Larian Studios' Divinity: Original Sin Kickstarter closed yesterday at $944,282 in funding. However, with $37,256 from Paypal and about $15,000 from the RPG Codex and RPGWatch combined -- and taking into account that Paypal will remain open until May 10th, 2013, 12:00pm PST -- Larian have announced in Kickstarter update #35 that all stretch goals have been achieved, including NPC schedules and day and night cycles that influence combat.

Everything together we reached the 1 million stretch goal! NPC Schedules are in!

Hoozah!

Kickstarter Retrospective

This video shows what was going on behind the scenes during the Kickstarter campaign.

We shouldn't show you this, but we do it anyway. Enjoy!

As long as Paypal remains open, you can still contribute to our own Divinity: Original Sin fundraiser, of course, and get some really nifty rewards.

Donate more than a dollar then.
I've already gave more than I should to previous Kickstarters. I'm poor right now and that's it for me. I also have to create another paypal account since I changed my country of residence, but I certainly won't bother with all the banking shit for a $ or two. I believe I will be able to pay for the game by the time it is released. And for Torment and Shadowrun too. I hope. :(

Donate a buck and there's a possibility you might get a free D:OS copy from some of us who are getting about four of them already. ;)

*shivers* Fortunately, there is no such possibility right now.

1$ is not an issue money-wise, but I won't get into the paypal-bank trouble for it. The point for me is not to play the game for free, I can do it anyway on my ship. The point is to pay for something that I like and consider worthwhile. And that's what I plan to do. Thanks for the proposition anyway, bro. :)

I would guess it's Flemish and not German as you seemed to hear.

I always found dutch to sound rather cute in my ears.

"Roken Is Dodelijk"

:codexisfor:
Awwwww.....

Compared to

"Rauchen ist tödlich!"

yeah, I've once heard "neuken in de keuken" and found that very cute as well - until I've got the translation :)

I too become irrationally angry when I'm too stupid to deduce what language people might be speaking.

I always preferred "Rauchen kann einen langsamen und schmerz vollen Tod bedeuten" :D

(Smoking can result in a slow and painful death)
Here's how that translates to in romanian (slightly NSFW)

It makes me proud that the Codex & the Watch are tipping the scales for the win!

Fun fact: as much as I wanted to watch the final hours of the campaign, I couldn't due to a major internet outage in my area, which wasn't fixed until today.
Sucks, but imagine my joy right now. Congratulations, Larian!

On language: we all speak our own dialects here in Flanders. One is more brutal than the other. I can speak proper Dutch as well, but I only do that when I really have to, if the other person doesn't understand my dialect.
