I tossed between the last two votes... and I got C!

You are well aware that to control their victims better, pimps go from very mean to sweet and protective, and it is an effective method that you've used in the past in other operations... but seeing as this girl already looks on the verge of a nervous breakdown, you're not sure that pushing her further is a good idea. Ian probably did it way too much already. And frankly, you doubt that most of the customers will have a good time with a girl that is a nervous wreck.

As she starts to undo her bra, you say:

Julien: You know what? I'm in a good mood today. And I'm starting to pity you. You're not in a good shape, Tiffany. And you know... I took Ian to his word, but I'm just a third party butting in here. Maybe he went a little too far.

She looks at you surprised:

Tiffany: Are you sure? It's nothing really. I'll do it nice and quick. And you're handsome too. That compels me more to do it. You know, girls enjoy their experiences with their customers sometimes.

You didn't expect it. But you're seeing it from the perspective of a man who lives a clean life, and doesn't mess around with other girls. She, on the other hand, routinely services multiple men. She simply doesn't shock by merely providing sex, it's become routine to her. And maybe she sees you as a reprieve from the not-so appealing, not-so clean middle-aged men that must comprise a good part of her Johns.

Julien: Well, seeing you in such a state, I don't feel I'm really into it, sorry. So I'm not sure we'll get too many repeat customers, come to think of it. I think I want to help, so here's what I'll do: I'm going to shop for groceries, for vegetables, meat, etc. Then I'll come back here and make you a proper meal. I can make you many portions so that you can cook them in the microwave in the coming days. Unless you start eating better, you're going to languish. So let's do that as a first step.

She smiles

Tiffany: Oh, thank you.
Julien: While I'm gone, please call Ian to tell him that the issue is solved and you won't do it again. Don't abuse my goodwill, ok?
Tiffany: Ok, promise, I will. Who are you, by the way?
Julien: I'm Julien.
Tiffany: Nice name. Ok, see you later.

You think you handled it pretty well. You leave the hotel, and go to a nearby grocery store. Fortunately, there is a refrigerator in her room, and a small oven. You pick a lot of vegetables, and think of recipes that you used to sometimes cook at home for your children. This will allow her to feel better and to be in better shape.

After you pay, you go back to the hotel. You've been gone for about an hour all in all.

You approach her room, and you knock. No response. You think that's strange. Did she decide to flee? That would be surprising. It's well-known that although technically, nothing stops her from leaving... trafficked girls have some sort of invisible leash that keeps them captive. It makes them too afraid to try to rebel or flee, sometimes for years.

Seeing that Tiffany doesn't answer, you try to open the door. It's locked. Maybe she's just afraid of who could come in.

You use the magnetic card you took before you left to unlock the door.

Julien: Hey Tiffany, I'm back! I'm going to make something that will be pretty deli---

What happens afterwards goes pretty quickly.

You turn right towards the bathroom, and you see a horrific scene: Tiffany has made a makeshift noose with a shirt, which she hung onto the ceiling of the bathroom. She was on the edge of the bath, and she jumped down. She's now hanging from the ceiling, and starting to choke. Her face is blue. She looks about to pass out.

Julien: TIFFANY! NOOO... NO NO NO NO NO NO! WHAT ARE YOU DOING????

Fortunately, you are a well-trained veteran cop and you have sharp reflexes. you dump all your groceries on the floor, you push the half-opened door. You run up to Tiffany, who is on the verge of choking. You jump up and hang onto the makeshift noose. As you do, the noose cannot bear so much weight, and tears up. Tiffany and you fall onto the floor. After that, Tiffany coughs repeatedly. Fortunately, she quickly finds her breath again.

Phfew! You saved her from the consequences of her terrible decision! She came really close to disaster.

You hug her.

Julien: Tiffany, it's ok, it's ok, don't worry. You're safe now.

Tiffany start crying uncontrollably.

Tiffany: No it's not ok, Ian is furious! He says he'll never be able to repay the people hounding him! He lent me a lot of money so I could buy drugs! When I called him, he said I was useless, a stupid whore, and could never make things right!

After you ask her, Tiffany said that Ian has loan sharks hounding him. He used to be her boyfriend, but since he found she became such a burden, he stopped, and had her prostitute herself, saying he would maybe consider to make up with her if she made enough money with customers.

That loser!!! So not only did her keep her famished, he manipulated her from the start. Because that story, of course, is a load of baloney. It is the typical approach of pimps to turn an innocent girl into an obedient slave making money for them. First, they will be sweet and protective, make them believe they are their boyfriend... and then turn abusive. And they will make up a story or some sort of threat for an urgent need for money, to further incite their victim to do this kind of work.

If you listened to yourself, you would go back to the house right now, and beat him up so severely that he'll have to go to the ICU as a result.

But sadly, as of now at least, you need to maintain good rapport with him. So, you need to handle this tactfully.

He clearly exaggerated, so you will handle him. You will also try to keep Tiffany around, to keep an eye on her, so he can't abuse her again.

Julien: Tiffany... don't do this. It's Ian who went too far. Everyone will lose if you commit suicide, you more than anyone. Things will improve, I promise. I will deal with Ian. I will expand his business, he'll make more money than before. And you know what? I brought girls with me... I'll have you meet them later. They will be your friends. You'll have more people looking out for you.

You look at her straight in the eyes.

Julien: And I promise you that I will never let anyone else hurt you.
Tiffany:T... thank you, Julien. You have a good heart.

As she says this, there is a knock on the door.

Tiffany:Oh no, that's a customer! I had completely forgotten about it!
Julien: You're not in a state to do this. Let me handle him.
Tiffany:O... ok.

You open the door to find a disheveled middle-aged man. He is puzzled by seeing you.

Man:Err... you've not finished yet?
Julien: I'm sorry, Tiffany is a little under the weather right now. It wouldn't be a good experience for you. Here, let me give you this for your troubles. (You hand him $40).
Man:Ok. Nothing too serious I hope?
Julien: Not really, but tonight's not her night. But don't worry. If you'll agree to come back in a few hours... I'll have another girl ready for you. In fact, we have three new ones. Let me describe them to you, and after that, tell me which one you like best. Give me your number, and I'll call you in a few hours, then you can come back and she'll be there.
Man: Oh wow that's great! It's no big deal. Yeah, sounds like fun! What are these girls like?

You describe each girl to the man. Gloria is red-headed with short hair. Amanda has long brown hair, is tall and big-breasted. Maria has dark hair and is the smallest of the three, but has a cute, innocent face.

Man: Any of those is fine! But if at all possible, I'll have Amanda. I'll be waiting your call!

You wave him goodbye and close the door.

Tiffany: Thanks for having arranged things. That was my only customer for the evening. And... thank you for having saved me. I haven't been quite myself lately. You kept me from making a serious mistake.

You hug her again. You think to yourself that you will treat her like one of your daughters who was in trouble.

Julien: Let's do something, no more customers for now. I'll give you time to recover. Only start again when you're ready. And... I'll make you the meals I promised you.

You spend your time cooking a meal. After that, you and Tiffany eat it together. That girl looks famished... and whatever she ate, that was not good.

You also make a cup of gynostemma tea for her, telling her to drink this instead of coffee from now on.

Then, you tell her that you will take a walk outside a little and call Ian.

You're not worried about Ian getting upset, honestly. You've dealt with people long enough to know that he will not oppose much resistance to you. He's an insecure kid trying to act though and overdoing it. You have way more mental strength, confidence and life experience. You are pretty sure that he'll follow your lead pretty easily.

But first, you call Amanda. You tell her the situation.

Amanda: Oh my God! Thank goodness she's alright now! Come pick me up and I'll help you fix the room and take care of it. I much prefer servicing that customer than staying in this house... Ian is such a pathetic blowhard. It will almost be like deliverance not to deal him hitting on us and boasting non-stop!

After that, you can Ian.

Ian: Hey dude, I don't know whatever you did, but when she called me, Tiffany was so sorry and willing to make things right that it was almost pathetic! I'm impressed! I gave her a piece of my own mind too!
Julien: Ian, that girl is a complete wreck now. You went a little far. I know these girls need to learn their place, but if you destroy them in the process, you end up regretting it.
Ian: Well, if she gets to be too much of an hassle, we can always sell her or dump her somewhere, right?

You can't believe it. Ian is willing to dump her like trash, after having squeezed her dry like a lemon! You want to beat him up really bad right now... you quickly compose yourself.

Julien : and how will the other girls react? Do you think? Even if you hide it, they can sense it. Word eventually gets around. And what goes around, comes around. You simply can't push these girls too hard. They have to enjoy being around you and working for you. That's the main thing I've learned after years of doing this. When you get too cruel, it always backfires.
Ian: I guess I went a little over the top. But you have more experience, you must know what you're doing. I guess I have a lot to learn from you.
Julien: I told her customer to come back, that she wasn't feeling well. Honestly, he would've just had a bad experience. I told him to come back later, and asked Amanda to replace her. He seemed really enthusiastic.

I told Tiffany we would stop the customers for a little while. I'll have Jessica keep her company for a little while, shell keep an eye out on her and help her recover. She can start again after.

Ian: Ok. It seems you fixed everything. Thank you. And I have something else to tell you. I want to to meet another rascal tonight. We're going to bring the girls and have some fun too. We're doing to a local nightclub, the Shooting Star. After Amanda is done with the client, come pick up the girls, and come meet us there at 10PM. We can relax and have a good time too.

Julien : ok, great. See you later Ian.

After that, you go pick up Jessica and Amanda. While driving Amanda to the hotel, they introduce themselves to Tiffany and have a chat. Tiffany finally starts smiling again. She seems to appreciate the prospect of having new friends.

You all go back to the hotel room and clean it up, throw out the litter. Then, you leave Amanda inside. You then call the customer.

The customer answers immediately. He seems to have been waiting with bated breath for this time to come. You tell him he can go back to the hotel room.

The three of you talk for a while in the car while you drive around, exploring Truro in the meanwhile. After an hour, Jessica calls you to say she is done. She's taking a shower, and you can come pick her up.

While you are driving, you receive another call from a certain someone.

Man: Wow she was great! That girl was hot, and she knows how to please a man! You'll see me back for sure!

You then go to the hotel room and wait for Amanda in the parking lot. She arrives, and hops in.

Julien: So, not too terrible, I hope?
Amanda: Oh, I've seen much worse. I left him really happy and satisfied.

Now that it's done, it is almost 10PM. Time to head to the Shooting Star.

First, you go back to the house to pick up the rest of the girls. On the way to the Shooting Star, Tiffany is delighted to meet even more new friends.

The Shooting Star is a small, nondescript establishment. In a small town like Truro, it doesn't have much competition in the realm of entertaining venues, truth be told.

You and the girls get out of the car and enter. There are only few people inside. Ian and some of his girls are already here, along with Ryan, and another young man that you've never met before.

When he sees you, Ian turns towards you and smiles.

Ian: Hey, Julien, come here! Let me introduce you to Tom!
While the girls talk among themselves, you go to meet up.

Tom: Yo man, what's up? Respect. Heard you want to help us expand.
Julien: Yes, let me elaborate on that.

You discuss for a while with Ian and Tom about your projects. They seem very taken by your ideas. You tell them that you want to first bring some of their girls on the South Shore of Montreal. You talk of a motel in Greenfield Park, on Taschereau Boulevard, that could be a good spot for them to take incalls.

As the three of you talk, four men enter the Shooting Star suddenly. They wear leather jackets and shades, but very much like Ian and Tom, they look like young men trying to act though.

One of them who appears to be their leader looks around and sees Ian. When he does, he walks towards him. The other patrons seem nervous at the sight of him. They know he and his men are up to no good.

Man: Ian, you f*****, what the f*** are you doing here? This town is our territory! I told you to never come back already!
Ian: This town doesn't belong to you Dave, get over yourself.
Man: If you won't understand the nice way... we'll deal with you the hard way. (He looks towards his comrades). Guys? Take him!

Ian looks scared as they motion closer. You however, are not intimidated by these punks.

You calmly stand up, blocking their way.

Julien: Ian doesn't want to be bothered by losers tonight. Begone.

Dave looks at you, amused that you want to confront him.

Dave: Who are you? What's with the funny accent? You're not from around here, are you? Sounds like a Quebecer. A frog in the house tonight!

You look at him coldly.

Julien: You're trying to act so though... but you're a pathetic little boy inside. You must be past your mommy's curfew, too.

Dave starts chuckling. Then looks at his men.

Dave: Well, guys, looks like we're going to have to give Ian's new frog friend a good lesson. Then, we'll deal with Ian.

The four of men start to raise their arms.

You say nothing. You smile at them menacingly. You crack your joints, and flex your muscles. They don't look so confident anymore.

Julien: What are you waiting for? Bring it on, boys.

Little does everyone watching you know that you have a secret ace up your sleeve. Indeed, you use to be a wrestler. Not a professional one, but one of your favorite hobbies was partaking in local wrestling matches, usually organized in community centers. Of course, most all of wrestling is nothing but theater with some pseudo-gymnastics involved... but it's also tauught you how to fight. Something that has come in very handy quite a few times in the past.

Poor they, really. They don't stand a chance. You spent a good part of the evening thinking how badly you wanted to beat the pathetic Ian. Now, you get 4 losers, 4 despicable human traffickers for the price of one. It's just past Christmas, and you see it as a belated gift from Santa Claus.

How are you going to deal with them?

A)Throw them on each other.
B)Throw them on the surrounding tables.
C) Grapple them one by one and choke them.

The four men look confused and start freezing. You, on the other hand, have been aching for it. You're delighted.

You grapple the guy closest to why and start choking him. He is unable to escape you, as his three accomplices watch in horror. Since this guy is slim, you lift him up your arms. Then, staring at Dave who stands them in shock, you throw him on Dave. The two men crash on an adjacent table. The rest of the bar crowd looks terrified and most people flee, the barman taking refuge in a back room.

Then you take another one of the men and grapple him again. You push him on the ground, climb to a nearby table, and jump on him. He screams in pain.

Taking a good look at the last man standing, you tell him: "So, you want to f*** with the frog as well?"

He laughs nervously: "Oh, no no no no no! I'm leaving!"

Then the rest of the men painfully start standing up and walking toward the door. Dave turns to face you, and says:

"You've won this time, Ian. But you and your butt-buddy frog friend won't have the last laugh. I'll get both of you eventually, and you will pay dearly."

"My name is Julien by the way. Call be by my name or I throw you on the table again."

"Fine, Julien, whatever. Your turn will come! You hear me?"

"Yes, I hear you, I'm no afraid. Now go home to cry to mama, asshole."

You've easily won this round, and had a blast doing it. The trio, Jessica, Ian, Ryan and Tom all stare at you in awe.

Ian: Awesome, man! You gave them a good ass-kicking!
Julien: Yeah, but you didn't tell me about them. What were they talking about?
Ian: Oh, these pricks think they own the place. They...

As Ian says this, people enter the bar. "It's him!"

You turn around and find one of the patrons pointing his finger at you. Two police officers accompany him.

Officer: Alright, you're under arrest for assault. Come with us.
Julien: Awww man, not the pigs. Alright, I'll come with you, but I was just defending myself.
Officer: Sure, that's why you threw someone on a table like a maniac. You'll have to explain that to the chief.

With that, you let them take you.

They bring you to the Truro Police Service.

While they do, you do your best to sound like a brazen criminal. You tell yourself that you will tip off the chief about what you are doing.

The two men escort you into the interrogation room. Soon, an older officer enters, which you presume to be the chief.

Officer: "Do you want us to stay?"
Chief: "Nah, probably just some drunkard. I can handle it."

The two officers who arrested you leave. Then, the chief sits, reads you your rights, and starts interrogating you.

Chief: "I'm Commander Peter Drake. So, I suppose you had too much to drink and started picking a fight? That's dangerous, you know. You could have seriously hurt someone."
Julien: "Sir, I'm in fact an agent of the Sûreté du Québec. I am performing undercover work on behalf of the RCMP, attempting to infiltrate a human trafficking organization."
Peter: "Very funny."
Julien: "I'm not joking sir. Want to call the boss in Halifax?"

When you say that, he takes a serious turn. You talk to him about what you've done so far. However, you decide not to mention anything about Patricia Campbell. You don't know if the Rascals have a mole in the police, and the least people who know about it, the better. If needed, René can tell Commander Drake about it at some point.

Peter: "Oh, I see. I'm sorry detective Marcoux. Well, in fact, tonight's incident might be a good thing. The Rascals will trust you more after this. But as far as I understand, this Dave guy and his henchmen are part of another rival band of sex traffickers called the Deadly Moose. They are competing for trade in various cities across Atlantic Canada, and you just happened to be caught in the crossfire.

At least, I hope it felt good to give these bastards a good beating. I'd love nothing more than to see them all behind bars."
Louis: "Actually, I'm surprised that so much trafficking goes on in plain sight. Girls stay in hotels, receive clients, and nobody does anything. Not the hotels, not the police... nobody lifts a finger."

Peter looks slightly aggravated.

Peter: "Look detective, there really isn't much we can do. You know it just as much as I do, I'm sure. The issue with human trafficking and forced prostitution is that the victims need to testify, but they're under very strong mental conditioning. So much so that they will refuse to say anything not to incriminate themselves or anyone. If they refuse to talk, we can't do anything. We can't monitor what they are doing behind closed doors. I'm sure you understand the predicament we're in. Plus in Truro, we're a very small police force with very few resources. We can't do an ambitious operation like you're doing."

After talking to the chief, he says he will tell the other officers that he believes you acted in self-defense and that he will not press charges, on the condition that you avoid going to this bar for 3 weeks. He will play the part in front of the others for now.

After that, Commander Drake escorts you out of the police station, scolding you on your way out (but blinking an eye at you).

Outside, you find Jessica and Ian waiting for you.

Ian: "So?"
Julien: "Well, he believed me that I acted in self-defense, so he warned me not to go back to that bar for a while, but I'm clear."
Ian: "Ok, good. Glad it went well."
Julien: "Still... I didn't know about the Deadly Moose. In fact he seemed to be aware of them. I've seemed to understand that they are rivals in regards to the trade."
Ian: "Yes, you got it. This town is getting too heated for now. So we're going to go somewhere else. I'd like to give you an assignment. Can you go to Moncton for a week, and try to drive up some business there with your girls? We'll reconvene after that."
Julien: "Sure, on one condition: I want to bring Tiffany with us. That girl is on the verge of a breakdown. She needs a change of scenery and to relax a little. We'll keep an eye out on her. We'll try to lift her spirits so she can start serving clients properly again."
Ian: "Sure, I understand. I see I went too hard on her now. You're quickly becoming indispensable to me, so that looks good for the partnership. I'll tell the boss about it, he will be pleased. He's still remaining hidden around here for now."
(As you thought, he must be guarding Patricia constantly. They are very paranoid of revealing where they are to anyone."
Julien: "Seeing as I didn't expect Deadly Moose and it looks like I made them upset, I'll make a few calls. I'll try to get some more guys I know to come here and help us out."
Ian: "Ok, I'll meet them in a week. In the meantime, here's where you can crash in Moncton (he gives you the address of a house). Also, you can keep the girls at this motel, they let us operate in peace (he gives you another address).

You say goodbye to Ian and Tom.

Julien: Bye, kids, take care of yourselves. Watch out for those assholes.

After that, you hop in the Dodge Caravan with Jessica. When you two are alone together, she complains about the fight in the bar.

Jessica: That was too risky, Louis. You could have gotten killed or seriously hurt.
Louis: Well, they went out of their way to provoke us. I don't really have any regrets, to be honest. Plus, Ian trusts us even more now thanks to it.
Jessica: This is the one point that encourages me. He's just an obnoxious kid. He kept asking questions about you when we were with him at the house earlier.
Louis : He's not going to push me around, he's going to mostly follow what I say, based on what I saw so far. But I think that bringing up his boss and their "secret" is too risky. They must be really paranoid about it. Apparently, they're hidden in a secret location, and they only get her out, presumably at another secret location, only for VIPs who have the means to pay a premium for her.
Jessica: How disgusting. People using their money to have sex with a girl who has been kidnapped and brainwashed.
Louis: No doubt. I say we keep giving him services for a little while, then we try to know a little more about the girl in a subtle way, if he doesn't bring it up first. Or maybe he will when one of those VIPs show up. I doubt it would be as simple as following the VIP though. They probably have a complicated system in place to elude people following them.

Then, you arrive at the house, where you pick the trio waiting for you, along with Tiffany. Tiffany seems a little better than before. Still shaken, but in the car, that you are now driving toward Moncton, her friendly chatter with the trio suggests that she has starting to become friends with them now, and to lean on them.

As you drive towards Moncton, you are determined that she will never be tempted to commit suicide again, and that you will try to shield her from further harm and to bring her back to her parents as soon as possible.

However, even that is not so simple. She probably still believes that Ian is her boyfriend and she just needs to work hard and make money for her to gain back his favors. Even if you tried to set her free and to explain to her how he manipulated her, or even if he gets arrested, she'll probably just be in denial and make rationalizations.

You vow to find a way to eventually make it happen.

Then, you arrive at the hotel. You end up deciding to leave Amanda and Gloria there for the night, along with Jessica to look over her. Ian sent you a message, saying that he'll refer customers to you when he receives requests.

You, Maria and Tiffany head towards the house. Ian told you to look for a key in the mailbox.

You finally arrive at the deep blue house, which is actually not in Moncton, but in Dieppe, which is another city right next to it, that has predominantly French-speaking Acadians. The two cities are so ingrained in each other that they are frequently referred to one and the same.

The three of you exit the car. You easily find the key and open the door. You then turn on the lights.

The house is barebones. The refrigerator is empty. There is a small living room with a sofa and a Chinese HDTV. There are a few rooms with basic accommodations. Ian gives you the wifi password by a message, which you give you the girls. You tell them to make themselves comfortable, while you go get groceries.

While in the grocery store, when you're about to pay for your order, you are surprised to hear the clerk speaking to you in French. Indeed in Dieppe, although English and French are both common, French is commonly spoken. You just didn't really realize that this deep into Atlantic Canada, there was this big a community of people speaking French.

You then go back to the house. You make a meal for the girls.

Then everyone goes to sleep in a separate room.

After sleeping for about two hours, you are awakened by the door opening. It's Tiffany.

Tiffany: I don't feel good. Can I come here?
Julien: Yeah, sure baby.

This is a little awkward and uncomfortable, but you are not willing to let Tiffany on her own if she's in such turmoil.

Tiffany: Thank you for earlier. You saved me. I owe you my life. And I feel better now that I've spoken to your girls. They encouraged me.

She stays by your side in the bed. It seems she's scared and confused, and you make her feel safe. You decide that maybe you can allow it to her for tonight, but just this one time.

Julien: I won't let anyone else harm you or abuse you ever again. Even Ian. They've probably told you what I did to those men who were harassing us the other tonight. If Ian treats you like garbage again, he'll receive the same treatment from me. I told him to leave you the f*** alone, and he agreed.

She seems to be at peace after you say that.

But then, laying in the bed, she turns towards you. She approaches her face towards yours. And tries to kiss you.

Uh-oh. Maybe it wasn't a good idea after all. She's obviously desperate for affection and comfort. But how can you handle it?

You pull back. She looks confused. You think for a little while. Then you have an idea.

Julien: Sorry, Tiffany. You're a pretty girl, but it just doesn't feel right. I think I know why. You remind me a little bit of my own daughter.

Tiffany: Oh, you have a daughter?

Julien: Yeah, and a son too. But obviously, my wife didn't really appreciate my lifestyle. So after a point she got fed up, divorced me, and left. I'm not even allowed to see my kids. I miss them so much.

Tiffany: Can you tell me about them?

You then tell a few stories about your children and some of your activities as a family. You then tell her that you can show them to her just once, if she keeps it all a secret.

You use the second profile discreetly on your phone to display their picture. You then show it to Tiffany.

Tiffany: Oh, wow! You're at the beach! It must have been fun times. I understand why you miss them.

It seems to have worked. This way, you can become more of a father figure to Tiffany, and not a man competing with Ian to be a boyfriend.

After a while, Tiffany starts to look sad. She starts crying.

Tiffany: I miss my daddy!
Julien: Maybe I can allow you to call him for a few minutes tonight.
Tiffany: Ian told me it's really not a good idea. He would never understand. He would be embarrassed and ashamed of me. Also he would report it to the police and they would trace the call, and come to harass us.

(Unsurprisingly, Ian brainwashed her to think trying to get support in any way was a bad idea).

Julien: Just keep it brief. I can make your call untraceable. I know how.

You install a VPN app, along with an IP phone app. You log from a server in British Columbia. Then you tell her she can call.

She's nervous, but does it.

Tiffany: Daddy... daddy? It's you? It's me, Rachel. Don't worry about me, I'm safe. I'm with people who take care of me. Tell mom and Brad that I love them very much. I just wanted to hear your voice.

(So her real name is Rachel...)

You hear a loud male voice "Tiffany? Where are you? We're worried sick about you! Come back to us! We're your parents!"

Tiffany: I can't right now. Sorry, I'll have to hang up, please don't insist. Just give me some news about the family.

Her father then resigns himself that he will not get his daughter back, at least not now. Still, he seems relieved that he has received proof of life. After a few minutes of updating Rachel, the later thanks him, and says she will hang up. He tells her goodbye.

(Soon, you will have your daughter back. I promise to work hard for it)

Tiffany then looks at you and smiles.

Tiffany: Thank you, Julien. I feel much better now.
Julien: Well, go back to bed now. It's probably better this way. We'll try to take things easy tomorrow too.

After she leaves your room, you also breathe a sigh of relief. You seem to have handled the situation well.

You take a much deserved night of rest.

You dream of playing a wrestling match again Ian, where the latter loses miserably, while the girls cheer you on...

(Unsurprisingly, they still view women as ticking time bombs, ready to fall into error or sin at any point, that can only be saved by submission and guidance from a man, and kept at a distance whenever possible,...)

I am still catching up on this masterpiece but one part made me do a double take. I guess you've changed your mind on this?

Also Hello Friend told me he would likely to contribute but is currently trapped in his house, terrorized by an aging naked man using a chainsaw as a propulsion device to endlessly ice-skate around it. It is a tragedy. But I will throw in votes when I am able.

James is the only one who abstains from drinking alcohol. Due to him being Amerindian, he knows it would do him no good.
Wait, what?

It's well known that Amerindians, especially those from Northern tribes, cannot handle drinking alcohol at all. It's genetic, it drives them violent and mad. On many northern reservations, the sale of alcohol is banned.

LOL, no. Never change, HHR-chan.

That is an old wife's tale originating from when colonists observed drastic effects of alcohol on native americans and first nations people. AFAIK prior to contact with settlers, their use of alcohol was sparse and largely ceremonial, so a lot of that was due to culture shock. Of course, this simple explanation does not necessarily rule out a genetic one, and it is possible that different ethnicities metabolize alcohol in different ways or have other genetic risk factors, however
1. This issue has been studied it has not been established that genetics play a significantly higher role in the rate of alcoholism among this demographic compared to others (here's one specific study I found)
2. Even if so, the effect would not be so drastic as to render people unable to "handle drinking alcohol at all" or "drive them violent and mad," as a rule, particularly not after a single standard drink or two. Apparently the rate of predisposition to alcohol dependence is something like 50% in the general population, so the world would be a very different place if every other person went crazy or became an an alcoholic after knocking back a few. Certainly, if one has a family history of alcoholism, abstinence is probably a good idea, but that goes for everyone.

I believe it is true that in US and Canada, native americans/first nations people are over-represented in alcoholism-related deaths. However the many causes of this become apparent once you consider the common problems faced by those demographics and the conditions of the reservations. The fact that some reservations try to ban alcohol is natural when you consider that any poor community is particularly vulnerable to alcohol, which is hardly a unique problem.

Over the next few days, you settle in a routine. You never thought you would run an escort service one day, but there you are. At this point, customers start calling you directly. Sometimes, the girls take incalls, meaning that customers are given appointments to the rooms where the girls are located. At other times, you take outcalls, and have to bring a girl to a hotel room, or sometimes even to a customer's place.

All in all the customers seem to be greatly appreciative. They like your French girls, which are brand new, attractive and offer them excitement. They do not cause trouble. Positive word of mouth spreads.

All kinds of men use these services, according to the girls. For the most part, they are middle-aged men who have to deal with wives who lost almost all interest in sex, or sometimes younger one who are just lonely or horny. None of them have mistreated them so far. Some end up being repeat customers, and recommending your service to their friends. Through this course, you end up accumulating a fair bit of money. You store all the proceeds in a safe place for now. Although the girls are willing participants, you do not want to give them too many customers. You try your best to ease their burden as much as possible.

Tiffany tries to rest and heal during this time, and you develop more rapport with her. You take her out to eat, to the movie theater, you walk and drive around. You try to give her a semblance of positivity and normalcy... as much as it is possible to.

Then one evening, while she is in the house, Gloria calls you in a panic:

"It's Tiffany! We thought she was asleep, but she was only half-asleep. We were a little careless, and we ended up talking about the operation. But Tiffany was awake in the room next door and listened! We went out of the room and into hers and she just stared at us in shock. You have to come here and intervene. Our cover is blown!"

Oh no. Indeed, you have some explaining to do with her. Hopefully, this doesn't sabotage the whole operation. At this point, you are confident that she would lean more towards you than towards Ian... but you know how much the mental conditioning of pimps can run deep. You try to think of something.

You arrive at the house. You enter, and in the living room, you see Gloria and Jessica looking at you, pointing you towards the room in which Tiffany is. They don't know what to do.

You open it nervously.

Louis: Tiffany, looks like our secret is out.
Tiffany: I'm just so confused now. I don't know what to believe anymore.
Louis: Maybe it's better this way. I'm detective Louis Marcoux. I work for the Sûreté du Québec. I was called upon here to help with an operation, to infiltrate Ian's group. We know there's a very important girl that they're holding captive in a secret location. They let wealthy men have their way with her for a pretty penny.
Tiffany: I guess it makes sense now...
Louis: Tiffany... well, Rachel, since that is your real name... I'm so sorry for all the foul things I said to you when I first met you. I meant absolutely none of it, and was only playing a character, for a very precise end. I did my best to extirpate you from Ian's claws. Because what he has been doing to you wasn't right.

Rachel takes a moment to think... then speaks again.

Rachel: You don't understand him. He's not that bad.

Just as you thought, she still clings to him. So long as this remains, there remains a danger that she could tip him off somehow. But when what to do? Do you let her go, and tell Ian that she has run away? That doesn't mean she won't go back to Ian eventually.

Suddenly, you think you have a brillant idea. You know how to sway her away for good. But it requires some persuasiveness. Lucky for you, you are Mr. Persuasion.

Louis: Rachel, Ian doesn't care about you. When he made me go see you, he told you I could have sex brutally with you. Does that sound like the behavior of a man who loves a woman?
Rachel: Well, maybe I kind of deserved it. I'm not always easy to deal with. Plus I promised I would help him. I don't want him to go to jail, if at all possible.
Louis: Let me do something right now, Rachel. I'll make you an offer. I'll call him right now, and offer him to buy you off, and you'll be able to listen to every word. Let's see what he really thinks of you.

Rachel looks at you with wide open, nervous eyes. But she nods approvingly.

You call Ian.

Ian: Hey Julien, what's up? Apparently business is very good. I had feedback from customers, they're very satisfied. You're doing good.
Julien: Thank you man, I appreciate it. However, I think it's going to be difficult to do something with Tiffany. She's really messed up and unstable. She's going to require a lot of effort. So I thought about it, and I would like to make you an offer: let me buy her off of you. Once our deal is formal a little later, I will give you the payment.
Ian: Hmmmmm.....
(you hear only silence for a while. Rachel just stares at you and listens intently, looking panicked. What is Ian going to say? Is he really going to just get rid of her so easily? The man who promised her so much?)
Ian: I thought she was burned out too. Things have not gone as smoothly as they did before. She did become kind of a burden. And she's always nagging me too. Soo... for $4000, she's yours.

(Rachel opens her mouth. You rarely saw a girl so shocked in your life. She goes through great pains not to make any sound.)

Julien:Well, that's a little much. I'm going to have to take a lot of time to get her back to normal. $3000 and no more.
Ian: $3500.
Julien: Ok, since I like you, I will agree to that.
Ian: Ok, but you're the one who tells her. Man, she's going to be so pissed when she hears it! She really believes I only have eyes for her and we'll be together eventually. I just do whatever it takes for the girls to put out with customers.
Julien: Yeah, I get you. You always have to keep an edge over them.

After that, you turn off the phone.

Rachel stares at you in shock. She stays silent for a few minutes.

Then finally, she stares at you, and talks.

Rachel: I... I've been very foolish, detective Marcoux. You've opened my eyes now. Ian never cared about me. He only used me to make money, by pressuring me to sell my body to random strangers. And, about earlier... don't worry. In fact, although you have acted very convincingly... part of me knew that you were a man who meant good things for me. I saw it when I looked in your eyes. They were ones from a man who didn't want to harm me, but rather from a man who wanted to help.
Louis: Sweetie... I'm so glad. Remember what I promised you. I'll never let anyone hurt you.

The both of you hug.

Rachel takes a few more minutes to think.

Rachel: Louis... I'll help you. I'll act as if nothing happened. I'll do what I can to help free that girl. And Ian and the Rascals as well. I hate them after I realized what they've done to me. They must be stopped!
Louis: Rachel, you're putting me in an impossible position. The other girls have all been deputized. You, I still consider you a victim. It's difficult for me to expose you to strangers. Strangers who will expect sex from you. Plus, who knows what other kind of risky situation could come up?
Rachel: I've done it a lot already. Doing it a little more won't change much. Plus, in escort services, sex is not explicitly offered. It happens between the escort and the client, but it's left up to them. So you're not really forcing me into it.
Louis: I don't know Rachel, I don't know... not for now, at least. But thank you. I'm so glad we don't have to pretend anymore. But there might be another way to help us: tell us anything you know about that girl, and the measures they take to keep her hidden... and to bring customers to her.
Rachel: Hmmm... I don't know much. Ian is not the real boss. The real one is a man called Carlo. I don't know if that's his real name or not. I only saw him once or twice and from afar. He looks like a man who could be Italian. But, if there's one thing I know, it's the name of one of the customers who went to see the VIP girl. I saw him in the house while Ian and him were discussing it. That man is well-known, since you're from Quebec, I don't know if you've ever heard of him: Brian Primrose.

The name Brian Primrose means nothing to you. Primrose, however, is a name you remember. The Primrose corporation is very well-known in New Brunswick. It's a conglomerate that owns a lot of gas stations, in Atlantic Canada as well as in Quebec and in Ontario, an oil refinery, and pretty much all newspapers across Atlantic Canada.

Louis: You're not talking about... someone from the Primrose family? That family, that owns all those gas stations?
Rachel: Yes, he's one of the executives.

Hmmmm... now that is interesting. If Rachel doesn't know anything about the operations pertaining to the kidnapped girl... maybe Mr. Primrose would. Of course, approaching him is risky. The Primrose company has an army of lawyers, owns the press, and they can be very agressive.

However, as you suspect he would be desperate for words of his deed to never get out... you think that it might be a way to glean information off him.

But for that, you don't want to act alone. In fact, it's time to make those phone calls. You need other agents to come help you.

Ok, I am all caught up. In my estimation this is a top-notch drama second only to the legendary Trapped in the Closet opera by Richard Sylvester "R. Kelly" Kelly. Good hunk-on-hunk action, too, people constantly getting pinned down and throttled and so on, you know how to appeal to certain prurient interests.

Small technical errors and contrivances aside I think you have done an excellent job in realistically portraying the grit of Canada's criminal underbelly while telling a subtle and emotionally complex story. I am rarely emotionally responsive to art due to a host of crippling mental illnesses that prevent me from developing an affective empathy beyond its most vestigial form, yet the Mylene romance brought tears to my eyes due to how real it felt. I could almost imagine myself as a vulnerable, confused tradcon fe-male, falling head over heels for a dangerous & sexy stranger with a chip on his shoulder and a heart of gold.

I have also taken more practical inspiration from your work. I have encrypted all the apps on my phone, and before reading, I always brew up some gynostemma and hire a harem of sex workers (in Minecraft) for full immersion.

I await the next installment with bated breath, brother.

You call René, and make a report to him. He agrees to send over the infiltration agent who helped you the other day, Kyle Freeman, also nicknamed "Mr. Smile". Cool and collected, Kyle is experienced, yet proficient.

You also decide to call your old friend, Maxime Duchesne, who you think must still be in vacation in Vancouver at this point. You know Maxime because you used to work for the SPVM (Montreal municipal police), and before he joined the secret service, he worked there alongside you. Recently, he has been busy with what he has described as a complex case, involving a "rising star" in the secret service.

Maxime: Hey Louis how's it going? Winter is not bumming you out too much?

You tell him what you have done so far.

Maxime: Wow, that's kind of messed up. Still, you handled it fairly well. And now you want to interview someone from the Primrose family? They are very vindictive and cautious as far as I know. They are biiiiig in Atlantic Canada, everyone is scared of them. This new recruit I work with, he's on friendly terms with two journalists in the West, who owe him a great deal for many stories he has provided them. So if Mr. Primrose doesn't want to cooperate, you could tell him that journalists who are not under payrolll of the family could help you... well, tell this in a subtle way, of course.

Louis: Yes, you kind of told me about it. I think your cult intrigue is over now, and most of it has been dismantled, as seen as far as I recalled? And that guy is actually the son of Frank Ramsay? That's pretty incredible. So what's next?

Maxime: We're going to train him and he's going to infiltrate more groups. He needs something, some kind of evidence that his father has hidden, and some of these people have a key that willl allow him access to it. I'm eager for you to meet him, in fact, I think the two of you will get along well. While he is doing this, your job will be to go in Quebec City... because apparently, the Skull Riders have teamed up with a cult, or have become part of it, it's not too clear... but Ramsay was really scared of them. You need to find out what's going on.

And in fact, I'm probably going to go there with him soon. There might be a minor operation where he would be useful, in which they need an English guy. Well, I'm loathe to have him interrupt his vacation. In fact, he's on a honeymoon. Believe it or not, but he ended up marrying one of the girls from the cult, rescuing her from it. I think she turned him more religious, actually.

Ok so if you'd need another agent, I was thinking of Raphaël Jolicoeur, he's also a detective in Quebec City, he works for the SPVQ (municipal Quebec City police service). I will call Nolin, explain the situation to him, and tell him that Jolicoeur is needed there to help you. Wait for news from me.

Louis: Ok Max, thank you. Bye.

After you end the call, you are delighted and shocked at the same time. Jolicoeur! You've heard of him, and you met him once in a meeting in Quebec City. He's a one of a kind. A very talented agent... but everyone knows his peculiar temperament. While a good man at heart... he is also very abrasive, fussy, argumentative, intense. He is extremely well-read and bright, and always trying to come off as a know-it-all. But, sometimes these are good qualities for a detective.

For sure, things won't be boring with him.

Later, you get confirmation from Maxime that Jolicoeur is available. He is taking a flight to Moncton.

A few hours later, you pick him up.

Raphael: Louis, I vaguely remember you. Curse you, for having me come to such a boring place. Anyway, good to see you again.
Louis: Glad to see you as well, Raphael.
Raphael: Well, at least, Nolin told me that this was a mission spent in the company of hot chicks. So I'm all for it!
Louis: Well, part of it, haha. We'll also be joined by detective Kyle Freeman, who works for the RCMP in Halifax. Nice guy, I think you'll like him.
Raphael: Too bad he's English.
Louis: Well, give him a chance, we can't all be perfect.

You drive back to the hideout. You enter. You find out that detective Freeman, "Mr. Smile", is already there waiting for you.

Kyle: Oh, detective Jolicoeur! Je suis très content de vous voir!
Raphael: Moi aussi, Mr. Freeman. However, you have work to do on your pronounciation. I had a hard time understanding what you said.
Kyle: Haha, of course, and I'm sure you'll help me to do this. Sorry, I forgot most of the French I learned in high school.

(Jolicoeur's abrasiveness comes through again. It's a little rude, honestly. Freeman has shown good intentions, and yet, he gets rebuffed bluntly because his pronounciation is not up to bar. Sadly, it is frequent. The few English Canadians who take pains to learn French, are often met with looks of disapproval, impatience or aggravation from French speakers, which is a vicious cycle, because it discourages some of them from even trying.)

Raphael: Ladies, I'm glad to see you. I'm Jolicoeur.
Rachel: You have such a sweet name.

After that, all of you discuss what you are about to do. You convene that you will go with either Jolicoeur or Freeman to Saint John, where Brian Primrose lives a few hours drive away, to try to get information from him. The remaining detective, either Jolicoeur or Freeman, will get in character and remain with the girls to pursue the pimping activities.

Which begs the question, who do you want to bring along? You have two men who are polar opposites of each other. Who would be best suited?

A)Bring Jolicoeur. We need a daring man not afraid of confrontation.
B)Bring Freeman. We need someone who's calm, diplomatic and doesn't get angry easily.

A. Whoever stays behind will need to act under cover as a sex trafficker so the hot-head may blow our cover with his righteous fury.

Moreover,

Raphael: Ladies, I'm glad to see you. I'm Jolicoeur.
Rachel: You have such a sweet name.

We must separate Inspector Sex Machine from our harem at once lest he turn this wholesome yet inexplicably horny christian adventure into NTR faster than the main antagonist of Ugly Advance ONYX Taking Ordeal: Gaiden.

Lyric's idea is better

While I do partake in roleplaying of nearly every variety, I do not consent to being Lyric Suit.
He merely said Lyric, or do you have problems with being Lyric Robe too?

Yes, actually. When I was a wee lad a Lyric killed my parents. And the worst part is? It didn't even feel sorry.

It was a-muse-d.
I guess Lyric Coat is out of the question.

Don't know why I did this. Was likely just tired, been reading a random post of Lyric Suit and just mixed the two names. Sorry

I don't think it's very realistic, only very superficially so, in parts.

What I mostly wondered was, what would an heroic fantasy story look like in today's society? So instead of knights, you have cops, vigilantes and the outcasts they meet that live on the margins of society, versus criminal gangs, cults and corrupt wealthy people and politicians.

Their motivations and behavior is not necessarily realistic, and some of their goals as you will see later, quasi-fantastical. The villains are countered by people who decide to help each other to enforce some sort of moral good in a harsh environment.

Also I talk about the tensions between the English and French in Canada, how the former don't know the latter much because of the language barrier (and the reverse is often true) and have some sort of tension, resentment and disdain for each other, and also a lot of other ethnic groups and subgroups that live in this country. They learn to know each other better, see beyond stereotypes, and realize that it's only by doing this and working together that they can save this country.

After mulling it over, you decide Jolicoeur would be the best fit. A more daring, confrontational man seems like the better option, over an overly diplomatic one.

And there is also another reason underlying this choice. You don't think he would make any moves on the girl, as Jolicoeur has a good reputation.

What he will definitely do if he stays around them for too long, however, is completely burn them out due to his world-weary attitude.

He's only been here for a few hours, and already he ranted about various conspiracies and things that pissed him off, in intricate detail. He simply won't stop. The girls listened out of politeness, and most of what he says actually is interesting... but there's only so much cynicism these girls can bear.

These girls have been through so much already. How much more can they bear? Jolicoeur seems like the type who is always angry, who sees the whole world around him as an endless series of injustices. This gets to be so much that it actually almost comes off as more depressing than being trapped in human trafficking, as awful as it sounds. At least, you presume, thinking yourself funny, that at least with sex work, there's the occasional gentlemanly client that raises one's faith in humanity a little bit. Jolicoeur however, has a heart ravaged by bleakness that constantly oozes out, and nothing positive comes out of his mouth.

Still, you have no doubt about his talents and character. You presume it simply must be kept under control.

After telling him you want him to accompany you in Saint John, he says he has a plan. He says to give him 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes have passed...

Raphael: Louis, I got Primrose's cellphone number. I also know his whereabouts tomorrow. He's having lunch with some local VIPs from the business community and municipal councilors. I got this while phoning his office, and passing myself as a Montreal businessman interested in a partnership.

(Impressive. He sure lives up to his reputation. He seems to have already figured out how to force him to cooperate with us. As he says this to you, he has a very confident, delivish look on his face).

Raphael: If you follow my plan, he won't be able to weasel out. But we'd also need Rachel to come with us. Is that fine?
Louis: Well, I'll bring Rachel here, and then you'll explain your plan to us. Then we'll see.

Raphael explains everything...

Rachel: It sounds kinda cool in fact. I'm in. I'm glad I can help.

After entrusting the girls into Kyle's care, you, Raphael and Rachel drive for a few hours, until you arrive to Saint John's. You book hotel rooms, and leave Rachel in hers so she can have some rest.

Then, your next step is the restaurant where the meeting will be held tomorrow. It is called Maritime Delights, a very popular high end seafood restaurant.

It is 8pm when you head to Maritime Delights.

You step into the scarcely busy restaurant. A waitress at the reception smiles at you.

“Yes, a table for two?”

You show them your badges.

Louis: We’re detective Louis Marcoux, and Raphael Jolicoeur from the Sûreté du Québec, deputized by the RCMP. We’re conducting an investigation and need to speak to the manager.

Waitress: Oh, I see… wait a few minutes, please…

The waitress heads into the back of the restaurant into a room… then she comes back with a man wearing a suit.

“I’m the manager of this establishment. How can I help you two gentlemen?”

As he says this, you notice Raphael grinning. He seems to mean to say “This man is about to get it good!”

Raphael: Do you mind if we discuss this in your office?
Manager: Certainly. Please follow me.

The three of you head into the manager’s office. You both sit at his desk.

The manager sits on the other side and looks at you two puzzled. He seems to think “What exactly do they want?”

Raphael: I believe that tomorrow, at noon, Mr. Primrose is having lunch with a bunch of VIPs, at your restaurant. Is this true?
Manager: Well… yes, yes it is true. You’re well informed.
Raphael: In which room will this take place?
Manager: We have a separate dining room for events like these, to the left of this office. That’s where it is to take place.

Raphael smiles again.

Raphael: It won’t take place there. Once Mr. Primrose arrives, you will tell him that unfortunately, there has been some water leaking in the room, and you have to give them an adjacent table in the main dining hall. Furthermore, you will give a table that can take at least three, in relative closeness to these tables.
Manager: What? What are you saying?

The manager looks really shocked, and seems aggravated.

Raphael: Please don’t make this more difficult than this needs to be.
Manager: Who do you think you are? Why would be inconvenience our esteemed guests? Important businessmen from St. John’s, and even the mayor will be attending the lunch. I will not go along with such an absurd ploy. What in God’s name are you trying to accomplish here?

Raphael grins even more. The manager seems to be getting slightly worried, noticing this.

Raphael: Oh, such a shame. But sir… just so you know, I had an uncle who worked for Revenu Québec. And, he specialized in tax evasion. At some point in Quebec, they instituted a mandatory electronic registry of all restaurant transactions, to combat tax fraud. And you know what he told me?

The manager seems to start getting really, really nervous…

Raphael: He told me that all restaurants owners are really, really nervous when it comes to the government investigating their records. Because you know, they have small margins. And it gets tempting, let’s say… not to report quite everything that they sell. So… you wouldn’t want me to sic the CRA on you, do you?

Manager: Ahahah… well… well… probably, we can come to an arrangement…

(The manager is done. He has to give you both exactly what you want. No wonder Raphael was so confident. He knew his weak spot beforehand.)

After you’ve obtained the “reservation”, you go back to the hotel room. With Rachel, the three of you convene on what you will do tomorrow.

On the next day, at noon, the three of you go to Maritime Delights.

Waitress: “Hello! Table for three? Or do you have a reservation?”
Louis: In fact yes, we do. I’m Louis Marcoux.
Waitress: Hold on, let me look at our registry…

The waitress then takes you to your table. On the adjacent tables, set against the wall, you see that Brian Primrose and his guests are already there, discussing. All guests at the table seem to be businessmen. You also recognize the mayor, based on you looking him up in a search engine the day before. The guests are ordering.

After a few minutes, someone also comes to take your order. You decide to wait a while until you get your food.

After 45 minutes or so, most people have started eating, and Mr. Primrose is starting his speech. He tells of his projects for the city.

Raphael look at both of you and smiles. You know it’s time for you all to start.

Louis: Tiffany, thank you so much for having had the courage to come to us. You’ve been trapped with these shady men for a long time, and you’ve been brave to get off their shackles and contact law enforcement. You’re safe now, Tiffany. These men will not harm you anymore.
Tiffany: Thank you detective. You make me feel better. I know I’ve made the right choice.

(Suddenly, you notice that some of the men on the next table are taking glances at you. Unsurprisingly, although they try not to let it show, they’re very interested in what you are discussing).

Raphael: We can help you, Tiffany. These men deserve to be behind bars. Justice must be served. And for that, we need you to testify in court. If you accept, we’ll have a case. We can get a prosecutor to give your tormentors the jail sentence that they deserve, to be punished and hopefully see the errors of their ways.
Tiffany: I don’t know… I’m still scared of them. This is so difficult. (she sobs)
Louis: I know it hurts Tiffany… in fact, I haven’t been through what you’ve been through, so I can’t really comprehend the horror you were subjected to every day… but if there’s one thing I’ve known, it’s that as scared as you are… you must do it. Think of the other girls who are still trapped, Tiffany. Think of those that these traffickers will ensnare. And think of the johns who resorts to having sex with trafficked girls. All this must stop.
Tiffany: I know… you’re right… (she starts to stop sobbing). I too want it to all stop… I’ll do it.

(By now, the men on the next tables are not following Brian’s speech all that much anymore. They all can’t resist listening intently to your conversation. Brian himself notices this, and looks annoyed, but tries not to let it show).

Louis: Tell us more about what these people have had you do. You don’t have to include any sordid details.
Tiffany: Well, Ian and Carlos had us sleep with many men, and intimidated us if we refused. They even had some men who looked like VIPs to come in.

At the mere mention of the names Ian and Carlos, Brian becomes white as a sheet. For a few seconds, before composing himself. Tiffany only saw Brian from afar, talking to them both. He knew he wouldn’t recognize her. Ian and Carlos on the other hand… they both told him their first names. He’s starting to catch up that something is about to go very, very wrong for him.

Brian excuses himself into the bathroom, pretexting his pressing need to go there.

As he does so, Tiffany starts sobbing again, while Raphael calmly sends a text message to his number.

“If you want us to go away, you come meet us at our hotel room tonight at 8pm. Else, we’ll take great pleasure in telling exactly what you did, in front of the whole business community.”

After a few minutes, you have your reply.

“I will, I will. Just don’t make me lose face in front of everyone.”

Tiffany keeps on sobbing.

Louis: Tiffany, obviously, this is too much for you all at once. Things don’t need to be solved in one day. We will do this again another day.
Tiffany: Ok, detective Marcoux. Thank you for the support. Maybe I just need to change my mind a little. I really have been through a lot.

The three of you then leave, under the concerned look of the businessmen on the table.

Brian comes back, and gives you a worried look. Then he goes back to the table, and resumes his speech.

The three of you leave and wait until the agreed upon hour in the evening...
