I'm not worried about Kickstarter funding. As long as there's a compelling idea from a team with a credible track record then it'll probably be funded, this project's success while running concurrently with Torment and Shroud of the Avatar is proof enough for that.

I'm more worried about a bunch of "old school" RPGs coming to market within a year of each other. If developers can sustain themselves on crowd funding campaigns alone then it doesn't matter, but if they want multiples of that income then I think they should be careful.

Perhaps this is a good opportunity for a Humble Bundle, then.

This might be shocking to free market capitalist ears, but perhaps what we need now is an "Oldschool RPG Cartel". inXile and Obsidian are already doing this, coordinating with one another so as not to step on each other's toes.

WHat we actually need is "Oldschool RPG Mafia" that would break some limbs and bash a few skulls in. Decline never sleeps.

Wait til he wakes up with a severed transgender dragon head in his bed. Then we'll see what he has to say to our offer.

It's not fatigue it's simply the fact that Larian isn't as popular as Fargo, Obsidian, and others.
Didn't they sold millions of copies of Divinity 2? Well at least, some of those people that bought their games should know them. I guess that people just don't know this kickstarter even exist.

Regardless of the number keep in mind some of those sales are from people like those at Cheap Ass Gamer who are like 'oh this ARPG I've never heard of is $5? kewl I'll buy it,' and not dedicated cRPG fans or people familiar with Divine Divinity.

Update #3 went live today, it's a FAQ:

I'm going to play this in single player. Do I still have to walk around with both characters?

Yes. And you'll probably be walking around with 4 to 6 characters, not just two :)

Think of this as a party based game. It is not an action RPG. You can solo if you want to (just tell party members to "stop following"), but combat will be hard as nails if you try to take enemies on single-handedly. You will need a well-balanced party.

Perhaps Sven has temporary madness. I'm sure he will come to his senses and turn this into a FP Cover Based Shooter with Romances.
