I've been playing Evil Islands for 2 days and though light in the "RPG" aspect, it's quite challenging and interesting.

Anyway, if I like Evil Islands should I try Rage of Mages? Does RoM I/II have less features (I heard EI and RoM are similar) because it came earlier?

Evil Islands is a very cool game, but I always lost interest in it after finishing with Gipath and arriving at the snow world (I forgot what it's called).

In RoM you end up controlling more stuff, and it's 2D but those are the main differences. I only played RoM 1 but it's a nice game from what I remember, so you should give it a try.
