I like sidequests (to a certain degree), helps to get invested into the city exploration. Since the city IS the main hero of the game.

reds should have followed structure of deus ex, VTM or gothic or even hitman. a mission or hub based game, built tall instead of wide, would have allowed them to exercise their trump card (non linear storytelling) much easier, control amount of detail in the world and npc behavior. if they were running out of time they could have just cut some side missions for example.
instead they jumped into this gta immersive sim + into new year release aaaand :shitposting:

It's quite bizarre, for me the game is getting simultaneously better (in fact absolutely gobsmacking in places, in terms of story immersion and presentation) and worse at the same time (in terms of more and more wee technical glitches) - this is at 21 hrs. Funniest glitch I've encountered so far was when I was in a car with someone, in the passenger seat. I saved while we were in the car and when I reloaded my character was superimposed on the driver in the driver's seat, with two pairs of superimposed floating eyeballs, floating patches of hair, etc. :) Still nothing gamebreaking though, just funny things like that.

I'm finding the presentation of cyber-doodadery and transhumanism quite engaging, but that may be because I'm a late Boomer/early Gen-X-er (depending on how you look at it), and as an early adopter of Neuromancer all that stuff was meat and potatoes for me in my early 20s. It's almost a nostalgia trip for me, that reminds me of a time when such speculations were cutting edge and futuristic.

This game is a leftist shitshow. I was really lookin forward to it, and had high hopes, but there is so many stuff that fucking annoys me. Why is there a black woman as your voice com instructor? Nice of them to respect their target audience. Then she says shit like welcome to the facist playground when you train your weapons. In Vs personal room there is "bolshevik vodka" on the table. This shit isnt even subtle anymore. They are pushing their fucking leftist agenda, every point they can, its so fucking annoying. People have been right about CD Project. Another great studio got replaced by leftist assholes, who think video games have to be about pushing your political ideology. And its not even very creative or anything. Its just any western multicultural shithole 20 years forward. Where is it written that cyberpunk has to be multicultural?
But what to expect from a company that say shit like that:

cp.jpg

and has THAT as an art director:

Im really disappointed, when i think how great this game could have been, with a proper male developer studio. Its the same as always diversity and inclusion comes with price. The price of quality. They hired to many woman and they are on their best way to become a sad caricature of themselves like Obsidian.

Posting pic of an female art director that is not that pretty to fit narrative with "leftist" agenda, rather than looking at what she did in game? We found an alt account of some OG Codex user.

While I am all about trashing games that fall down a rabbit hole of leftist horseshit, if you read the source material (full disclosure, I read this decades ago) the game actually hews fairly closely to it. The USSR is painted as a socialist utopia (at least up front), America is a declining shithole, the Japanese are resurgent, and so on. Communist iconography is all over the place.

Didn't they say that the game will have 4 classic tabletop's clasees to pick from?
I think halfway through they threw everything experimental out and just made a first person witcher 3.

Game is not bad, but it did promise too much.

Yeah, the source is pretty shit too. It is one of the most boring cyberpunk genre settings. It is sad that it became the genre name.

I think comparisons to GTA5 are a little unfair though. If we're being charitable (god forbid, on the Codex, but anyway) Rockstar have had 19 years to iterate on the GTA concept since the release of GTA3. Their open world driving mechanics, including things like car AI, physics and so on, are inevitably going to be leagues ahead of their competitors. This is CDPR's first foray into this type of game, and yeah their car AI is laughable and the car physics are pretty average. But this is also a role-playing game, not a GTA clone, even if it's decidedly RPG-lite.
That's fucking bullshit.

Yes, Rockstar and Ubisoft have more experience with these kinds of games and CDPR don't, but guess what? That's not my fucking problem.

CDPR are asking people to pay $60, what they'd be paying for a GTA or Watch Dogs game, only to get some buggy, broken abortion of a game whose only selling point is the questionable writing. Them being unable to deliver something on par with GTA V is their problem, especially since they had about an equal amount of resources (in terms of budget and employees) as Rockstar did, and the benefit of learning from Rockstar and Ubisoft - seeing what works and what doesn't while looking through 20 years of open-world games and dozens of titles.

Perhaps, instead of hiring more women and other subhumans, they should have gone headhunting for current or former Rockstar employees to help them implementing the open-world portion of the game? Maybe paying for talented people instead of obese dangerhairs would have made 2077 a good game?

The completely pathetic part is that Ubisoft's newest turd has better (hacking) mechanics than 2077, that it runs and plays better than this piece of shit. CDPR devoted more attention to the MC's genitalia than they did to face/body customisation, despite the fact the player will never see their tranny gaping wound in-game, and all to appease ResetEra, who just kept on shitting on them anyway afterwards. Resources well spent indeed.

CDPR had all the time, money and resources to deliver a functional product and they failed - it's as simple as that. They're not some small indie from Europe's backwater, they're one of the largest game development studios in the world, with more money than Ubisoft even, and all they could manage was this?

Overall it's clear that CDPR bit off far more than they could chew with this game. I'm not sure if they deserve to get hauled over the coals for that, or if they should be commended for their ambition. But statements like 'lol GTA5's driving is so much better' lack perspective IMO.
They can go fuck themselves. They deserve to get roasted for all the lies they told people and the fraudulent advertising. There's nothing even remotely ambitious about this turd.

I can already see a class action lawsuit from PS4 users related to the lies told about the game's performance on the system.

"A FAT WOMAN MADE MY GAME??? AHHHHHHHH"

This kind of shit reminds me of a codex thread waaaaay back, like in 2005 or 2006. Oblivion was in development, I think. Bethesda had posted a video of Todd Howard walking through the studio and showing off the place, and he stopped by the gym to show some people working out in there.

And of course, a whole mess of codex degenerates lost their minds. You could read such gems as "Why are they working out when they should be making the game??" and "If they're working out they must not be nerdy enough to make good games, Bethesda hired the wrong people!"

I don't know what the point of this post was, except an excuse to minimize Cyberpunk to my system tray and do something else for a few minutes.

Yeah, not sure about how her being a fat woman makes her automatically a bad dev. Hapler or whatever dev for Dragon Age made the Dwarf origins which was one of the best stories in DAO, tho she did probably start the story mode shit because of her complaints or something iirc.

Maybe it's not CDPR that sucks maybe making your new shiny game that's heavy on newly released PC hardware run properly on shit peasant console tech is simply unfeasible.

Maybe we are finally seeing that multiplatform development just holds games back. No? Lol didn't think so either cry more normies.

It was good til it lasted. CDPR already downgraded it with the ne 1.04 patch

Dude probably thinks, that games should be done by team full of Henry Cavills without shirt on. I wouldn't be surprised if he came watching him build that PC and putting that sweet processor into the motherboard.

Haven't played CP2077 but I have to agree on GTA. GTA's AI and car physics are good, yes, but in other areas it's probably even more soulless and vacant than the average open-world game.

They nabbed emotion engine devs really early and it gave the dividents. Though GTA5 emo engine is poor shadow of GTA4 one. There are shitload of videos on how scaled back it is compared to GTA4. RDR2 emo engine is stil lthe same as in GTA5. They are basically sitting on it not improving it, it is not like they need they sit on top and no one is researching that stuff.

Speaking of car physics. Imho 77 has way better physics than GTA and pretty much other open world games outside of Forza Horizon. It reminds me a lot of GTA4 where cars actually had weight to them. Moreover from what i have seen they use some rubber simulation. Yes at times it is very "bouncy" on cars with soft suspension but overall it feels really nice going all of those bumps and shit and you can definitely feel that you drive on rubber not via some flat physic engine that tries to keep car down to ground at all costs. No doubt debugging that shit to even drive in such varied enviro took them shitload of time.

My only issue with driving so far is that in first person wheel is awfully twitchy which doesn't happen in third person and that first person camera is a bit too low, you can see nicely dashboard but NC isn't flat city so anytime you go down the hill you are basically blind for a second or two when you change elevation.

The game needs some serious modding intervention in the progression of, well, everything. It should be forbidden by law to put such granular progression in shooter-rpg hybrids, with such amazing upgrades like +5% to damage.

Didn't codex nailed Fallout 4 for doing exactly that but with 15% and how that didn't make sense to scale damage of weapon like gun from skill such as this ? Imho there shouldn't be any such skills, guns should have their native damage and perks should be about other stuff.

That being said in world of 77 it is pretty easy to imagine this is just some optic upgrade to compensate for recoil and some shit, so instead of grazing your would much more someone.

Also MEGALOL. I watched Sawyer stream and he was talking about exactly this stuff. He criticized devs for doing 5% went into tyrade about how 5% is nothing and how it is stupid.

This comes from Sawyer who designed POE system where each stat gave you 3%:lol::lol::lol::lol:

"Not that pretty" She is fucking disgusting. An no im not an alt account. Im new and fresh.

More like slopy seconds.

If there is a game where you want those types of gonks it is Cyberpunk. It is supposed to be degenerate future. So the more danger heads in art team the more degenerate it is which means better for user.

Listen its not per se about the vodka. But imagine if there was the nationalsocialist equivalent with for example Hitlers pic on the bottle. Then these people would loose their minds and demand that this facist studio gets closed or something. Thats my point. Its fucking hypocrisy.
