Atlus Demikids / other obscure SMT's

After almost 2 years of playing I'm running of Megatens :/ I mean, of the ones that are either translated or emulated, at least until Devil Summoner 1 and PSX Soul Fuckers are finally translated.

I decided to give a Demikids a go but it looks terrible, my precious companions that saved my ass during former campaignes against Lucifer, Zelenin, Izanami, Shinado, Babel etc. are now some cute pokeymanz :/ How about gaem mechanics, did any codexer finish it?

What's your opinion about Last Bible and other obscure spin-offs that are both emulated/translated?

IIRC Demikids and Last Bible games weren't developed by Atlus themselves - the actual developer was the company behind that Ronde game.
Actually, you can try Another Bible, afaik that's the only translated Majin Tensei game for now.

until Devil Summoner 1 and PSX Soul Fuckers are finally translated

...so how many

I can tell the ones I played, almost all to the end....

SMT1 (neutral)
SMT2 (law)
Nocturne (TTE on hard)
Persona (Snow Queen quest + main route)
Persona 2: Innocent Sin
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (that one was the longest, time counter stopped at 100h)
Persona 3 PSP (good ending, still have to beat or watch The Answer from PS2 P3:FES)
Persona 4 (True Ending)
Devil Survivor 1 (Amane route)
Devil Survivor 2 (Daichi route)
Raidou Kuzunoha vs Souless Army (played a little, read LP for the rest)
Raidou Kuzunoha vs King Abaddon (chaos)
Digital Devil Saga 1 (played until Zebra, read LP for the rest but, using someone else's save file, KILLED DAT FUCKING DEMIFIEND BEST BOSS BATTLE PERIOD )
Digital Devil Saga 2 (read LP for all but I'm hunting for save file to kill satan)
Strange Journey (chaos)

... and now I can tell I kind of scratched the surface :salute: What's awesome, all of them, even the ones with some obvious flaws, are quality games!

If you remove all of these ports, remake's, enchanced editions etc. there're slighty less stuff but still, it's an impressive number.

OK, so create AN ULTIMATE MEGATEN LIST with all games except remake's and point out which do not include moonrunez.

BTW I fucking despise MMOs but I'll make an execption for Imagine one day.

Check the wikia for Megaten series, I don't care if they have moonrunes or not.
Devil Summoner is decent as fuck, actually. Pity that you can't play the best SMT spin-offs ever.

I tried it like 3 times and ended up quitting 6-8 hours into it. If you have played "real" SMT games its hard to stay engaged with those, they were clearly trying to get some Pokemon fans and younger children to try out the series.

I'm able to run it (I have original Xbox modded to pass region lock) but it's still in Japanese :/ I'd love to have translation hack. Comparing to PS2 games NINE seems to be made on different engine.

I forgot there'll be SMT...IF English patch soon, a missing link between main SMT and Persona.

What's so bad about it Damn, SMTs are addictive as hell, is is over for good geamz? I haven't 3DS to play SMTIV/Persona Q, but maybe buy PS3 for Persona 5 when it finally got cheap in Potatoland.

Well, you can always get the translated script and give in to Devil Summoner. I got into it rather quickly.

Or you can keep pussying out of playing Majin Tensei series by yapping about your inability to play games in Japanese.

Have you played Megami Tensei 1 & 2? They are not in your list. I have only played the first one (actually the the SNES remake) and it is a fairly decent dungeon crawler.

What's so bad about it

The 3D graphics are terrible. Like worse than some n64 games bad. The really bad animations make it even worse.
The gameplay is terrible. It's randomy real time crap
The character cutomization in literally 8 samey outfits with a pallete swap you can unlock

There's nothing good about it

You mean Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei right? Good point, it's seems like last proper SMT available for PC players.

Here's a list for you:

Majin Tensei
Majin Tensei 2: Spiral Nemesis
Ronde
Another Bible (English version is available)
Devil Summoner (English script is available)
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
Megami Ibunroku Persona (because no PSP version will offer you the original experience)

You don't need to know Japanese to beat and enjoy these games. If you want to play some more SMT games about THIS much, then language barrier won't stop you.

Ehmm... with slow, unskipable boring persona summong animation and clunky interface?

Nope sir, I prefer 'better experience' than 'original experience', whatever is means and PSP Persona 1 with PSX music hack is a way to go. It's pointless anyway, after beating both routes this game has zero replayability now.

Did you play it on PS1 anyway or you're quoting some little bitch? Because I had no issues with the interface.
Plus PSX music hack doesn't bring back some of the best ingame tracks due to changes (thanks, Meguro).

There're the similar changes done with Persona 2 PSX-PSP ports, battles got huge speed boost, know gives you an info about hitting weaknesses / strong points etc. but most important are ability from Eternal Punishment to skip persona summoning animation and auto-battle. Basically is Persona 1 with Persona 2 interface features. In such grindy game (for SMT standards) watching all his shite in slow-mo would be unbearable.

So you didn't. I rest my case.
