I started the Game with a friend of mine and we had a little problem at the beginning.

The murder mystery at the point where you may discover that the body is missing. I did that via reading the journal int he morgue and confronting roberts who admitted that the body was stolen and gave me his suspects. But the Boss of the legion would not talk to me about my suspicions until I actually dug up the grave.
Is that a Bug or did I do something wrong?

Night Goat I assumed that was the case, but I expected some minimal level of acknowledgement (like some note he forgot at his house I somehow missed or more of my characters noting it) after the blatant command to confront him.

Combat is a lot easier after I got higher level spells. Opening with a lesser fireball, being able to quickly block off passages with flaming tiles. Ran into the skeleton baron and it showed me I'm still not all powerful though.

I don't think I even talked to the guy but I got to the next step in the quest anyway.

    You mean melee characters?

Get a good 2H weapon and they are monsters. Stack buffs and spam whirlwinds, after level 7 our melee starting doing the most damage of all our characters in our co-op playthrough.

Use Wildfire and Oath of Desecration to give them haste and +50% damage. Use Bless if you're having trouble hitting.

Also, leadership is a must-have. Without leadership my melee has 68% chance to hit, with it 100%. Also gives stuff like crit chance, extra damage, immune to fear, list goes on and on...

Leadership should be on one of your casters, since it applies to everyone but the person who has it.

Killed Braccus Rex. Thought I was gonna die cuz I aggro him and he spawns the last 3 bosses, basically, and then pelts me with meteor storm putting my two guys to 20% health. How the hell I beat him on first try is beyond me. Based fire elemental tanking and ice elemental did most the damage to him while my ranger pelted him with ice chunks and my mage kept buffing and resummoning elementals in between ice staff pew pews.

This game lets you use all of your toys. It's so great. And spells have so many chain reactions; oil + fire + boulder which does poison goo and exploossiooon.

Even when you incrementally upgrade an attack spell or healing spell it's worth keeping the lesser one so you can cast it the next turn and not wait on the cool down.

Definitely looking forward to making a melee monster next time around.

One of my casters DOES (1 native leadership, +1 from gear +1 from dialog picks). Hit rate is still pitiful (and the damage doesn't do much to help). Best use I've gotten out of either ally I've picked up is from skills that always hit.

Yeah, fire elemental is pretty ridiculous cheese for all of later Cyseal areas. Just trivializes 90% of the fights--though kind of feels like that was intended to a certain degree.

Our leadership guy is up to 6 pts on our playthrough after gear, and we just left Cyseal region.

One thing that sucks is clouds and other LoS because it cuts off Leadership, and then you're back to missing.

    Are henchmen different than companions?

I've only seen two "hireables" thus far and I believe they are both companions.

You can only have a max of 4 characters in your party and 1 summon per member. Henchmen are just there in case you don't like one of the companions (Madora and Jahan). They have no dialogue/plot arcs, and each have different starting stat/skill allocations.

So far, Companions will have some dialogue from time to time. The hired people will not.

Some henchman have skills set in a way that you can't achieve normally. I saw a level one henchman that had five ranks in Man-At-Arms.

Pincer (the desperate aspergian crab): "Don't be a stranger! You're my best friend!"

So the philosopher ghost in the graveyard that wants to test your knowledge of his book.

I found his book, but it was completely blank pages on the inside. Is there another step to this quest I'm missing, or was this just left out?

Anyone else experiencing sporadic crashes (when saving the game) that result in save game corruption? Just had one in the first dungeon.

Problems when saving/loading are often due to a lack of RAM. Not saying that's your problem, but this is 2014, so 8 GB should be standard.

I've been running 64 bit for almost a decade, so not sure what to say in that regard.

I have 8GB ram (Win7 64 bit). The game does seldomly crash while loading. Never crashes while saving though.
