Thinking of buying the new version of the Descent boardgame. I played the first edition a lot all those years ago when it came out, but haven't kept up with it.

I understand the new version is tethered to an app, which I dislike in theory, I think it might work for this game since the setup of previous editions was pretty tedious.

Of greater concern, however, is that game materials might be pozzed beyond reasonable ignoring - i.e. diverse trans dwarf stuff. Has anyone played it yet?

Do you mean for 2nd edition? Or us there a newer version out? I haven't played in a while, but the app is mainly for groups who all want to play as adventurers, instead of a single player as overlord. Imperial Assault has a similar app. One thing that is quite nice is that the dungeon is revealed as you play, rather than the entire layout visible from the beginning.

I honestly don't recall any pozziness, but it has been a while.
