Strategy Informer chatted with BioWare's Robyn Theberge. Learn how BioWare injected a bit of adrenaline into the franchise.

Strategy Informer: Because the two art styles are so distinct, do you worry at all that there's going to be some kind of disconnect between the two games? Even the enemies look almost completely different.

Robyn Theberge: It's still the same world, you still have that connection there. If you play the blightlands demo you meet Avaline who's a Fereldan, and she travels with you to Kirkwall and eventually joins your party, and she has that connection to home. You've got your sister with you as you travel around at the beginning, and it takes place during the Burning of Lothering, it's happening in the distance, so it really does have that connection to the first game. We're just, you know, giving it a new look, we've injected the franchise with a shot of adrenaline, we've given it a unique, ownable look.

I think it's safe to say that Dragon age 2 will be the more horrible of the two. At least TES V would probably use Id's new spanken engine.

How many times have I seen people hoping for this?

Todd Howard said that Bethesda's next 1 or 2 games will be using Gamebryo, which means TES V is most likely going to be on Gamebryo as "Id Tech 5 can't handle large areas".

I had fun (lots) for what it was with Oblivion.

I did not have fun with DA. With the exception of the solid writing to be found in the "Origins" sections, it was a chore of ugly graphics and smarmy "clever" dialogue. Dragon Turd 2 will be turdier. I followed the development of the first game as much as one could, from the day it was announced. I couldn't care less about DA2. I feel pretty confident I will never play it.

However, I will gladly check my brain at the door and play the shit out of TES V, assuming it gives me a big, beatiful world a cool fucking sword and a horse with rippling equine muscles to ride around on for 100 hours. And I hope it is still TES with some upgrades-- frankly I would be less interested in Fallout 3 with swords.

Negative, sir. Negative. Twitcher 2 will be better than both-- although The Elder Turds 5 surely will be more fun as an open-worlder.

It seems to me that the only thing that will make Twitcher 2 truly turdy is if CDPR unleashes their inner potato and makes the game 10 hours long, with 50 hours of DLC available from GoG.

This could explain why they are so eager to get relatively inexpensive preorders already, and why they have said nothing about the game's length. Of course I dunno if this will happen; but I don't feel entirely confident saying that it won't, either.

That's true. It looks like they've emphasized even more the whole superhuman speed swordsman bit. Perhaps if they do it right, it could actually be solid and exciting button-mashing.

Looks like it will be a much more directed and tighter experience; seems to me that there won't be lots of opportunity for respawning filler mobs.

I have more fun reading Robyn 'No, no, it's totally the same, although completely different.' interviews than I had the whole time playing DA:O, so I guess DA2 is already an improvement.

If they'll make insta-win button for combat parts, the game may be playable for lulz. Especially with gay porn included.

Whats this stuff even supposed to mean? "ownable look" what? And the claims of having a unique art direction, looks like generic bland high fantasy, we haven't seen that before at all. I've got a feeling they are just making shit up as they go along, trying to find some reason for people to purchase their inferior product.

Come on guy's. If Bethesda took criticism seriously and applied its lessons, TES V could be more similar to Morrowind than Oblivion. And that can only be a fantastic thing. Just remember how much fun we all had with Morrowind.
