Potentially promising. I hope it comes to fruition. Someone should evaluate the proportion of "upcoming" announced CRPGs that actually come. That Pepe guy probably already has a spreadsheet for this.

I guess there would need to be a minimum threshold so every half-assed unserious solo project on itch.io doesn't qualify and skew the stats. Maybe "has a Steam page", but don't know how easy or hard it is to get one these days.

It reminds me of ATOM RPG and that was a fun little game. I like the combat animations, they have gone beyond the usual indie jank and good fight animations are quite important for me in this type of game. I really liked Fallout combat animations for example, they are quite iconic and very over the top and made the game stand out a lot.

Premise seems interesting, but I hope the dev shows off more cooler looking armor than the bland crap the main character was wearing in this trailer.

We don't get enough Fallout spiritual successors these days.

What is the character system like? I hope it wont be lazily copied from Fallout like ATOM and Colony Ship did

Looks good, approachable, too. But those circles instead of classical hexes or squares :/ I can see that they probably mean to display the defensive bonuses, but man, does it look off-putting. Or am I just too old and conditioned to accept something round as something good?

Love the vibe and setting. Wishlisted.

Needs more exposure though, that Youtube vid barely has any likes or comments.

That’s a fair point. Some studios do treat platforms like Steam as a way to test the waters. Whichever concept gets the most interest moves forward, and the rest are quietly shelved.
As for getting a Steam page up, it just requires enough material to pass the basic review/pre-moderation process and a $100 submission fee.

Anyway, I will definitely do my best to finish the project. The only unknown is how long it’ll take to get there....

I appreciate all the hard work by ATOM team. I come from a very similar background: an Eastern European kid who grew up in awe of Fallout. I had a vision of building a similar game but in a different setting. I actually finished a basic version of this RPG game (for DOS!) years ago but it didn't age well so this would be my version 2.0

As a boring adult I'm less fond of the grotesque ultra-violence in Fallout 1/2 but turn-based combat still benefits from a bit of spice to keep things fresh.

Yeah, I don’t have any in-game armour models yet. I’ll also need to strike a balance between letting players equip gear and keeping it concealed in a dystopian setting.

You probably wouldn’t get far in heavy armour with an assault rifle out in the open under a police state.

"Cux" would be pronounced the same as "cucks".

I saw the "cux" bit in the post but thought it was a typo lol

Is it just me, or does "cux" feel like a bit of a leap as the first thing linked to "crux"? I was thinking people would assume "butt cracks" or something of that sort.
