Sounds like a perfect Bethesda quest: stupid fucking story, no way to refuse, turn down or otherwise manipulate the quest, and the entire actual gameplay segment of the quest consists only of a dungeon with "fighting and clearing".

Still a better quest than most of what Bethesda did for FO3. 
"Have you seen my dog, a middle-aged canine?" is more like what I expect from Fallout 4.

Worst thing is that it's still a banal fetch quest. If I had to salvage it, I'd make it so the player needs to disguise xirself as one of them and give a rousing speech, or sabotage the boxes so they blow up on their faces and the wasteland becomes a little healthier.

there will be no quests, your journal will be a shopping list of x/30 collectibles that you'll be filling up as you progress through the game. When you collect every piece of Deathclaw manure, every stupid fucking pip boy figurine and talk to all the special wasteland NPCs with retarded names like "Dr. Whom" or "Max Mad" you'll finally hear a rumor about your middle aged son, have you seen him?
