Location
Upside Down
I've built a chicken coop in the grasslands, realised afterwards its not the best location for it (wasting valuble space, and may be better to be paved)

But at the time i thought it may need grass like the sheep/cows do, but doesn't seem to be.

If we can thing of a spot to put a proper one and pave some areas, could be useful, maybe where rocks/logs were? or just north of the kilns, or down towards the lagfields for seeds?

Got a bunch of chickens in it after some running around (including some babies, and a cock) probably need at least two coops to start with, one for eggs and one for getting stock quality up via breeding, using higher q seeds and rotating chickens though. Especially right at the moment when seed quality is the main quantifier for chickens, as there's talk about changing the formula on the threads.

Ahem...

In fact, it works quite differently. New eggs that are layed will have a quality of the average of the quality of the hen and the cock, ±5. When the chicks are hatched, they will need to eat three times to grow into adult creatues. Each time they eat, their quality decreases if the fodder quality is less than their own quality.

Not very useful, you're still better off making sausages. But pancakes are fun to cook.

Rocks & Logs sounds like a good location for a chicken coop.
