Did this tread just dwelled into complete dumpster with the biggest retards here arguing that keyboard+mouse is not better then gamepad for first person shooters? I thought I've seen everything. How retarded you must be to say keyboard sucks because you got fingers on wsad so you can't change weapons properly with numeric keys I don't even. That's why we got option to change input keys. Everyone who got more then one brain cell and a bit of dignity knows you don't change weapons with numeric keys, you bind them with q,e,shift,f. This way you are not forced to take your fingers off wsad. Jesus fucking Christ, this is so stupid my retard detector run out of scale. You need an analog key to change your movement speed? Walk, run and sprint is more then enough.

So you're pushing Q, E and F with your nose then? Because you have to have 3 fingers on W A/S and D and if you're moving one away you are literally taking a finger off.

I already explained to you that if you have your middle finger on W, that leaves your index and ring finger to press QERFC134X... now multiply this with SHIFT and then again with ALT... You get it yet? I didn't think I had to spell it out so plainly for you in my last post but seems like you need handrails to post on here.

Please Vic, tell us how retarded you are when you want to argue your fingers don't leave A and D to press other keys and thus leaving your movement options limited for brief time in order to push other buttons. While on a controller your thumb is exclusively for movement and never has to leave the stick.

Listen, kid. Just shut the fuck up you are embarrassing yourself and you don't even know it. But just to answer you like I would a child: you don't need to keep your fingers on A and D because you move forward with W and turn left and right with the mouse. Some games have strafing and some don't, in either case you have at least 2 fingers available to press hotkeys and you rebind them according to the game and what is comfortable for you. The combination of hotkeys on a keyboard vastly exceeds what you can do on a controller.

Now just back off from this or I will ignore you for being the most retarded poster here right now.

Please do block me Vic, your sad pathetic attempts to dick ride are boring and pathetic.

You still won't admit your wrong. 2 joysticks you never have to take your thumb off give more movement control than a keyboard you have to move your fingers off the movement keys to use. Objective truth and there's nothing you can do to change that.

Gracefully, like a multi-headed dick hitting ass and thigh.

I'll take your word for it. I don't watch hentai.

Hope none of you is playing Fromsoft games with a keyboard+mouse:shredder:

On the controller debate: Arguing that a controller is superior for an fps game is retarded. But analog input for stick and triggers do give it a leg up in some genres, mainly in vehicle games. I played a lot of Dirt Rally 2.0 and EA Sports Wrc where this really help precisely control the car. On my next Cyberpunk 2077 run I installed a lot of vehicles mods and switched to the controller while driving because of how bad k&m is to drive with no throttle control.

Played red dead 2 recently with a controller, and man trying to aim and shoot while Accelerating the horse and trying to keep it face plant a boulder is not fun during ambushes with several riders coming at you. But for on foot combat it worked decent with you having to issue reload, cover commands while running and aiming. But probably better on k&m.

And more on topic you are often force to play with a claw grip for Souls like and it's a But tedious that you can't even hold the controller right. Even worse in Greedfall because of the maze like levels so you have to constantly move the camera while pressing action button at the same time.

Other than DS1 initial release (which didn't have mouse control) they play fine despite not being properly adapted. Certainly more comfortable.

I played DS I, II, III, and IIRC also Elden Ring keyboard only.

It's not really problem because most keyboards have numpad. (It's kinda weird that they are removing numpads and other stuff from modern keyboard.)

I can't describe this, but there's this special sensory and motoric experience when playing a souls game with a gamepad, where the left and right bumper sides of your gamepads control your left and right hands, which you miss while playing with mouse, as you control both of your hands with a single hand. I tried and sometimes even was forced (gamepad broke, had to wait for the end of the week for a new one to arrive) to play with a mouse and keyboard and after gamepad it was a miserable experience. Force feedback also adds a lot.

Why people are complaining about DLC difficulty? I think I'm 3/4 done with it (Shadow Keep), and the only truly difficult thing so far was Rellana on low Scadutree level. Everything else feels 'just right'. Are people playing naked and level 10?

I think it was a combination of people never actually getting good in the base game (or ever for that matter), and the DLC starting right off the bat with crazy end game scaling out of the gate. It's like if you were to start Elden Ring again after two years of not playing it and you get dropped in the Haligtree or Farum Azula from the get go. Not to say the spike in scaling in the original wasn't abrupt to some, but you still had the entire previous game as a warm up, which probably helped. A lot of people probably just forgot what the original game was like by the time they got into this DLC.

Hell Swarm How do you jump and shoot in halo with your thumbs on the sticks?
By using the middle of your thumb to press the jump button. Modern controllers have an insane amount of remappable buttons. On the steam deck you have every finger directly on a button and I believe the new Xbox has back buttons too. So 8 buttons plus your fingers on the sticks. It's a lot of buttons you can rebind as R/L 4 and 5 are not used in most games.

Oh look it's the 50th post of "Why do people complain about the difficulty when I haven't got to the things people complained about yet". Maybe play through the DLC and see the issues instead of making dumb posts?

Beat Mesmer yesterday and his moveset is really hard to read. He has the spiral dive where he twirls with fire then slams into you. The initial twirl doesn't have a hit box. His flaming spear can hit you and not do any damage which feels really janky. Then he spins again and does have a hit box. It's really awkward to read his moves and I've began to really dislike him on a 2nd play through.

Halo scythe is brutal in coop. Most things can't dodge it and you can throw out incredible amounts of damage. You never stop spamming discs and bosses melt. The sword of light is really cool but it's lack of poise breaking gets you fucked if you use it for anything but a disco buff.

Radahn is really annoying coop because he moves so much and his gravity spell can throw you around the arena. It's quite annoying and a problem we're going to work on once Magma blade has eaten rot bitch. If she couldn't randomly water fowl where you're in no position to escape she'd be dead long ago.

Godskin apostle and Metyr have the best music in the game. Maybe the best From music period. I've been looking for remixes but most of them suck.

If you want the best build in Elden ring click the spoiler below.

Smith Hammer is hilarious. Launching mages off roofs is funny. Watching Milennia take a hammer to the back of the head and fall over is fucking great. The best is phase 1 of the frenzy boss. You send him flying and it never stops being funny.

Don't avoid the question you little turd, it was very specific because of your retarded argument.

You got 6 free buttons and 2 of those most likely will affect your sticks. A basic k&m has at least 13 (15 with the wheel).

And btw, the main reason holding multiple action buttons down or pressing multiple at same time for a different action is even a thing, it's the limited number of inputs on the stupid controllers.

The lack of proper side buttons on a mouse is a pet peeve of mine. That shit above is unusuable unless you have microfingers. I had a friend who had it, and i tried it a bit and i found impossible not to hit two or three buttons at once. Granted i have big bear hands but that shit just doesn't seem workable. Only way i could use it is by focusing on the perimeter and ignore the buttons inside, so 1 2 3 and 10 11 12 were the ones i could use reliably in a clutch the rest i didn't bother that much.

I think four side bottons, possibly six at the most might be ideal. Most manufacturers however they either go too many or too few and i'm not sure why. Of course, the keyboard is right there so it's not like it's really required.

Meanwhile that controller with keyboard is retarded too. What are going gonna do, WASD a shooter and use the stick as a mouse on those micro buttons? Take your hand off the sticks to go reach for a keyboard button? Also, wouldn't that giant keyboard just make holding the controller super uncomfortable?

Consoles are limited yes. Limited in control scheme. Limited in customizability. Limited in hardware power and modularity. It's a lowest common denominator that has dragged the entire PC industry to its own level. Even graphic development was held back by that shit. As much as people screetched about graphics whore even that isn't a thing anymore. If you buy a top of the line graphic card it's because you want to play at 4K with RTX on. The graphic power is otherwise wasted and unitalized, because the game has to be made to run on shit console hardware and can't go any higher than that (and no, this has not led developers to focus more on "gameplay". Gameplay is equally shit and dumped down).

"But Lyric Suite, Japanese developers make great games on console! You are playing one now!".

Yeah like they have a fucking choice. Imagine if the PC had been as popular in Japan as it had been in the west during the heyday of gaming. So many classic consoles games with wierd control schemes, strange camera systems, cumbersome inventory management, low graphical detal or resolution, all kind of shit we could have been spared. We could also all be playing all the games. None of that shit about having to buy a PS4 to play Bloodborne.

Hell, if you want to know how ridicolous this shit is, imagine that games actually run better on Yuzu in windows as opposed to the actual console hardware they were made for. That shit just blew my mind when i first learned about it. The peasantry was off that chart with that lmao.
