I'm pissed about the shitty dice rolls that prevented me from causing injuries, Nuffle gives and he takes away, also R.I.P Ulminati.

Gentlemen. This is our Match Day 4 opponent.

02.jpg

They've lost all 3 games so far. And they're pretty much out of it if not for a small miracle on Game 4. If they lose here, they're out.

1510 TV.
Looks like their two of their Blitzer took tackles instead of guard.
Two of their Blitzer also has MA+1
Troll has Guard + Stand Firm
Thrower has Kick
All Black Orcs have Block. One has Guard as well.
3 Team Rerolls.

This is our team

1290 TV - 10 Players
stabby will miss the next game.
190k Treasury

We have options. Next match 1510 vs 1290 TV = 220 TV awarded to us.
Either we bring in a New Ogre (140K) and buy another Lineman (50k) to fill in the gap in roster.

OR

Buy a Catcher (70k) and use the 150k inducement to hire additional mercs in game to bolster our numbers.
This is going to be quite a crucial match.

Option A since whith mercenaries you risk losing spp, also you get a replacement for the next match and that is always a plus.

Huh, never thought I'd get MVP by taking a di... I mean valiantly defending Brother None despite my low armor so he could score. Nevermind that though, as I do wish you all the best for the next game, as I'll be definitely be cheering you on from my comfy bed as cute nurses feed me cake and/or waffles.

In regard to prep for next match, that's a good one since though I'm normally for Ogre before Squishy, Orc Blitzers with Tackle sounds like Azira's going to be getting quite the attention from the Green Boyz, so a 2nd Catcher might be good to take the heat off a little bit.

That said, pony up for an Ogre named Homppaleka please.

I'm actually leaning more towards 1 catcher 70k + 1 lineman 50k

Hmmm, ogre won't be very useful against those orkz. Having 150k inducements could be really good for wizard or babes.

Division standings after MD3 results, as expected Changer of Minds losing to The Banned.

DIV4.png

The race for 3rd & 4th spot is still on going with just a win's reach.

MD4 Schedule

MD4.png

Fursecution(1st) the Skaven will take on 8 Eyes' Underworld (3rd) - Underworld doesn't seem like an effective team to stop Skaven speed. Fursecution to take 3 points.

Best with the Mess to take 3 points and cement that 2nd place against Changer of Minds. Dooming the Chaos to an early out.

Knights facing down The Raiders (Orcs). You know this story. A defeat for Raiders would mean a knock out and Knights get settled on 4th spot. We'll see.

Lastly, a crucial battle between Inferno (5th) and Banned (6th) will take place. Both teams needing a win to climb over each other. A draw would do both no good. Here's hoping the Block-Guard-Mighty Blow Bloodthirster shave that TV off The Banned to make it easier on our final match day.

Decision time
190K Treasury
Package A: Ogre (140k) + Lino (50k)
Power option for more strength spread. Will leave us weaker on the passing game, but more STR line up vs Orcs.

Package B: Catcher (70k)
Speed to restore the original passing line up.

Package C: No spending
A journeyman lino will take to the field, leaving us with inducement to spend on the game.

1290 vs 1510 TV Comparison. = 220 TV
If we take option A - there won't be any inducement to spend on match day.
If we take option B - 150 TV to spend on match day. Can get a Wizard scroll / Additional Lino with Skill / Vanilla Lino + Babes for +1 KO recovery.
If we take option C - a journeyman lino that's -80 TV = 140 TV to spend. Additional Lino with Skill / Vanilla Lino + Babes for +1 KO recovery.

It is with great sadness that we have gathered here today, to bid farewell to a fellow Knight of Codexia. A coach must always be prepared for any eventuality, and it is with a heavy heart that I must bear witness to the death of a second Ogre that I have coached.

Ulminati - one of the Knights favored sons, have fallen in battle, dying in defense of his fellows Knights. Let everyone know that he never lets his bone-headedness gets in the way of carrying out his duty.

Alas, we could not avenge his death with a victory over the Inferno. A draw was all we could muster as fortune eludes us and nerves failed our finest. Every team has their off day.

I would be lying if I claim that this event did not affect me. There is a tear in my heart that may never heal. A pang of guilt as the 'what-ifs' continue to revolve around the stalemate in that cold, wintry match on Friday, 15th March 2013. That night of infamy.

But the regret must stop, determination must take hold. Despite such tragedy, many positives can still be taken from the result. We will miss stabby and his pace for this match, I am aware of that. He will return soon, but for now, let us welcome Garm into our ranks.

03.jpg

None shall find him wanting as we take on the Vast Mountain Raiders on our fourth day's match. Even now the naysayers and doom-predictors have came out and claimed we are ripe for the plunder.

We will not be who they thought we were.

Ulminati feast freely in Sovngarde, for we will carry on the fight.

Looking at how RK plays, he has what we in Danish BloodBowl Association refer to as the Noob Shield™. Nuffle lets him get away with plays any seasoned coach "knows" should backfire sooner or later. Nuffle takes perverse pleasure in letting people get away with 5 one-die blocks or 4+ dodges per turn on average as long as they don't know better. The moment they sit down and work out the odds, one-die blocks become skulls 5 times in 6 and 2+ dodges with RR turn into snakeeyes.

LundB -- I had a perfect season with 0 bonehead rolls and I died in battle. That's nothing to be upset about. Heck, I sacrificed my superstar witch to Paulhicks leaping troll and cheered as she died. You clearly don't know me at all.

RK DOES make risky plays. He HAS been blessed with good dice rolls. Most seasoned coaches DO err on the side of caution and tend to comment when new coaches get away with even slightly risky things.

I'd have believed you if you weren't trying to justify yourself to my blatant trollpost. Yet you felt the need to respond. Look into your heart, Ulminati, and just let all the anger out. It will help, I promise.

What you really seem to be saying, Ulmz, is that experienced coaches grow risk-averse, not that they use the dice in a more rational way. You are traumatized by Nuffle and that makes you overly wary, whereas RK runs around with daring and pizaz.

Funny, that's how it works with NFL coaching too. The greats are great for a while but then they become too stuck in their way, risk-averse and wary of innovative thinkers.

That is exactly what I'm saying. Blood bowl is a game of risk management. And since failure can often lead to bigger disasters than the gains success would give you, most seasoned coaches will settle on the least risky play that will still give them a gain. They run the numbers in their head, they see RK getting away with 6 consecutive plays, each of which had a 33%+ chance of causing a turnover and then they feel compelled to comment that he should have failed by now. Such is the nature of the beast.

I'm the slave whispering into RKs ear: "remember that you are mortal". Because one match of bad dice could cripple him for 5-6 games with those plays. Well, maybe not in the popamole 6th ed he's playing. You haven't experienced the joys of Blood Bowl until you've had your team reduced to <8 players and no journeymen filling in the vacant spots. The agonizing grind back to a full team of 11, just because nuffle decided to fuck you over in one game. And the sweet, sweet moment when your rebuilt squad catches the coach who wronged you while his team is on the downturn and you utterly cripple his core players, making him retire his team in despair.

Also, those risk-adverse coaches tend to be the ones who make it to the quarter- semi- and finals of tournaments while the daring ones eventually run out of luck. Make of that what you will.
