Game is starting to get on my nerves quite a bit.

Everywhere you go, it's always non-stop rushdown DS3 speed bosses (or faster and even more aggressive, honestlty). It's constant pressure, and they're all very fast and can't even be staggered easily with two-handed weapons if you strike first.

Additionally, there's beast-type enemies across the levels and open world that are also as fast as the Boreal Knight of DS3, but much bigger and waving ridiculously big hitboxes around. I've so far had to cheese several of those enemies by just going to the nearest doorway and poking them through it which is a shame because the enemy designs are amazing, but the enemies just move too fast to deal with otherwise for me. (e.g. the lion with the scythe blade chained to its paw in Stormveil, or the giant bears)

I killed it, jump-attacking and poking into its belly from here, but fuck me, what a fun time, doing this shit for 5 minutes because you get obliterated in normal combat, as it moves faster than light.

I am starting to wish for different boss designs, and I hope the game has that later on. I'm starting to get a bit tired of the whole "we'll play almost as fast as Bloodborne now" meme.

After playing 40 hours I've reached the conclusion that Sekiro is a better game than Elden Ring

A shame, really

Sekiro loses solely on its art direction and fewer environments, single weapon and lack of fashion, even if we completely disregard gameplay.

You guys are aware that you do not have to clean every corner of the map? I mean unless you have asperger or just need to grind because you are shit at this game I do not see the point in clearing all of the side content. I for now do pretty much only main quest/legacy dungeons, npc quests and check the map for some outstanding locations etc. I did maybe 4 or 5 mini dungeons/mines and only for more crafting materials for weapon upgrades. I see no point in kiilling burial watchdog mini boss three times over for some item I might not even use.

I see some huge abandoned castle surrounded by poison lake or tall as fuck and seemingly unaccesible tower I go there. I see generic entrance to catacombs I probably skip it unless npc or item directed me there.

Before I killed Godrick I visited Liurnia, Caelid, Sofia River, Ainsel River and also got teleported at least 3 times to end game locations. Just git gud and leave Limgrave all that is stoping you are your skills and damage output. Explore and stop sperging about missing shit out.

It's easier to succeed with a tight, focused design than with a big sprawling one.

Do you guys know of any wa to the volcano thing at the north west of the map before you do the castle? I checked before starting if theres a club again because I like clubbing and there is a spiked one that even makes enemies bleed, just like the one I used in DS1. It seems its in the hermits shack on some volcano but whatever I do and whereever I went I cant seem to find a way up there. I either get blocked by mountains or some big elevator that doesnt work. I use the normal one in the meantime which I started with but in the back of my head the other one is calling to me.

this boss broke me
I have not reached this boss yet, but seeing a picture of it I now want to quit the game and never come back

I've spent 4 hours on this boss. No kidding.

The reason is that this boss is designed for co-op or high level summons. Once a Crucible Knight becomes airborne the entire fight turns into a clusterfuck.

I spent like an hour waiting for player signs and then 50% of them died in the route to the boss and the other half was too retarded for the fight.

I did summon one skilled guy but I shat my pants like a little bitch.

In the end, it was too much. I will revisit these fuckers with a +20 weapon. Maybe.

Playing STR/FTH and have watched some mage gameplay, and spells/incantations are very underwhelming.
So far they've only really been useful for cheesing enemies in specific spots, and for that the standard fireball works just as good as throwing lightning.
And when you just want to do any damage at a range, whichever spells has the best mana/damage ratio is the best, and that seems to be the starter spells.

Like I have ~30 strength and ~30 faith, and the damage of a big lightning incantation requiring 28 faith I found while exploring is as much as one light attack from my +5 weapon
Whats the point?

Isn't that always the case with DS games? I've never played any caster in any of them because just looking at stats and wikis, it all seems like pointless, gimped shit.

Hahaha Limgrave 30 fucking fps. I alt f4'd and sent a refund ticket in immediately. What a joke.

ELEX 2 here I come baby.

First area where you JUST enter the open world has the worst fps of the whole game so far, 30 hours in :D

Granted, fighting bosses with drops to the 40s is not a lot of fun, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

whoever decided that, instead of just blocking teleport, blocking the whole map in fights is a good idea deserves to be beheaded. Its fucking annoying to not be able to open the map just because theres is some unmovable stone object 500 meters away that happens to be poisenous.
Good news, you can use the grace in your inventory to go back to warp, you lose your runes but at least you are able to warp again. You can also open your map in the warp screen and teleport from there.

Nah casters are fine. The problem is that the moment players discover a good offensive spell, from will nerf the everloving fuck out of it.

I suggest zooming in the map and really looking at the lines. I spent hours looking for ways to get to places and realised the map is very detailed. You can find difficult paths with zoomed in map details. It is a skill you will have to get used to. Prior to this game I never had to look at a map outside of Google telling me where to go.

After playing 40 hours I've reached the conclusion that Sekiro is a better game than Elden Ring

A shame, really
Anybody else has the same opinion? I absolutely hated Sekiro.
While it's a mixed bag as a souls game, it's miles better than Sekiro, whose only good gameplay came from the boss fights, with the rest of the game being faceroll101. When you enter actual dungeons, Elden Ring has good level and encounter design, and a ton of really deadly traps and ambushes which you can't just nope out of the way by jumping like a monkey like you do in Sekiro.

The open world experience though is very reminiscent of what it's like to play Sekiro during exploration, which is to say, it's mindnumbingly boring.

The variety in boss mechanics is also something I appreciate in Elden Ring. They've outdone themselves on that part, it's truly high quality stuff.

All in all, if you took away the open world parts, I'd call it a much better game than DS3 too. But because there is the darned open world, with so much padding I feel like the game is twice as long as it really needs to be, it is hard to rank the experience.

I had +5 greatsword, and it was a mess - my damage output was so pitiful, at first I thought I was significantly outleveled and should come back later. But then i switched to my shitty +2 mace, and literally wiped the floor with those fuckers. Only used two estus gulps.

If for some reason the damage you deal is too low, try switching to a blunt weapon.

Or come back later with your weapon upgraded, when you deal enough damage it bypasses their defense. My uchigatana was literally bouncing off of the crystal mobs as if I was hitting walls at first, but now when I encounter them again it just shreds them.

Just fought and killed my third shardbearer boss. What a roller coaster.

I don't want to give away too many details, but basically the fight has what might be the best setup and concept in any Souls game.
...Unfortunately this is juxtapositioned by the actual boss fight which is a genuine contender for taking the title of being the worst boss across all the games. We're talking S rank levels of bullshit here.

I died a lot to it too but it wasn't as bad when I realized that you're really meant to switch to your horse at times in the fight, to stay safe while summoning more when npcs die.

I also didn't manage to survive the phase 2 transition until I put on the reflex of hopping onto the horse and nopping as far away as I can before he explodes onto the group, it's really hard to avoid by just sprinting on your two legs and I'm not sure it's even dodgeable.

Using horse and npc summons in that fight is a no-brainer although I am sure there will be soon a video of guy beating this boss naked with basic club+quick step combo:lol:

I thought the first few legacy dungeons were good, but pretty average for From Soft. Lyndell on the other hand might be the best area From Soft has ever released. It is absolutely huge and sprawling and has a massive variety of places to go and things to do. Incredible dungeon.

Daily reminder that if you're using spirit ashes you're denying yourself the struggle of perseverance and conquest and are essentially cheating. Spirits trivialize the game and bosses.

If your first playthrough isn't a naked SL1 run you are denying yourself the joy of being a faggot online and essentially wasting your money.

I like how the later areas in the game stop feeling like ubisoft games with no markers and start feeling like giant Dark Souls levels but you ride on a horse instead of running around on foot
