DD1 was basically Sickdark Kantai Collection so this was only natural.

Wayne June voices a new character, the one you see in the intro (some dead scholar).

Mighty range on that man, huh?
I mean he’s got a great voice, but why bring him back to play a different character?

Because his voice is one of the most iconic things about DD, would be my guess.

I'm way out of the loop for this one, but wtf happened to the Mountain of Madness theme the sequel was supposed to be about?

I see. Damn, I was expecting it to be like the Lovecraft novel, a little at least. Like you building a camp, progression like in the first game, at least that it what I had in my head for the sequel, not this... at all.

Driving the cart, trying to run over debris piles because they sometimes have loot in them is... not something I expected in a sequel to Darkest Dungeon.

So wait, they made it an actual roguelite with permadeath.
But then they also made it a roguelite with permanent upgrades
    Ahem, gay.

DD would've been awesome with a wireframe dungeon and faster combat

Considering that the only thing the games excelled at was the animated intro and (maybe) some of the atmosphere created by graphics... yeah i see it working.

Wait, that's you being ironic and me being slow. Self-[IMG]

darkest dungeon is the most overrated roguelike. Extremely repetitive and grindy.

It gets better as you go on and reveal more of the plot, at least on the first playthrough.

It's really more of a game to play when you're bored, so it's mostly streamer bait.

Honestly, there isn't much difference between it and the avg cellphone game as is, apart from the lack of microtransactions.

I dislike the rng in this game, it feels rigged. I have abandoned any hope of finishing the first act and I just keep playing for fun.
I enjoy the atmosphere and the various skills.

Wow, biggest group of pussy bitches in any game ever.

I get the idea that adventuring is stressful but these are the gayest bunch of faggots I have ever seen. "Healing a teammate? I hate you." "Defending a teammate? I hate you." "Killing an enemy? I hate you." Are you kidding me??

There's no effort here to make the threats actually scary, just to make your characters a bunch of whiney tools.

The fanfic crowd loves this dumb feelfuck shit.

Prolly went all shy on the last games affliction system because having irreparable (and self-diagnosed) mental damage is cool these days so stop being ableist, GRAMPS.

From a gameplay perspective it seems impossible to avoid the negative feedback loop of everyone hating each other. There's always more chances of bad than good, so bad is what you get. And you can't ditch early to try to repair a setback, you're not even allowed to use items outside of an inn. It also seems impossible to recover from losing a party member; even FTL let you recruit more dudes.

I suspect there's some rubberbanding going on since things go bad fast but its kind of hard to die, so theres this sense of everything going wrong but you still somehow pull through. Its probably what they were going for but its too obvious and feels artificial.

If you want to beat the game invest your first mastery in either Man-at-Arms Bolster or Plague Doctor's Ounce of Prevention, they both do AOE stress heal. Keep stress below 4, around 4 is when they begin to talk shit to one another and snowball from there. You can play ultra bitch and take green/easy roads, a lot of a successful run is going to be about making everyone have good relations with one another on the first map. If this doesn't look possible, just restart.

I'd also not go to the Tangle since the enemies tend to be pretty beefy, a lot of them have death's door and the war drummer/knight can be a bit of a bitch. The Dreaming General boss is also a real motherfucker if you go in blind.
