I was half-expecting that they'd call this game Divine Divinity II: Divine Disciples of the Divine Dragon Lord of Divinity.

I remember the fist game was originally just called Divinity: Sword of Lie, and then being dumbfounded when they renamed it Divine Divinity.

Art style reminds me of Gothic 3 meets TW. Which is not bad, the armor is a bit stupid looking but it at least seems to be avoiding chain mail bikinis.

I've never played DD, I might go try it. That second dialog shot is pretty tasty, they seem to be avoiding the Mass Effect style of things. Wonder how the writing will be.

Divine Divinity had a horrible title

I'm currently playing DD and there was this one conversation where PC jokes about Duke Janus being hailed as "The Divine One" and refers to him as "Divine Divinity". I think the name is meant to reflect the humourous nature of the game.

^ Yep, as Keldryn said it was supposed to have a different title but they switched it. Hell, even Beyond Divinity was supposed to be called Rift Runner but they changed it to BD to keep it in line. Elona/Iona refers to him as "His divine Divinity" in the vein of "His honorable majesty", i think.

Calling this Divinity 2 is fine, and since i'm not all serious business about games i was more than content to have a little humor in the game, even in the title.

edit: Kiril is working on the soundtrack again - awesome

That NPC's facial features look pretty good actually. Alot of them in recent RPG's look goofy (See Oblivion) but that one looks pretty promising.
