Every time I try to play something like 7 Days to Die, The Long Dark, or any other game where you must craft objets to survive, I play for a couple hours, and then I get fed up and leave.

Why do people play these things so much that feel more like work than actually accomplishing anything? Why is this supposed to be fun again? It's not. I don't want to scour objets at random in my surroundings for hours and make sure I eat or sleep enough, or figure out what I need to build random crap.

The worst is that you always discover that you haven't met this arbitrary requirement that you don't know how to fulfill to keep surviving. That's not fun. That's busywork.

These games are a total waste of time.

You should have learned not to play those by now.

Unreal world got all of this right over 20 years ago.

There hasn't been a survival game to rival it.

I pretty much did, I get games on a Humble Bundle sometimes and I give it a peek out of sheer curiosity... which is sated real quickly.
