works even better on lizardman saurii). Remember: Get a few SPP - any amount will do - on each of your BOBs ASAP. That way, as soon as the MVP lands on them, they can get a skill and stop being a liability.

- Your blitzers are going to be your main playmakers as an orc. I like to get a 50-50 split of guard and mighty blow on them assuming no stats or doubles are rolled. Normally I'd recommend tackle on one of them to take out Blodgers, but looking at the league you and RK are in it's Dwarf Heavanz. Strip Ball on one blitzer will serve you better. It's going to be handy for those deperation blitzes on the enemy thrower.

- Be careful a clever coach doesn't isolate your troll. always have a player next to it before trying to give it orders. 4+ really stupid rolls hurts like hell. If your troll DOES get isolated, consider if he's standing in a useful spot. If you don't give him any orders, he won't have to roll really stupid and will retain his tackle zones.

- Always keep one or two players (I prefer a blitzer) a bit back from your formation to intercept enemy catchers if he tries to get them in position for a long pass.

I'd go with safe throw. When I play humans, I like to have a good passing game around when I go up against heavier teams.

Heh. RK47 and I did a short match this morning in the "Auld world" league (the default one). Before the very first kick, we got the "thrown rock" event, killing one of his dwarf blockers outright!
Out came the medic. Same result. :M

He had to concede the game before the first half stopped due to him being at work and not being able to make his moves within the allotted time, so the game hardly counted. But that very first action...

His dwarf was named Jaedar... :salute:

And Pre-Season 8's guest team will be ---- Cha-oh-amazon. :smug:

01.jpg

A nice welcome change of scenary as tits, ass and thigh will be on display instead of goats and burly chaos men.

02.jpg

A bright, sunny day for Bloodbowl.

03.jpg

Knights choose to receive.

04.jpg

Both fans are excited about this one. Let's see some good game today!

05.jpg

Ball needs a bit of covering as it lands near the line. Gondolin and Brother None obliges, as Humpalekka gets in a defensive position.

06.jpg

Whitewolf initiates a crowd push - Carmen Ibanez caught off guard! She's off the pitch after the second push!

07.jpg

Xenomorph scoops it up!

08.jpg

Takes it away safely. The weather is harsh on passing today, the sun getting into the eyes. There might not be any passes today. Turnover.

09.jpg

Amazons blitz Whitewolf.

10.jpg

Only manage a push. Whitewolf stands firm.

11.jpg

Not on the second block string. Turnover.

12.jpg

Whitewolf gets up.

13.jpg

Humpalekka will try to slow down the Amazons as the ball makes a move towards the right field.

14.jpg

Jaedar blitzes to form a curtain.

15.jpg

While Hellraiser and LundB knocks a linewoman down each.

16.jpg

17.jpg

Angelo is free, so he gets to move forward to present a scoring threat on the next turn.

18.jpg

Turnover.

19.jpg

Oh, for fuck's sake.

20.jpg

Humpalekka gets carried off the pitch, his hand smashed. Nothing permanent, but he will miss the next game. We'll miss him. No, really.

21.jpg

LundB gets stunned while Whitewolf tries to handle two women but failed.

22.jpg

Turnover.

23.jpg

24.jpg

Gondolin sets up an assist as the cage advances.

25.jpg

26.jpg

Blitz by Brother None to knock down the offending woman.

27.jpg

Azira offers Angelo an assist...

28.jpg

Taken gladly!

29.jpg

Oh my...she's dead. Turnover.

30.jpg

Hellraiser gets pushed. More players marking Azira, Angelo as the girls fail to dislodge the Whitewolf.

33.jpg

One of them decides to dodge out instead.

34.jpg

35.jpg

Finally they get Whitewolf down. Turnover.

36.jpg

37.jpg

Jaedar pushes to clear a path for the ball.

38.jpg

Gondolin gets into assist position...

39.jpg

Sarah Connor sent flying, clearing a path for stabby and Xenomorph.

40.jpg

41.jpg

Looking good. Turnover.

42.jpg

Angelo messes around n forces an Amazon reroll. He gets knocked down on the second try.

43.jpg

44.jpg

As another amazon attempts a dodge, Hellraiser tackles her down - ending their turn prematurely!

45.jpg

Knights could just touchdown here - but what's the rush, we can grind these bitches down now with our number superiority!

46.jpg

As Whitewolf knocks out another!

47.jpg

Jaedar only gets a push. Turn over.

48.jpg

An amazon dodges out succesfully and marks the ball carrier.

49.jpg

50.jpg

Here it comes...

51.jpg

stabby stops her cold. Turnover!

52.jpg

Looks like it's time to score, folks! When suddenly -

53.jpg

A lightning bolt hits Xenomorph stunning him! The ball dropped! The amazons afforded a wizard!

54.jpg

What's worse, another amazon gets the ball!

55.jpg

She's heavily marked as Jaedar tries to break more armor, but failed, damn bikinis.

56.jpg

Even the great Whitewolf can't get a killer blow in.

57.jpg

Stabby with a blitz to dispossess the ball carrier.

58.jpg

Failed, even with a reroll. Just a push.

59.jpg

Brother None repositions himself.

60.jpg

61.jpg

Turnover.

62.jpg

A blitz on Angelo! He's down!

63.jpg

64.jpg

Ball carrier dodges out -

65.jpg

And fumbled a pass due to the Very Sunny weather! Turnover!

67.jpg

Brother None to clear the area around the ball.

68.jpg

Reroll.

69.jpg

Down!

Azira gets into an assist position.
70.jpg

Whitewolf can't take out Sarah Connor.

71.jpg

72.jpg

Xenomorph with a dodge in and a pick up...

73.jpg

Makes a dodge, but failed the pick up. Turnover.

74.jpg

Amazon blitzes!

75.jpg

She couldn't go the distance and slipped! Turn over!

76.jpg

Golden chance here for the Knights...

77.jpg

Great start, Xeno!
Reroll!

78.jpg

MUCH better. Another amazon carried off the field.

79.jpg

Whitewolf is a knockout among the ladies.

80.jpg

All dangers cleared! It's down to Azira to score now! LAST PLAY OF THE HALF!

87.jpg

Pick up is good, go Azira, go!

81.jpg

Yes!

82.jpg

:rage:

83.jpg

A golden opportunity squandered!

84.jpg

Xenomorph takes a blow during the subsequent turn, but nothing of note happens as the half ends 0-0 courtesy of a last minute slip by the star catcher.

85.jpg

Are we going to pay for that slip later on? We'll see...
