Your art is just fucking fantastic, I'll give you that. But I'm personally not much of a fan for real time combat. I do wish you luck on this project though. This re-launch is much better.

But, no, you won't be reading pages and pages of text ~_~ Or watching a bunch of cinematics. This is a game, there are a TON of tools to tell a great story through game design (and that is the overall goal :).

Can you give some examples of what these tools are?

The game play itself. Every aspect of the game can be used to tell a story (that is why this medium is unique from a book or a movie).

For example, the "linked heart" mechanic (which is basically a powerup and life counter in functionality). By setting the mechanic in context and using it as means to forward or reinforce the dialogue, you are able to tap the unique way of telling a story a game has.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects...e-of-a-kind-action-adventure-rpg/posts/420622 (here is a write up I did explaining the linked hearts a bit).

This translates into every element of a game. From how / why you interact with NPCs...buying, selling, fighting....to even how you interact with the environment itself (such as we do with "the bridge" in what is symbolizes, and the game play elements which come from that...but also reinforce the theme of life).

http://www.necessarygames.com/my-games/loneliness/flash here, play this game. See how just very simple game mechanics can go SOOOO far to telling a story. No words. No cinematics or fancy graphics.... just a very simple mechanic that communicates an idea.

Really, it isn't anything that complicated to put this stuff into a game. It just requires THOUGHT, and the desire to actually do something more than "run around hit things".

Well, my initial reaction to your response is to suggest that Pac-Man "is the story of one obese man's attempt to cheat death, while collecting ingredients for his prized preserves." o_O But I'll give them a read. I do like your art quite a bit.

Have you tried also Out magazine? They are very twitter happy tweeting stuff.

Ohh thanks for the tip :) Just sent them a message :)

Haha, figure it is worth trying different angles.... though I hate to play the tranny card, honestly it actually is relevant to what I'm doing in this case. The gaming industry needs more diversity in viewpoints... i'm obviously not making a male power fantasy game, and the women actually have clothes, and I'm dealing with pregnancy in a respectful manner (instead of just making her get raped or be a helpless princess to save like most storylines ~_~).

Studio Fawn, if you had launched the kickstarter a month later, your story concept would have tugged at more heartstrings, what with Mother's Day coming up. You might consider creating a thread about the game over at the GOG general discussion board.

I'm backing this based on the superb artwork alone.

Yea, Mother's Day timing would have been nice... but I'm against a wall with this project in terms of funding. Savings are out, and well, do or die time :P

Thanks a bunch for backing! I really appreciate the support :)

This definitely isn't the typical "done in a couple months" type of indie game... so, it is a lot harder to make happen without people backing us up.

Swimming doesn't seem very likely, do you have an emergency lifebuoy ready?

Humm, I'm not so sure about that :) It is has been less than a week (and we are still 37 days left on the campaign... so, a week more than most campaigns have total). Every day we see a decent advancement... slow, but steady. We also haven't really be covered by many gaming sites (so completely untapped in terms of exposure to gamers. But, even the codex wouldn't announce the new campaign...so... haha, well, I'll keep doing what I can to try to make it into the news :P)

It could go either way really :) The project has only recieved 2812 views ... and over 11k raised. We would make it if we could get some support.

How about doing some promotional porn? I mean, we got to be realistic here, work with what you've got.

We do have a large tranny-centric demographic . . . now that you mention it.

I don't givve that sheet away for free :mhd:

You could think of it as an investment for the future. In any case, just trying to help.

Also, using my art in your posts without permission from the artist may incur royalty fees based on number of brofists received and any resulting influence on your kickstarter campaign.
