The funding thing is so frustrating, because it's the perfect example of why democracy is fucked. You can take something that is a great idea in theory (allocating funding for the arts, especially earmarked for small business so it doesn't go to some megacorp) that sounds like a good thing to vote for. Years later you find out it got tagged to be spent on someone's pet project (pozzed shit) as a compromise and on top of that, the specific person that was in charge of approving the grant whom you had no influence over and no idea who put them in charge or how to even begin tracing that, was wildly incompetent and picked someone that would obviously waste all the money even if you were okay with their agenda. Now go back to vote again and what did you learn? Not to vote for someone that was elected 8 years ago who is never running again anyways and broke a promise for reasons beyond their control?
