You seriously think that someone will associate their Facebook with RPG Codex? That is like walking in a seedy district at night, asking for a rape.

And the rape will be televised and shown to all of your friends and family.

And I'm a little weary of this whole Facebook deal too, spreading discussion through the froum and facebook would be bad, but probably is more to intereact with developers and have a nice news feed, I doubt codexers will post there instead of here.

Bingo. I seriously doubt anyone will start debating on Facebook instead of here. But Facebook allows for the RPGCodex-page to act as a profile which allows for the integrations of news feeds. We can share news from developers on there - say for instance ITS posts some update on there page. As an admin I can share this news as RPGCodex broadcasting it to the 'home'-page of anyone that likes the page.

Personally, I think that's an efficient way of distributing news on top of the original Codex content and news posting that goes on here.

Plus we can use RPGCodex as a profile to troll Bioware's fanpage :smug:

I was a member of the old RPGCodex group and except for the fact that the word "dick" was posted a lot nothing really happened there to suggest that televised rape will occur.

I seriously doubt we will get new members FROM Facebook TO RPGCodex.

I meant more in the increase of traffic here. Not as in new members. Like we seem to be at around 300-400 lately. When Skyrimjob and ME3 were out I think it jumped to like 600+

The codex on derpbook - now your family members, employers and that guy who's fucking your girlfriend can get to know how much you hate popamole!

:decline:

Honestly, I can understand the codex being on twatter but derpbook? Why? Do we need to reach out to the lowest common denominator who can't hear of the codex in other places? It just seems redundant if we have twatter, not to mention derpbook being the epitome of decline of the "real" world.

I am deeply horrified by newsposting that I can selectively mod to suit my own needs (so why am I on the Codex again?)

Hellraiser said:

The idea arose because I never checked the front page of the Codex and investigated how to merge it into my newsfeed on FB (which is use for P&P-groups, gaming groups, political organisations and work). Along the way I thought "why not just do this instead?"

Anyway see above your own post for more clarification.

felipepepe and tiagocc0: Nice!

yeah well... i am deeply horrified by redundant crossposting spamathons... and facebook & twitter in general

we have a newsforum and a frontpage... i see little need to spread out

if you deem it necessary for your own convenience... fine, but i'll stick to rss & the site itself

but the uh, "lining" of the text is off.

every character in the entire image should be affected by the same lines.
(lines should also be evenly spaced but I CBA)

Personally I liked the first one by tiagocc0 the most, but later iterations are also nice; As profile pic the original felipepepe Codex on dice would work now actually, because it no longer "fits" in the background.

I think as a first action the Codex Facebook page should befriend this legendary K. Peysen fellow.

And all that time and effort I put in was for naught? Fuck you guys. And fuck this "Facebook" (what ever that is . . . it's MySpace right?) shit! :D

Very nice, Tiagocc0.
