Oh boy, I love it when people bring up PnP because this game will have about as much as in common with it as a wet potato
Nigga please, I've been saying it's going to be a watered down utilization of the system since they announced the game. But who else is in this space is even looking to PnP for inspirations, as they should. The mundane thing to do would be for them to cook up their own shitty system like all the AAA developers do.

Read some impressions articles and if this game is as "Witcher 3 quality story and world with immersive sim gameplay" as they make it sound it's going to be a lot of fun. I loved everything about Witcher 3 except the gameplay, which was a real bummer, but even if the quest design is still follow the arrow at least the immersive sim gameplay will keep me entertained. The setting being right up my alley is a big plus too. Just worried I'll have too high of expectations.

Mike should reconsider throwing all Cyberpunk v3.0 lore away from CP2077.
The funnier/sadder thing is that I don't think Trannies are mentioned once in the 2020 Core books, though Furries would be arguably Canon. Now Cyberpunk is apparently all about Trannies according to every Woke Gaming Blogger from Polygon, Kotaku, RPS to EuroGamer and these degenerates were apparently right, who knew?

I've got a growing worry that the CDPR writers can't pull off a game set in America so well. A sense of place was something that worked hugely in the Witcher's favour and I don't feel that with Cyberpunk.

I don't think it's the exact same problem for CDPR, but a lack of familiarity doesn't lend well to creating something fresh and engaging.
I think the opposite might be the case and that might actually make it interesting. If you want to know what North Americans think of depicting America you can always try Watch Dogs 2, Far Cry 5, Saints Row, Mafia III or some of the Nu-Fallout games. My biggest fear and what might ultimately put me off it is that they give in and Woke-ify it.

> WORLD Stock market crash but somehow international corporations survive and somehow able to gain more wealth and power + managed to sustain their own cities
> USA crashes, but Europe (their biggest trade partner and ally) somehow left untouched thanks magical power of "inner trade connections" (which USA also have between states, in fact US one of few countries who can sustain themselves without relying on import. They have all kind of reserves for it)
> Detroit become feudal city. NUFF SAID.
> Socialist Wyoming? Of all states? What the hell.
> And more and more.

Please Cyberpunk fans, don't be offended, but now I understand why nobody take social message behind cyberpunk setting anymore. Because it's hardly to take seriously setting when worlds state looks like designed by angry teenager who was offended by someone from USA and decided to take revenge on map of USA. This teenager apparently have friend from Europe and ofc he portraying Europe countries (bunch of capitalist ex-empires who still rely on their ex colonies) as if they will be fine and dandy during collapse of world economy.
Ofc there will be heavy consequences for USA if world stock collapses, but social and political changes in Cyberpunk a bit unrealistic.

Sorry for trying to apply logic to dystopian fantasy and nagging in general, I was just expecting setting a bit more logical and developed.

I really like this Tomaszkiewicz guy. He's like a young Tarantino :D
This is actually Pavel Sasko, lead quest designer. The company has two Tomaszkiewiczs, Konrad and Mateusz, former was game director on Witcher 3 (and is now overall design director on Cyberpunk), while Mateusz was lead quest designer on TW3, then game director on throne breaker and now quest director on Cyberpunk. They need lot of quest people!

You see what you get for bowing and spreading your cheeks to western sodomites and degenerates CDR? Enjoy your games tanking cause we also can vote with our wallets to and unlike SJWs we do have shekels and buy and play games. Did not bought any game on GOG for a year now and so should all who don't want to give money to those Lemingrad based poseurs.

Putting aside the fact that this game will not tank in any of the available universes, CDP is still headed by Marcin Iwinski and as long as that's the case, they are not spreading cheeks for anyone, the guy values artistic expression and freedom of speech above what morons say on twatter.

One of the best games at portraying US are Mafia and Mafia 2, done by czech team :p

Is he a Tomaszkiewicz too? You sure? There is the brothers: Konrad(W3 GD) & Mateusz(CP77 quest director) and this one's related too? :P

I don't understand the hate for Konrad on 'dex tbh, he was GD and not gameplay designer like Sawya.

He invented the system so Geralt can feast during fighting; he made us use all the food and potions we hoard and never use, and before that he did something with quest/dialog design that's considered revolutionary among CDPR devs :P

i dunno if i'm advocating for "simplifying" Witcher here, but i spent the vast majority of my playtime in Witcher 3 being confused by the potions/oils and didn't really use any of them until the very end. having to pause your game midfight to open your inventory and seeing 30+ potions is mindboggling.
it was terrible design for sure

There was far too many useless potions/bombs but enough of them were useful and no downside to using them, since they auto-replenished using the alcohol in inventory with meditating.

I guess the original plan was making three different characters and turns out Keanu alone is expensive enough.

Cyberpunk overally is pretty generic setting, it has some rules and tropes that CDPR must to follow, otherwise without them it wouldnt be cyberpunk anymore, so we can ask what fresh they can bring to their game or the genre? Hopefully the main story and side stories will explore some interesting stuff, the setting has potential for some good C&C and hard decisions. And i dont think that comparing Night City to current or future California is good idea, they are developing the world from Cyberpunk 2020 to 2077 so the lore and world building must feel consistent with Cyberpunk 2020 world not necessary with how is our world or California right now or will be in 2077. As for AAA mainstream action RPG's the game and the world overally has potential, they literally can do everything with the world and setting in the future also... Space opera game in the future? Sure why not, Explore different parts of the world in the future games? Sure why not.

Decline.

Didn't bother me much really. There are lifepaths anyways and I guess I like stereotypical characters to play so will select Nomad for a goody-two-shoes playthrough; street-kid for a rebel to the bone character and corpo for evul. Would rather have 3 fleshed out backgrounds than 13 with little reactivity. When you spread your reactivity too thin, you end up with PoE.

They changed childhood heroes with lifepath i think, on 2018 there wasnt lifepath choices. Lifepaths imho is great addiction if it influence dialogues. Corpo helps you with corporate questlines, Street kid helps you with street gangs questlines, and nomad? Idk there are nomads in the outskirt outside the city but i dont know if they will be big part of the game, so hopefully it will be worth to go with nomad path.
