It's not so much that they want to avoid objectification. They do that, quite openly. The issue is a staggering amount of people these days in the industry are prone to autogynephilia and so the aesthetics and character designs reflect that.

These people aggressively radicalise each other until everything they do revolves around subversion.

At this point the entire industry needs a hard reset and society at large requires a purge of unhinged ideologues and subversives. We're arguably seeing the former happening though not as quickly as I would like. The latter will inevitably come just like it always has throughout the other periods of human history when these nutters gained power and pushed too far. If only because their goals are simply not at all sustainable in reality.
It's the reverse IMHO.

The larger society needs to change first; entertainment (and politics) is downstream from that.

As I mentioned in a previous post about GenZ, a lot of this is demographics. The demographics and attitudes of young people in North America and even Europe has drastically changed over past several decades.

Hell, even Japan (especially among the youth) is dramatically different from what it was in the 1980s for example.

Younger customers are who companies and advertisers target. They see us old farts as living on borrowed time.

What do you think causes society at large to change? It's the man on the screen telling them what's normal.

Mark my words: History will look upon Codexers that doomposted about this game less favorably than those that played it.

And the people that think this is the turd that kills Bioware: Why? ME3 with it's atrocious ending should have killed them. Andromeda should have killed them. Anthem should have killed them. And yet they're still here... face it, Bioware is immortal.

I know it sounds contradictory, bit tragically-long life is the punishment God is doling out to these people. Why do you think so many good studios die young?

Revelation 9:6: During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

It really depends on how much money the game will make.
I doubt they will make enough but if they do, I'm looking forward to their next flop. More entertaintment for me

They're still here but they have been wounded significantly. They were the kings of the RPG landscape from Kotor to ME3. They are no where close to what they once where. You can't say their failures havebt had an effect. If this flops hard it really could be the end for them.

They can only push so far before it becomes too much. As frustrating as it is for regular gamers to lag behind even they're starting to just quietly give this sort of game a pass or actively mock it and despite being extremely vocal the unhinged types who flood social media with their hideous self insert characters simply don't exist in large enough numbers to equal even half of the amount of people who would have bought the game if it were closer to Dragon Age: Origins in tone, style and aesthetics.

Even if the studio doesn't close and simply continues to limp along it's basically a victory anyway.

He is back, shitting on the game.

Servant of Nurgle ousting Slaaneshi cultists))

The worst thing about these streamers/youtubers is that they will buy the game, even if it is trash, instead of pirate it first :thwack:

In business, it means that if customers buy the game anyway and there is a good profit, we can release whatever we want. Or, similar to risk management, accept the risk, even if we incur losses, as it is more economical that rectify any perceived risks.

Few streamers buying the game won't affect the sales much. They need millions of sales just to break even.

It's not just a few streamers; his audience too, and the trend they generate spread to other similar content creators that want to keep up with the trend. Not buying the game and not giving them the knowledge of its existence is the best treatment. It creates more buzz, more reviews, and more people who want to try the game.

The best example is Balder's Gay, where even people who never play games want to buy that game and spend hours playing only to "understand" why the game is so popular, and a lot of players get stuck with the game without the possibility of refund. Keep in mind that some people try to keep playing because they have already spent the money on the game. So as not to "feel" it as much as lost money.

One of my friends bought that turd, played the first chapter, and never touched the game again. He's more into FPS games like "Hunt: Showdown". Now, take a random person's review on BG3 Steam, open his profile and see what kind of game they play. You'll find some guys who spend most of their playing time with random games like "Flight Simulator", a porn Clicker game, and Baldur's Gay. That's my point.

The steam forums are a fiesta. People are getting banned, having threads locked, all for speaking the truth about this body mutilation shit; and of course its always the liberals as to whom are for this crap as well as censoring people's freedom of speech. Funny how it's always, always, the left that is quick to censor you as well as revoke your constitutional right by either labeling it as hate speech or banning you entirely from the discussion. Bunch of fucking faggots brainwashing our kids to be confused about their biology and then celebrating it as if it's something good. It's blasphemy, anathema, to commit such sacrilege on the human body; if god wanted you to be a woman he would have made you one, instead he made you a man for a reason, to go against that is not only profane but heresy.

I hate how this is infesting my video games.

We're going to have a whole generation of confused children because of these cunts - I hope they all burn in hell.

You can't fight faith with faith. You need to destroy theirs with reason, otherwise you'll alienate those who don't share your faith. You need some common ground with your allies. Not that many atheists wouldn't share some basic moral ground with Christians, but it's easier to win them over if you refrain from using religiously coded language. Of course there are people who have more faith than reason, for them you might as well use the same rhetorics. Anything else would just be ineffective.

Your wish is granted.

Some corporate fuck is going around giving people copies of this shit game:

M2fbRuQ.png

I don't know who they work for but some retarded marketing arm, either EA or some other PR company enlisted by Bioware, is trying to bump the game. Of course the corporate dog denies it:

"BioWare *definitely* would not be able to afford my services." Fucking fag.

Yeah, the Bioware shills at Steam forums are well known. You've already noticed one. It's an important part of PR these days, to gently or not so gently steer the discussions away from the negatives, and to discredit all critics. And at that respective Steam forum the mods are also complicit.

Bruh, that 100% ass is flat af. And tranny scars LMAO! Burn in hell Bioware.

I noticed that the bulge can have a negative value

I hate detailed optical character creation anyway. I wanna play a game not design a barbie doll for hours.

Give me a bunch of good looking presets and that's more than enough. Who cares if the character brow is 2mm thiccer and bullshit like that. Waste of time for all involved.

And what's the point of all of this if you have neither boobs nore boob wiggle slider. PURE DECLINE!

Yeah, in a game like this having a detailed CC is just going to lead to disappointment once you discover that your perfect avatar is just going to behave and sound like a retarded goody two-shoes caricature, and even the gameplay won't provide a distraction from it.

I've never played any of the DA games. Never cared about it. They kind of look like Bioware's in-house D&D inspired titles. How far from the truth am I to thinkithat DA is their continuation / spiritual successor of NWN?

You aren't far off. Dragon Age Origins is worth playing in its own right.

The first game in the series, Dragon Age: Origins actually feels like NWN with better plot and without D&D.

World state customization is exclusive to Inquisition.
Some guy on Reddit that claimed to have played the game at one of those events said that it basically amounts to:
- Who the Inquisitor romanced
- What was the Inquisitor's attitude towards Solas in Trespasser
- Whether you formally disbanded the Inquisition or not
- Who drank from the Well of Sorrows

Going by the 5 buttons in that screenshot, this prolly confirms it (first button is customization for the Inquisitor's appearance, the rest are the aforementioned choices).

NWN has cool fan modules like Swordflight. Dragon Age can't compare.
