No.Does anyone here have anything positive to say about consoles or gaming in general since 1998?
In the end of fucking 2015 year most exciting gaming news are of new Doom mods/wads and translation patches for forgotten, obscure japanese titles.
Bloodborne would technically be PS4's killer app. There's also stuff like that Ni No Kuni and Nier sequel, though that's up in the air in terms of if it's worth it or not. The Wii-U has plenty of exclusives, like Bayonetta 2, Smash 4, Xenoblade X, etc. Xbone has..uh. Halo? It's been close to 4 years, and there is still not a single 'killer app' exclusive to the current generation consoles. My ps4 has been collecting dust since Bloodborne, so I sold it off.
Consoles have lost all their advantages and have copied the worst aspects of PCs, like constant updating, always online and pay to play bullshit. PC gaming has also become more like consoles.

How? Are you talking about the games themselves or the hardware?
Bayonetta, bloodborne and ni no kuni hardly classify as a killer app in the same way that tetris, halo and FF7 did. A killer app is a game huge amounts of people including non gamers are willing to buy an entire console for just to play.
PC gaming has been consolefied in the last half decade thanks to digital distribution and games being developed with console ports in mind. The barrier of entry has also been lowered in both price and knowledge. Things like steam boxes will push this trend even harder.
Where did you hear that? Isn't Ni No Kuni 2 being made by Level-5? They've never done anything PC related, and they're heavily affiliated with Sony. Sega has been getting pretty comfy with the PC, but I'm not sure they'll fully jump ship with Yakuza, either. The Yakuza series might make the jump. It has been heavily hinted that Ni No Kuni 2 will also have a console release.
Unless Valve actually forces the Steam OS for their games and makes it chock-full of more DRM, that doesn't sound so bad. Well, at the very least, I won't feel compelled to get a PS4 ... unless the ports suck. There is no console anymore. The unification of gaming is coming to an end, whether we like it or not, with the good things... and the bad things.
