Wrong how?
That's why i put the dots there. I don't know exactly what rubbed me the wrong way, i just found the game kinda ugly, environments included. The just seemed unnatural, with a "fake"/"plastic" vibe.
Linear games can have more beutiful environments than open ones, as they generaly have less space to focus on. In DA2, that wasn't the case.
Well, I never said that there's only one problem with DA2's art direction. But I get what you mean.

Edit: better thread
Well some details about Inquisition have come out. Gaider confirmed that people could "play" elves or dwarves in single player. Though it wasn't specified that you could make it the player created character, which leaves them wiggle room akin to the Rachni playing a big role in the final battle of Mass Effect 3.http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/371/index/17096503/2#17096625

Other info, nothing new beyond the hype they've been saying all along. Horses, open world, they want players to feel they have agency.

health doesn’t automatically regenerate after encounters, so managing your risk and resources is important

yesss the butthurt of casuals will flow strong.

Player races is a direct result of our time extension. If we were still releasing this year or early next year, they wouldn't be in.

cant wait to play as a female gay dwarf inquisitor fighting from horseback for lgbt rights

This is actually a surprise.

It's a surprise, but it's not too surprising.

Bioware always likes to look like they're appealing to the breadth of the fanbase, not just the sycophants. It's just that every time they do something good, they do two things bad to make up for it. Like they can expand the character roster, but then they lose the main plot and equipment. They can create a bunch of unique maps, but it turns into linear missions without any exploration.

So maybe there's no automatic regen of health, but everyone has self heal abilities.

Isn't the game coming upon (or maybe even past it already) its original release date? And yet they can only show pre-alpha footage of the game.

All the DA2 promotional materials were revealed as pre-alpha footage by the lead PR person right before release.

in short: game was supposed to come out at first around fall 2013 but hopefully someone at bioware went to ea ceo sucked his dick dry and begged for more time. allegedly they are using this time to include more playable races than just human faggot. fuck me defending bioware:mad:

And that turned out to be an incomplete mess. I wonder, then, if the same will happen here.

I'm inclined to think that they realized it would bomb miserably after the reaction to ME3.

So, depending upon your optimism.
1) Bioware was able to argue for more time to avoid repeating the mistake.
2) EA decided to delay the release simply so people would have lightened their feelings about the mistakes.

That's assuming the second part of the phrase is a lie. Which wouldn't be a first, but if you're going there you might as well as ignore everything and just focus on the horse's ass.

And, besides, of course its a big surprise. Strategic resource management wasn't an oddball in DA2's design, but hp regeneration was a given since Origins. Meanwhile, I doubt there's anyone who still cares about the former in BioWare's fanbase - there hasn't been resource management in BioWare games in years. And even then it was ruined by something like the IE games' resting mechanic.
0:33 A Tale of Fail

The best part about this video are the comments. Right now someone claimed to 'have lost faith in BioWare'; and this one guy answered with 'MULTIPLE RACES HAVE RETURNED'. That same guy is pretty much answering every comment that way.

Also, the top comment is about the guy's anus is wet over the video. Youtube never changes. All we need now is theistic discussion stemming from the word 'Inquisition'.

Well, Origins was in development (hell?) for a billion of years and it turned out to be a boring turd, so I doubt more time is really going to help them.

If you have mana, which recharges, and a healer, you have regenerating health, it's just more annoying.

That's not the only possible concern. Even if magic is limited in one way or another, 'managing' resources might just mean 'buy every healing potion you can find' if its not preceded by some economic balancing. Given that this is BioWare's first foray in a 'open world', the economy is likely to suffer, with the player being very rich.
