Emergency weather report. Management visit with inspection.
CRONUS WEEKLY

1a50cdbb94143b138856d6407a55d8979d4a0b34.gif

Dear subscribers, once again the latest issue of the CRONUS Weekly is on your terminals. Today we will tell you how the weather affects anomalies, the results of an unscheduled administrative check and how to become the owner of a spray gun for self-defense.

Weather report

1ac5cefcc2a8e1a3c7bfa05d6b8b161002588d0f.png

Breaking news! From this day on, every resident of the Dome is obliged to listen to the weather forecast data every day. White Wing scientists have found the relationship between the weather and the activity of many anomalies.

The results of observations confirm that the electriс anomalies have grown to unprecedented sizes. It could have been caused by increased storm activity, but it’s too early for final conclusions, hundreds of hours of observations and experiments needed to be done. One thing is for sure: you can't neutralise them with simple bolts.

Management inspection

e6c2aa206bbedae6dda9b785cee8aa2b40ecf61f.png

Last week, CRONUS conducted a major upgrade of the entire infrastructure under the Dome. Such an important event did not go unnoticed by top management. This week, a commission of leading managers personally visited the main research facilities.

"Everything went according to plan. The laboratories and research facilities have been cleaned up and put in perfect order. The equipment, furniture and equipment have been replaced with the latest models. The staff has been urgently instructed and successfully recertified. The unannounced inspection showed no signs of corruption, abuse of authority, embezzlement or financial fraud. There is only a bright future ahead for us," said Silver Wing authorized specialist.

Self-defence items

248d075c435738e566047ef6ea87ced1e96f0f8a.jpg

Residents of the Dome, we are receiving more and more requests for self-defense weapons. We hurry to inform you that thanks to the recent renovation of infrastructure, the Dome has become one of the most comfortable and safe places to live on the whole planet. However, the safety and security of the settlers is a priority for CRONUS. A series of non-lethal weapons has been developed especially for employees with dubious backgrounds.

Starting today, you can send a request for a pepper spray gun. The weapon is not only easy to use, but also can easily disable your opponent for several hours thanks to the unique chemical composition of the pepper mixture. All this without significant harm to your target's health.

Doesnt look like a nerf on paper. HP is up probably for everyone so Psi damage output might be lower now relative to before. And I forgot to check if Psi has range and accuracy now, before I uninstalled.
The guy in the starting area who had a stealable heavy mg, lost it... sadface

Fallouts Slayer, so just farming random ecnounters for xp to get to 15 should make any char playable.

Decided to bite the bullet and buy it even though it's still EA. Wasn't disappointed and it's cool to see games like this and Atom RPG being made. Got to hand it to those russians.

The game seems a bit on the easy side, though. I created a brainiac white wing employee and the amount of skill points I was getting meant I mastered almost every skill in no time at all. I feel like there should be more requirements for the ability points than just skill progression. It felt out of character for my nerdy scientist to be so proficient in everything. Combat seemed a bit on the easy side too, trivial even after I got that sadistic buddhist orange in my party. Should clearly have picked something over the "normal" difficulty.

I haven't played since the first content patch after being rather disappointed with it. Though now the game seems to be in a good state and will probably be good when they release it this year. The biggest issue is the difficulty since it far too easy to just sneak around every enemy and you get way too much ammo and weapons without really fighting early on. The most impressive thing is the sheer amount of skill/ability checks in this game, don't think I have ever played a game where my skills felt this relevant. Of course there still bugs and untranslated text but it seems like they moving in the right direction. Also, I hope they add more faces and hairs + portraits to the game the current selection is kinda barebones

Hotfix 0.18.828.1606: Following in the footsteps of user bug reports
6ecd626882caca019089c90adbee21b997bf489b.jpg

From the very beginning of the game’s development, our community has been actively involved in the work on Encased, proposing marvelously insane weapon ideas, interesting encounters and exciting new characters (we even added some of them to the game).

Forefathers mysteries, anomalies and artifacts
1a50cdbb94143b138856d6407a55d8979d4a0b34.gif

Welcome, dear subscribers. Once again "CRONUS Weekly" is on your terminals. Today we’ll focus on mysteries of the Forefathers, anomalies and artifacts. In recent video chronicles, we told you how you can get the most valuable inventions for your personal use. If you missed it, we advise you to watch it immediately.

Forefathers

5d5412fe34d6731c2428ced626ca5262c45cef89.png

Almost everyone who has heard of the Dome at least once asks a question: where did all these technological wonders come from? Unfortunately, no one, even the best minds of humanity, is ready to answer this question. We call the creators of the Dome the Forefathers and know too little about them.

Every day, the best scientists of the White Wing carefully study the technologies left by the Forefathers to turn them for the benefit of humanity. Even today, dozens of amazing inventions are ready to be transported to the outside world, and it is you, our readers, who can become their first owners.

Holographic projector

12979f6d9801efa0d9e3d6053dacf5b08d3a5c86.png

Holographic projector is one of the new advanced technologies of the Wesley industries, a real breakthrough in data transmission. In a few days it gained popularity in almost all areas under the Dome. Officers of the Black Wing especially liked it. The presentations of new models of weapons and armor have never attracted so much attention before.

Projectors are especially useful in the training of recruits, the battles with holograms are absolutely safe, but they allow to create situations as close to reality as possible.

Anomalies

31c994407fafc943fd8db94eb88bf1543a987281.jpg

Anomalies, perhaps, are the main secret of the Dome. Despite the huge budgets that CRONUS allocates to study, we still know too little about their properties. Risking their lives, every day dozens of researchers go to the wastelands to study these wonders some more.

You may have already encountered some anomalies at the Concord station. Here, every newcomer, under the strict control of scientists, must understand what he’ll soon face.

With Wasteland 3 out gonna wait for the final release, but probably just gonna snoop around and see the merchants to see if they were fixed.
Dunno the obsession of the devs in this game with full RNG on trader inventory and encounter loot. IMO is pure decline to add RNG on loot drops not taking in consideration what the enemy used against you, if you manage to overcome the encounter even if the enemy was fully decked on equipment, you are entitled to it. If the dev don't want power creep they need to make sure the encounter is hard enough to not be breezed through it.

You're 100% right, mate! That's the purest decline. In proper RPG enemies should have their own inventory, from which they use items/ammo just like you. This way enemies can run out of ammo, run out of healing items, pick up stuff, etc. You will loot what's left - if you quick to kill, you loot a lot; or you can use the tactic of attrition and loot leftovers.

This is one step from shit present in Fagout 3 or FNV, when a guy can shoot at you for hours, having for all intents and purposes infinite ammo, but then you loot measly 5-10 rounds.

i tired it finally. got to the roadside picnic with orange stealth melee char. it's pretty fun.

the setting is great, STALKER + Made in Abyss kinda vibe, combat is ok so far. it's so early i haven't gotten much milestone yet and some parts of the writing feels kind awkward but decent at the very least/

Dear subscribers and residents of the Dome, the latest issue of "CRONUS Weekly" is once again on your screens. Today we will talk about the revival of cultural life, discoveries of biologists and testing of the panacea.

Return of movie theaters

5d892ca460ccc6f043e6343a0cd95984738b0042.png

When we say that the Dome has become a new center of the world, it’s not only because of science and technology. We know how important it is to support culture and art, that's why we are happy to present the first full-length film made under the Dome.

Deader than dead is an exciting adventure movie, highly appreciated by cultural consultants of the Silver Wing. The film combines an exciting plot and a deep humanistic message. The movie is fully filmed and edited under the Dome, and its actors instantly became worldwide stars! You can watch this unique artistic expression very soon in any cinema around the globe or on the screens of your terminals with an extended subscription to CRONUS originals.

Cockroach soldier

8b8521b45ec1f48498f2191977d0137d963a8bc0.png

In the past, when we were all afraid of a possible atomic war, everyone knew that cockroaches could survive even a nuclear winter. Thanks to the discovery of the Dome, world powers maintain a balance, but cockroaches can still surprise us!

Truth to be told, they evolve rapidly under the influence of the Dome environment. For example, look at this handsome guy! In the hive, he takes the role of a soldier. On his head he has spikes that can penetrate the car metal, and his shell is difficult to break for the most ordinary bullets. Fortunately, everything is under control, and White Wing biologists control every creature. These mutants won’t be able to escape!

Cure for all diseases

3d851ef22c9beddf74fc6fff0bd8c4b1959809ae.png

Just 10 years ago, a person could die from an infection with a simple splinter. You had to drink tons of medicines and hope for the best if you wanted to cure yourself. The technologies found under the Dome have turned our idea of medical science upside down. Now most diseases, injuries and even gunshot wounds can be cured in a matter of hours with medical bags.

A brand new Stimpack is looking for volunteers for testing. This is a simple formality that will cure the test subjects of any illness. White Wing physicians claim it to be harmless and with no side effects. The device has already been tested by the top executives of the corporation. Now it's your turn!

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
so i have been playing orange suit melee stealth and some thoughts:

-melee is mostly useless because most enemies have ranged attack, and they step away from you then shoot you from distance. which makes sense i guess. you'd waste AP every just to approach them, i ended up raising my small gun skill
-stealth is BROKEN. i think it's not line of sight based, but radius based. when you go into stealth in combat, you just have to be outside their radius, then activate stealth, they don't even search for you. like just stand there, i approach them from behind then stab them or shoot them
-writing is awkward in some places, like some lines are phrased weirdly and overally transation quality vary from decent to barely understandable.
-setting, RP aspect, questing, etc are solid.

it's definitely an early access title that have promise, but i hope they don't rush this as i don't think it's anywhere ready for 1.0 if they still aiming for 2020 release.

how i defeat the rank 10 MOBIUS with low level char:

start turn with 9 AP, spend 2 AP to walk near to increase hit%, shoot 3 AP, walk away 2 AP, with the remaining AP go into stealth mode. enemy does nothing in their turn, repeat until it's dead lmao

Very similar to how stealth works in Fallout 1/2. You can restealth during combat and if your skill is high you can end combat.
the combat doesn't end in encased. you're still in turn based mode during stealth mode, thus eliminating the initiative problem. plus shooting doesn't always let you get detected lmao. i will post a video later.

so far loot are completely RNG. really decline. it;s the most disappointing aspect so far because all the problems i got so far are fixable, but how loot works is a core design, which is this far, doesn't seem like they are gonna suddenly change into fixed loot.

So crump gor radiation poisoning and i cannot get the skill to heal it. The game is dumb not letting party members use the med bay, so i am pretty much leaving him to die in there. He kept getting radiation poisoning and have DOT on him.

It's really stupid design decision as not even the origial fallouts are this obtuse. In falloit reducing radiation means getting rid of the debuff, in encased radiation debuff is separate so even when you flush out the rads, the debuff persist unless you use med station or have skill that is quite high in medicine.

I am playing below average intellect criminal with big muscles and pretty much locked out of this one.
