But without filler combat there would be... Say 1 hour of gameplay tops (not including romances/sex scenes).

Didn't you know? RPGs are only combat and story. Combat and story. That's all they have. Duh. I mean, didn't you know? Combat and story. Yep. Never been an RPG that has more in it than combat and story. Those are the two pillars of RPGs. I know, I'm an RPG designer at BioWare, and we're sort of experts about this kind of thing. So if there is less combat, then you need more story, and if you have more story you need less combat. I mean, what else could you even put in there?

Actually with no combat at all Infinite would still probably be 6+ hours. It's a long road with lots of pretties to look at.

I was using hyperbole, of course. 6 hours is also very short for an RPG.

Which Infinite never claimed to be (not saying you said it did).

Anyway was just making a point, that game is just as much about wandering as it is fighting. Dragon Age, like Mass Effect, is just as much about talking as it is about fighting.

Works for me if they were to take a fighting game approach to battles.

Moving away from combat/talking.
More sex fade to black scenes followed by ugly underwear and nightmarish bodies, I guess.
:troll:

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Kiil it with Holy Fire.

How come there is no gameplay footage yet? This has been in development for far too long. Are they having problems with the new engine or something?

They have lost many customers with DA2 demo"Clonespawn Wars", maybe they wont be showing anything but cutscenes this time.

Origins also had bizarre necks, its just that there was only one place where people's heads would turn round - Brother Genitivi's conversation segment back on the mountain temple. I remember this specifically because of his bizarre neck.

I was like :what: how could I have not noticed this before?

"Boring bald space commandos appeal to a small audience"

Mass Effect is Bioware's best selling game.

That's the thing, the interview itself was great. It's basically Gaider complaining about how the industry is driven by money and that design decisions these days are shaped by money, yadda yadda, and then getting called out and thrown a curve ball by the interviewer.

The troubles start for Gaider when the interviewer goes, 'so yeah, space commandos... boring amirite?'

Then Gaider goes, 'uh... sure.'

Then the interviewer goes, 'so, you're in a position to change this, amirite?'

To which Gaider replies, 'uh... no not exactly. I'm just a writer dude.'

Interviewer, 'but don't writers have a lot of input in, you know, the story and the characters?'

Gaider, 'no, see, we discuss things...'

Interviewer, 'also, why don't you guys make games outside of the sci-fi / fantasy box that, you know, mainly appeals to 18-25 male gamers?'

Gaider, 'well, you see, the 18-25 age group isn't exactly small, we can't just ignore them...'

Interviewer, 'and that's why you have Isabella, the sex crazed pirate character?'

Gaider, 'No, Isabella is more than that. Wait, are we still talking about feminism in games? I want to make it straight that I'm against the sexualization of women. You got that guys? I'M AGAINST IT.'

This is not your average Bioware /slurp interview.

Funny thing is even if your goal is to write a slutty pirate seductress Isabella is still bad. She's more out of a porn movie than someone who has real motivations or reasons behind their promiscuity. Also though I never romanced her I am 100% positive you can make her feel real love if you want. I'm not even wikiying that, I am so positive.
