After more than 20 years, the story of the Hero of Neverwinter finally continues in this epic new adventure from Luke Scull, fantasy author and lead designer of Tyrants of the Moonsea!

In the Ten Towns of Icewind Dale, the Hero of Neverwinter awakens. Stripped of their recent memories and left to die by a mysterious power, they must survive a dire threat to the dale as they seek the truth behind their abduction. The answers they discover will shape the very fate of the Forgotten Realms.

Explore the arctic wilderness of the infamous Icewind Dale. Fight snow goblins, ice trolls, yetis, and worse as you navigate the frozen tundra and icy wastes and uncover a sinister plot to unleash a rage-filled godling upon the North. Only with the aid of friends old and new will the legendary Hero of Neverwinter be able to recover their memories and prevent the Doom of Icewind Dale…

Features:
  • An expansive DLC with 10-15+ hours of gameplay
  • Navigate the world map to explore 14 areas in Icewind Dale including Icewind Pass, the Dwarven Valley, and the Reghed Glacier. Visit several of the famed Ten Towns!
  • Recruit from 5 different companions for your party, including returning characters from the original Wailing Death campaign as well as Tyrants of the Moonsea
  • 14 new monsters to face off against, including new creature portraits
  • 16 new music tracks and 24 new ambient area tracks bring Icewind Dale to life in all its majestic beauty
  • An official sequel to the Original Campaign that also ties in with the Shadows of Undrentide, Hordes of the Underdark, and Ossian Studios’ campaigns
Purchasing Doom of Icewind Dale will help support development of the rest of The Blades of Netheril campaign—an epic continuation of the Hero of Neverwinter saga and a love letter to Neverwinter Nights and its community.

Couple of hours in. Music is nice, cosy wintery atmosphere, some characters from OC and SoU. Also be ready to fight snow Trolls VERY early on so get that fire and acid ready my fellow adventurers.

I hate Bumdog but heard good arguments from Lilura years ago that NWN:EE is actually good because of expanded functionality for engine/modules/PWs... have to agree

I hate the new audio engine. Still feel the old Diamond edition is good enough--there are some cute new tricks in the EE toolset but nothing that really NEEDS to be there to make good modules, and EE existing means everything is made for it now, a bit of a shame but whatever.

Last year 3 best RPGs were 2 pixel art indie games and a DLC for RT. This year it looks like that a short campaign for a 23 year old game will be a GOTY contender. Since it is way better then any recent AAA slop we get (Yes including kc2). What the hell is going on???

In the sense that you don't really NEED a gearbox for a bicycle, but it sure as hell helps. There's innumerable improvements on the Toolset side but just to give you an example of what made me switch off the DE - I was making a dialogue-based puzzle in this hobby module of mine and it was run by *75* individual scripts, but once I swapped to EE, the new conversation script parameters let me cut that down to... 8. Or, just as an example of something you can't do on Diamond off the top of my head, effect tagging.

You don't have to switch to EE as a builder, the original NWN was a complete package and e.g. Swordflight remains a flagship series even as it continues development on the DE, but you also have tons to gain by doing so. It's got its own new set of issues but I say the good far outweighs the bad - basically, the DE's good enough but the EE's better, for both players and builders.

Ok, the hero of neverwinter lost his memory(you start from level 10) and then drowned himself in the lake. And now he can drown himself 59 times more, since he has 60 free respawns, like in swordflight, which is too much for a 10hr game(Swordflight ch2 had 40), and there is no way to choose difficulty, unlike in swordflight.

Character has retrograde amnesia: "Nothing after leaving Neverwinter". How he lost additional 10lv is not completely clear.

What an awful video. 2hrs completely wasted. Let me get the old one back... I can't find it. Oh well, this one will do.
