Apparently the creators of Black Desert will release a singleplayer game (but with integrated online elements, it's not an MMO though) next year
  • Open world action-adventure
  • Immersive story with emphasis on character development
  • Online features seamlessly interwoven with the main story content and multiplayer content
  • Fast-paced, dynamic action combat
  • True next generation 4K graphics and performance
  • Breathtaking character customization that raises the bar for the gaming industry

Looks pretty neat
They should tone down the effects and shacky cam a bit
Hope the quests aren't MMO tier garbage filler, and that grinding isn't the backbone of the gameplay loop

Wait even longer for Yellow Desert, where the electric rat follows you and utters horribly digitized voice clips and all the fun glitches are patched out.

This shit was announced in 2019, then a gameplay trailer in 2020, zero news since then, and now another trailer with no release date. Pearl Abyss said like a year ago they were facing problems during development, so this must be vapourware or will suffer major downgrades, because it looks a bit too good

This was about the only interesting thing on the opening night of gamescom mostly because I wasn't aware they were making a singleplayer game in the first place. That's to be expected I suppose with shows front loading with popular normie bait, hopefully the next couple days reveal some smaller studio gems.

Well the game certainly looks pretty impressive with its animations and realistic rendering (I assume UE5 plays a big part in achieving that)

Though It does feel like they're attempting too many things at once.
This usually results in a game having systems with little depth or purpose (like marriage and cooking in Skyrim, for instance)

Bad news, fellers.
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/crimson-desert-has-been-reportedly-delayed-until-2025/

“The release date of ‘Crimson Desert’ will be postponed by a year from the existing Q2 of 2024 to the 2nd quarter of 2025, reflecting the neutral level, but the cumulative sales volume, including related early quarter sales, will be determined based on global user feedback from the released in-game video.”
