Filler content to extend game lenght,90% of combat in RPGs makes no goddamint sense, are repetitive and requires no strategy and is just there to waste your time, unless is a game specially made with combat in mind like Template of elemental Evil.

Fetch Quests are also another "extend game lenght filler"

it's ok as long as when you press a button, something awesome happens, so button = awesome

In a way, I miss 2011 BioWare. At least with those clowns we could have some fun with TorTanic and DA2 memes. Shitting on modern BioWare just makes me feel guilty, like making fun of a terminally ill person.

Someone bumped the Shadowrun thread today and that is a good example of a game where combat is more sparse in a lot of missions, or even almost non-existent, and I kind of like that. More realistic, more special. Trash mobs are the standard though for AKCHUN so whatevs.

Combat in most RPGs is the focus of the game. You spend most of your time doing it, and anything you do that isn't combat is only there to give you rewards that ultimately make you better at the combat.

After i played through Dragon Age,Mass Effect and PIllars of Eternity i just can't stand bad writting and filler content anymore.

The last RPG i tried to play is The Witcher 3 and holy shit the writting is so bad man ! and the combat is atrocious !!! That game is complete fucking garbage !!!!!

It's always the same here, when people complain about combat, combatfags complain about dialogue and storyfaggotry, like there's nothing more than that in RPGs.

Both storyfags and combatfags are equally retarded.

Notice me sempai. :negative:

Absolutely true, the real purpose of cRPGs is exploration and mapping dungeons

most of what you do in most rpgs eventually leads to combat. It's usually the best way to challenge and test the character the playyer created.

SMT does combat right. If you don't fear dying or at least being significantly hindered in a battle there's no point in having one in the first place. That includes the random ones.

Bitch please ...

That's why we play the good ones with good combat systems.
You should try it, someday.
