Meet the heroes:
02.jpg

Steve, the guy who does tech support at work, a little bit of accounting, coordinate logistics, excel spreadsheets, monthly sales tabulation, makes coffee, update web content, pretends he's an average nice guy etc etc.

01.jpg

RK47, the guy who wants to go home and just play games. Eats KFC, and doesn't really give a fuck about other people.

This is their story:
Oh wait. Let's explain the mechanics of this LP.
No combat / magic skill will be picked.
None whatsoever. Everything else is gravy.
We'll discuss talent picks later. But I picked lone wolf as default cause we're not running with any companions.

03.jpg

Blah blah.

04.jpg

05.jpg

Nice bod. Our heroes immediately commence DISCUSSION upon the discovery.

06.jpg

07.jpg

08.jpg

Powerlarping lah.

09.jpg

We could've avoided this fight by sneaking past - but we rather take the EXP. Don't waste lah. It's easy enough.

10.jpg

12.jpg

Easy enough.

14.jpg

Let's loot it. There's no reason to skip unless you don't wanna waste time.

16.jpg

Inside, we learn fire burns. Also, we need water to extinguish fire.

18.jpg

Also, poison vapor can be detonated with a single spark of flame.

19.jpg

A candle would do.

20.jpg

We continue forward -

21.jpg

Kinda hate wasting fire arrow. But whatever.

22.jpg

We open a casket.

23.jpg

24.jpg

Larian, it'd be nice if we have some kind of Persuasion option here.

25.jpg

26.jpg

But nope. You gotta fight. All those Charisma points are literally useless for the starting 15 minutes. Happy yet?

27.jpg

29.jpg

Eurotrashed.
Exit the tutorial cave, explored the beaches for stuff.

30.jpg

At first I thought Steve can use this to increase Lucky Find with a crafted staff...

31.jpg

.....he's too stupid to equip it.
We also meet a talking shell...

32.jpg

33.jpg

Uh oh, looks like they're having a disagreement....

34.jpg

35.jpg

Space bar lah.

36.jpg

And so the shell goes back into the seas.

37.jpg

The sea-shell rewards us with some gold. Not bad.

38.jpg

Onwards...

39.jpg

They wanna take us to a wizard.

40.jpg

But RK wants EXP.

41.jpg

Oh boy, here we go again...

42.jpg

43.jpg

*SPACE BAR*

44.jpg

:retarded: Eurotrash.

45.jpg

Time to let loose with the special arrows. Poison, I choose you!

46.jpg

Splat. Steve! Use your fire arrow!

47.jpg

It's super effective!

48.jpg

Thundershock!

49.jpg

They're dead, Jim.

50.jpg

"RK, this is totally wrong lah. Why kill them? They only want to do their job lah."
"You're right Steve..."

EoCApp%202014-07-22%2007-52-13-46.jpg

"Wow, really?"
"Yes, I say that to get 3% Critical Chance bonus from Compassionate."

I will repeat, you cannot talk the skeletons or orcs into not attacking you. So the game forces you to play a diplomat who is also a coward, instead of a brave diplomat who holds his gorund and resolves things through dialogue.

Is the maker of 'Dance with the Rogues' still active? I can smell so much potential in the DivOs engine.

Shit to do in Cyseal
Get quest from Arhu (EXP)

01.jpg

Extinguish burning boat for EXP & REP

02.jpg

Drop off heavy shit by the waypoint.

03.jpg

Have argument over a man trying to stealing a fish...

04.jpg

Not supporting this guy gives Righteous - which increases Leadership skill. Regenade on the other hand - improves pick pocketing.
Leadership is one of those really good passive ability. A single point would suffice to buff your entire party.
It's probably worthwhile to invest in Leadership for a 4-man party but not so much in 2 Lone Wolves (We'll see)

Oh, Larian, you may want to pay attention: the bloody fish the man was trying to steal? It's not marked as owned.

05.jpg

This is nitpicking, but it's funny for a dude who just lectured another man not to steal, it turns out not to be an act of crime. Oh well.
Anyway enough immershun, we're not here for that.
We're here in the market.

06.jpg

Lots of shopping to do. But first, let's craft.

07.jpg

Special arrow is our primary 'options' in battle. I don't know how good they'll get - but since their damage is based on main ranged weapon, investing in DEX as primary attribute is a good idea.
A few rare ingredients like Pixie Dust is worth picking up at every level up.

08.jpg

And scan for those prized consumables.

08.jpg

Invisibility is OP in this game, and having a bottle ready is nice for kickstarter.

09.jpg

10.jpg

We invest in one. And drink it right away.
Before:
11.jpg

After:
12.jpg

That's a good investment.
More consumables to purchase is probably summons.

13.jpg

High level ones are really good, but we shouldn't spam. Situational summon are highly prized. The wolf here is immune to water magic, so we should save it for freezing encounters.
Back to quest picking...

14.jpg

This is probably why J_C raged - if you lose an argument here - it leads to a rejected quest for Arhu's Failed Experiment.
Hah. Take the bold option, I don't care. The trade off between Bold & Cautious is either +1 Initiative / +1 Sneaking. Since I won't be going for the OP Guerilla (Sneak) build in this run, I don't worry about that Trait Swing so much.

Oh, how about dem Pet Pal? Is it useful?
I discussed this with a few people and even I can't say it's worth it. It does offer a few unique quests - but not enough that makes this trait stands out. IMO if Larian actually cared about making Talent more attractive aside from 'A few are good (Translation: Brokenly OP) while the rest are trash' they should give Pet Pals a unique skill to Charm Animal. It's not much but it's kinda helpful in combat. Politician should have Charm Person etc. It's a start. I don't have a big idea yet, but we'll discuss trait list later.

15.jpg

Anyway, Pet Pal there are a few unique quests we can do - I'll show it off later, but small talks with random animals can give clues. But you can never use this directly. It's more like a hint to a quest. You can't tell the lady for example that her chicken witnessed the gravekeeper stole her sheep for example. It's a nice try though.

We also can pick up the Spirituality Trait from a beggar.

16.jpg

17.jpg

This is pretty cheap way of getting immunity to fear.
I don't know why Larian thinks it's OK to have Immunity trade off with Materialistic, +1 Loremaster (Identify Object & Monster Data)
I don't think Loremaster is that important, while Immunity to Fear is too good to miss.
Anyway, onward with the quest - speaking with the Captain Aureus will lead you to the scene of murder.

18.jpg

We can delay that a bit and instead clean out his barracks of any loose ends.

19.jpg

And chat up with Arhu on top about his failed experiment.

20.jpg

Not doing this would make a future encounter harder. It's nice to see Larian actually giving a damn about this.
Arhu also hints at how powerful alchemy can be in this game.

21.jpg

You just need Crafting 5 and a little trial and error - and it's accessible from level 2. Scarcity of the reagent might affect availability though.
Continuing on...

22.jpg

We spare a chicken, because it will give us 3% Critical Chance. (Yes, seriously)
And head upstairs to the Legion's mess hall to ...

23.jpg

What else? Clean it up.

24.jpg

0 Sneaking required.

Following that, I head over to the inn, and traded with the alchemist for more good stuff.

25.jpg

Magical Armor potion - Invisibility - Air Resistance.
I also picked up another good scroll of Teleportation from the Scoundrel Vendor at second floor...

26.jpg

If you talk a bit more, you can make her slip that she is a sorcerer.

27.jpg

Which gives you an opportunity to kill your only Scoundrel / Witchcraft Book vendor in Cyseal.
Since we're not that stupid, we let her go for a bonus to Pragmatism. (+1 Crafting)

28.jpg

So, how's the crafting in this game?
It's very, very forgettable. You just drag one item to another. If your crafting skill is high enough, the item is made.
You should experiment and eventually you'll find out what makes what.

Whisperwood + Flask =
29.jpg

Small Healing Potion x2 =
30.jpg

Air Resistance + Armor Potion =
31.jpg

There's no level restriction to these consumables - but the biggest issue arise if you try to craft equipment - those are scaled to your level.
So save up those raw materials for higher level when it's worth it.
Also, try to shop for Crafting++ Gear.
34.jpg

And so we've got Crafting Lv 5 within minutes of arriving in Cyseal.

35.jpg

The fun part starts soon, I hope.
:hmmm:

It's nice to have loremaster l5 on one of your characters, to check out monster resistances. Might not matter much in Cyseal, but the following maps will sport monsters that in some cases are healed by specific elements.

I'm not sure if you like the game or eurotrash. You're having at least some fun with it trying all these runs or what?

Yup. I got bored of the Ranger gameplay.
I got furthest with current co-op session.
I just go along with the flow anyway.
Gameplay wise I don't find the game that interesting past Cyseal.

I tried a little crafting this morning.
It's pretty simple. You combine Needle & Thread with Pixie Dust to make a magic tailoring kit.
Then you simply use them on Leather Scraps / Cloth Scraps.
What comes out are level scaled junk. :(
Kinda disappointed but one of the leather armor gives +1 Lucky Charm which allowed me to max out Steve's Lucky charm to 5.

I'm still in Cyseal clearing quests - will probably head out tonight.
Looking forward to the resource management when we start hitting battles.

I never did really bother about crafting and just finished the game last night. Still poured 70+ hours into it...

It would be funny though, if you finish the game with Steve and RK47.
There's a possibility of the main characters falling in love and forging their souls together at the end of the game..

Honestly, I prefer if they don't let you craft and instead spend unique materials to upgrade your gear.
Leather hide buff your leather armor. Cloth armor, scrap it, patch up your robes. Undead parts for poisoning blades etc.
And then unique crafted resources are earned when you beat a unique boss, then handed over to blacksmith to create a unique weapon.

Asking players to invest points on crafting is silly. What's more with the gear bonuses + trait, you only need 2 point of crafting to max it out.

IIRC that's how Two Worlds games did it.
Yeah I know I didn't misremember it.
I was so close to the end too, then I gave up due to turret sequence.
Another eurotrash feature is tying your accuracy of attack vs enemy's level.
The lower level you are the more likely you will miss.
Spells and skills are exempt from this, anything you throw - always hits. Except for the debuffs that might get resisted often. Hence fighters have to keep pumping their STR for accuracy & dmg while mages can just derp around, throwing debuff n see what sticks.
